Current In the beginning were the Words, and the Words made the world. I am the Words. The Words are everything. Where the Words end the world ends. You cannot go forward in an absence of space. Repeat.

Future veterinarian, presently irreverently funny self-deprecator and literature hobbyist.
Casual-advanced. 1x1 and Group RP, no preference.
Up to make mischief, make memories, and make a fool of myself.
And maybe roleplay a little on the side. :)
Dating @Mateotis who is much more active than I am here, but also decidedly a much more gifted writer/poet. Hound him if you're looking for me.
A little sickly and evidently severely lacking in impulse-control, so patience is appreciated in general.

@LovelyAnastasia Whether rain or snow or hail or sleet...
Shou Matsuoka will have his blue orchids.
He will. He will!
...a-and he totally will not freak at the sweet redhead behind the counter! Nope!
"The arcade!" Shou's eyes lit up. And here, he laughed. "What all you kids nowadays do! I'm guilty of being there some myself, actually. You see, my fiancée-" he began, and a smile that previously reached his eyes got caught in his throat and his expression wavered momentarily, before he shook his head with a little chuckle and smiled back at Akane, a cocktail of thoughts and feelings in the flecks of his brown eyes.
"...I can be a sucker for the gaming tournaments there."
He paused, quickly adding, "Unfortunately, I'm not very good. There's this one kid topping all the best games there. If I ever meet them, I have to congratulate them. They go by a peculiar tag..."

As if on cue, at the very mention of Akane's success at cooking, the silver haired man heard his stomach quietly, but grumpily, rumble. "I'm sure it comes with time. I take cooking classes at the academy myself, every Sunday morning. Mrs Green runs them." he referenced the culinary department's biggest asset and a sweet old lady who loved to teach and cook so did both. "If your sweet tooth ever needs a good fix and the Mochavine is too far a reach, I'm sure she's always ready to blow your mind."

And, like clockwork (albeit very slow clockwork of a clock that took nothing short of forever to chime) finally his black coffee arrived, along with a generous slice of strawberry cheesecake. His favourite, just the way he liked it. He quietly thanked Rosanna under his breath before gently pushing the plate towards his conversational partner. "Please, Miss Takumi. I'd feel bad eating it by myself now."

And as he went to lift his coffee, he noticed some hurriedly scrawled digits on the napkin and registered them as a phone number. He was sure as hell confused, but what choice did he have? He would have to later ring up the number and ask who it might have been. And if it was not meant for him, but for Akane, that would be inherently embarrassing...
He took the napkin nonchalantly and thrust it into the pocket of his dark jeans.

"Seven cats, mmm?" a jocular smile played at the professor's lips as he lifted the steaming coffee cup to them, and pressed his lips to the hot liquid after gently blowing over the surface. It was hot and freshly brewed, just the way he liked it. He took a lengthy drag and relished the taste for every last drop of the sip he took before setting the cup down again.

If Shou Matsuoka was a machine, then coffee was his fuel. He immediately looked more alive, and less like the silver haired skeleton with the sunken eyes from earlier. He sat up in his chair and stretched out, still a little haggard definitely, but coming to life slowly.

"Cats, or any pet, are a wonderful idea. I own two dogs, actually. A German Shepherd cross and a Jack Russell. They're both charming, and have without a doubt, made me a happier man."

Maybe the coffee didn't do him what the acquisition of magical powers would have, but it certainly picked him up. Looking around the room, he begun to appreciate the little cafe more and more with each little drag of coffee he took. There were so many happy people, coming and leaving and-

Wearing the exact same hoodie as James Avery.

He only just kept from doing a double take. Yes, it was difficult and he may have been hallucinating, but the particular black hoodie was a dead giveaway. James Avery stood outside the Mochavine and probably was completely unaware his professor was inside. He was checking his phone, of course. Those kids...

His attention focused outside the window the pair were sitting by, his eyes, catlike in their nature, followed James' movements. He mumbled softly to both himself and Akane. "There's a student who can really wear out my patience sometimes, and surprise me right after. James Avery...sigh. He's got a little reputation with me, Miss Takumi. I only wish he was as conscientious as you."

Cautiously, Shou's fingers gently drummed against the glass. He would have to speak to James soon. Very, very soon.

You kids have my blessings.

SAVE SOME ZOMBIE BUTT FOR THE REST OF US.

I'll work on a post super soon! But I'll be busy these few days, and I'm flying on the 21st, and I'll be back on the 26th!
@Knight of Doom Whoops! Goddammit I'm bad at remembering things ._.

At this point, it would be more conveniently noted that finals were still to happen. I might tweak my post just a little bit... "I'm sure you'll do excellently".

For some reason, I was under the impression that it was almost about to be winter holidays. Like, the last week remaining into them.
...which is when you have finals, yes.
"Ah, thank you, miss." Shou purred, eyes twinkling in the morning light that poured in through the windows of the Mochavine and him throwing another lazy half-smirk in the girl's direction before easing himself into the chair facing her and leaving two spots still open. He ran a hand through his hair as he continued, smiling over at her with a sheepish grin and half-lidded eyes, "You sit where you sit, do you not? Had I gotten here earlier, I would not have given up my favourite seat-"
Here he paused to gesture to a table by one of the tall windows, the second one from the bar. The sunlight fell in a particular way that Shou adored and bathed the spot in light, and 6 o'clock on spring or summer evenings when the sun was in the midst of setting, when warm, orange light flooded the Mochavine, the light fell particularly on that side of the little cafe, and anyone sitting in that particular seat, on either of the soft, cushiony couches, would be able to bathe in the sunlight and watch it set to their heart's desire. Call him eccentric, but he most definitely preferred that spot over any other.
"-over there, for anything in the world."

