Bits of bone and other dark fleshy parts were strewn across the ground opposite of Alex as the wyvern’s head came apart. It took a moment for the creature to slump to the ground, limbs still twitching. However, all was not well. While Larion helped with the immobilization of the plagued being by leaping on its back, some of the the bones that used to form the wyverns rib-cage had impaled Alex’s familiar. The puncture wounds weren't too deep and did not seem life threatening, but leaving them untreated for too long would no doubt be unwise.
On the brighter side however, the dome that was trapping them was dissipating slowly.
Meanwhile, Joshua was in the process of helping Imgor up. His eyes widened when he looked to the side to where Sapphire had been laying after being knocked out.
A man stood not too far from the creature with an unconscious Sapphire in his arms. His face was obscured by a plain white mask with only two gaps for the eyes.
The man stared at Alexander first then at Joshua and Imgor before bolting off into the woods.
Joshua in turn made sure Imgor could stand on his own and ran off after him.
“Get to Kiruth! Find Lazarus!” He shouted back at the two.
The veteran folded his arms to his chest and huffed.
“Then I assume you would have the appropriate documents on you?”
It seemed this one would not let himself be impressed by some flashy weaponry or pose. And Jonathan knew for a fact he could not show him any of the mentioned documents as he was still a hunter in training.
“However, no ordinary citizen is likely to have such a tool in his possession.” He then smiled. A slightly mocking smile too.
“Let me guess. You are a mere fledging. Who’s your mentor?”
As they conversed two more individuals showed up and were allowed onto the scene of the apparent murder. The two were most likely there to dispose of the bodies once the other two completed their investigation.
The bolt struck the back of Willos assailant. Willo couldn’t really make out whether the front limbs were arms or legs, since they bent so unnaturally, but regardless the thing used them to redirect the momentum horizontally, continuing its charge towards her, completely unfazed by the bolt stuck in its back.
It approached with ample speed, further connoted by the deep marks it left in the marble floor where it landed. It left Willo with little to time perform a conventional dodge.
