Salodonia is a single-party state governed by its Salodonian Nationalist Party, also known previously as the Revolutionary Alliance. Its constitution asserts the party's role in the administration of all areas of government and politics. The General Secretary performs critical administrative and executive functions, including the national organization of the party, state appointments and establishing policy. Political organizations must have the endorsement of the Nationalist Party to participate in elections. The President of Salodonia is its titular head of state and nominal commander-in chief of the military. The Prime Minister of Salodonia is the head of government, and presides over a council of ministers who represent over 25 ministries and commissions within the state. Below him are three deputy prime ministers who oversee these organizations.

While there is no formal standardized military of the nation there is a militia ready to go to combat no matter the reason. Most commonly they are outfitted with what they bring with themselves. Most have the common sense to bring rifles if they can. Roughly 2/3s of every regiment, a group of one hundred men, will be outfitted with a bolt action rifle. The rest either are equipped with a handgun or are given non combat roles. A large amount of the militia is composed of Southern Frontiersmen so most of them understand how to use a weapon. Artillery batteries are supplied by the government and the troops who are destined to use these are given actual training independent from the rest of the militia. Currently the navy and airforce is nonexistent. Anti-air guns are set up in major cities and artillery are stationed at the great lake border to compensate for this.