At the mention of his title, his eyebrow quirked in that way it does and he glanced at the girl with puzzled eyes, before a tired mind began whirring quietly and putting pieces together slowly, but surely. Akane, her name was. Akane Takumi, a girl from Shou's General Biology course. He blinked twice, eyes widening for a split second, though not long before they fell back into their dreamy, half-lidded state and across his lips crawled another mischievous smile. "Miss Takumi. I'm such a mess; I had trouble recognising you. Though shame on me; that scarf of yours is as good a giveaway as I've ever seen." he paused here, adding as an afterthought, "It really brings out the colour of your eyes."

"Why, my weekend's been..." his voice trailed off, the last night a whirlwind of memories of gaudy golds and leather, and roulette tables and card tables and winning and losing hands alike. He'd spent the night indulging in his worst sin, yet again: gambling. It would really catch up with him someday. Some days, he won quite heartily. Others, and the majority comprised these days, he did not. "...ha, it's only just started though, wouldn't you agree, Miss Takumi?" he responded, deflecting the question with a serene smile and a mature grace that only he as one of few could probably pull off, looking the way he did.
"Oh, mornings really are the worst. I come to the academy hating everyone and everything for about the first three hours, and then the coffee kicks in slowly and I realise everyday that I actually very much enjoy teaching. It's quite the stress-relieving sort of career, and I didn't think I'd say that when I first got into it."Unlike Akane, Shou wasn't afraid to laugh here. It really was a truth he enjoyed making light of.

He leaned forward in his chair a little, placing both his elbows on the edge of the table and clasping his hands together, resting his chin on top of the clasp and giving Akane a grateful smile. At least somebody appreciated his morning efforts, among other things...
And this way, he got a good look at the girl. "I didn't expect to see my students out here this early, frankly." he chuckled as he went to check the time on the wristwatch wrapped snugly around his right wrist, but stopped midway and remained as he was. Who was he kidding, early? It was early for him...he didn't quite so much think the same for the rest of the world. A weekend day that did not begin at 11am was a day wasted, he always said. "Likewise, hah. I'm glad you enjoy it, Miss Takumi. You definitely are a pleasure to have around, and I have no doubt you did excellently on your finals."

And Shou was not wrong. He would have to ask Shizuka, but Akane was by no means a dumb girl. On the contrary, she was academically gifted, and had a pleasant demeanour to match. Not to mention, she was quite pretty, with the colours in her hair that, on closer inspection, reminded Shou of his own youth and a twinge of nostalgia gripped his stomach, twisting it into loosely tied knots. Or, the manner in which her brown eyes shone...they weren't exactly dark as night, or the coffee he so enjoyed itself, but reminded him of a lighter blend. Gentle, and innocent, and...sweet.
That was a flavour he had yet to enjoy.

...snap out of it.

Shou caught himself absently marvelling at her innocence, before the sound of her voice, quiet and light, brought him back to the situation at hand. "I...o-oh, yes. Saturdays are the wild card day in the deck of the weeks of my life, Miss Takumi." he smirked here again, his own half-lidded brown eyes curious behind the spectacles he wore. "You're quite right. I'm here to kickstart my morning. I..." he paused, his cheeks taking on the tiniest shade in his embarrassment as he averted his eyes from hers, focusing on something, anywhere else really. "...I cannot cook very well, and though I manage with mere sandwiches on every other day of the week, on some weekends, I do enjoy treating myself to something sugary in the morning to kickstart my system. Things don't quite work when you get to my age, hah."

Here, he peered into her eyes again, leaning back as he yawned softly, stretching out his arms as well, before replacing them as they were on the table. His own scanned the area for any sign of his cheesecake, or even his coffee, but with a crowd like this, that was as likely as a meteor. No, in fact, maybe even less likely than that. Gazing up at Akane with both the mischievousness of a fox and the innocence of a puppy in the same expression, he smiled politely the whole while, in a way that indicated the professional relationship between them still. After all, she was his student and he was her teacher. If he didn't so much as retain that...

"You kids are usually better at this than I am. I'm convinced, since finals are over and a new term begins soon after Christmas, that you have a lot of free time you'd like to spend. Do you have any plans, Miss Takumi?"

@OppositionJ
@Oz Mornin', sunshine! It's coming to be 5pm here!

@Verdaux I have an idea as to how Sabine can interact with us! (Shou and Ayane if she'd like!) :D
She's the chef at the Mochavine, right? We can presume some time passes and she's done with her pastries and since Rosanna's so busy, she can totally step up and help serve, if she'd like to...

Also, boss! We haven't seen Rosanna's cute butt in a while.
Life being painful? :') @Dynamo Frokane
@Cirrus I think that totally works for me. :) Boss too, I bet. I'm cool to leave it hush until Ivory is back.
Until then, James can move!

There are so many other people to meet and things to do in Shine City, even when waiting for Mr/Ms Right...
@LovelyAnastasia That's funny, I was working on making one.
Of course I need artists and music, but my story is pretty solid.
:) More work on it when I can.
@Takashi

So, I'm going to go ahead and say what probably was, is, or will be on the mind of every girl (or guy) who just read that post:

'Holy hell does Yutaro do a good job at being smooth as hell and getting me all hot and bothered.'
@Cirrus

Also! The time skip is now in effect, so of course, James can wrap up the Thursday night and post as he'd like. :) I'm sure @Ivory should be on soon, but you can wrap up on both your behalf on the next post (with their input if required later)

Just to let you know you're not restricted from posting and going out and flirting hohoho, hun. :)
