Standing at 5 foot six inches, April is one of those rare people that seem to have been sat down on the genetic fence in terms of appearance. Her appearance is wholeheartedly determined by what she wants it to be. If she wants to look hot, she'll have you begging on both knees but alternatively, if she couldn't be bothered with how others think about her --which is most of the time-- she'll just be your average girl.
Half of her beauty comes from the mystery to her that seems ever-prevalent and casually hinted at in every feature of hers. Her stormy grey eyes seem to hide a quiet knowledge and her rosy lips silently quiver with the secrets of the world. Piss her off though and you'll be in for a treat!
When she's not in uniform, April prefers baggy clothing, choosing to wear long wooly jumpers which is one of the main reasons to why she loves winter so much - she has an excuse to layer up. Very rarely will you find her in anything revealing, a choice that probably stemmed from the rather strict controls placed on her as a child. Another reason for it could be the rather impressive tattoo on her right forearm which April doesn't seem too quick to disclose.
An enclosed wall that seems to keep on shrinking and shrinking around her.

Ares is, despite his rather impressive name, one of the most cowardly cats in existence. It doesn't take much for him to turn tail and make for the nearest hiding spot. Despite his cowardly attitude, he seems incessantly curious and never really dropped out of the kitten phase which is probably why April likes him so much.
P E R S O N A L I T Y
Upon meeting April for the first time, one would not be harsh in thinking that she was nothing short of a dickhead. She is, after all. She's sarcastic, competitive and she has enough dim-witted pride not to let anything slide past her. The main thing that creates a lot of friction between her and others, however, is the constant air of superiority that seems to waft from her being - she gets excellent grades without much work being put into it which generally leads to others becoming frustrated and a tad bit pissed off at her. She could almost be described as being unapproachable, entirely detached from those around her in such a way that she seems to float from class to class without much interaction unless someone decides to step on her toes. Starting conversations with her seems almost void as she will either give you a short answer or a sarcastic one, both of which aren't the type of stuff that lay steady foundations upon which a friendship can be built. There are a few exceptions, of course.
God loves a trier and April appreciates them as well. If she sees that you genuinely are putting some effort into talking to her, she'll more than likely make mostly pleasant conversation. She'll occassionally slip up with the whole pleasant part and she will keep you at arm's length but you can see that there is some sort of appreciation there for your presence. The other exceptions are people she hates with a deep passion. You really haven't seen a bitch until you've seen April lay into someone she hates. This hatred can have a number of causes ranging from someone who looked at her funny to someone who thinks they're better than her. And finally, those who she gets a little hot and bothered about. She's only human and it's only fair that she gets to oogle a little bit of eye candy when she has the chance. Typically, these people have the very profound power of making her drop her agressive behaviour in favour of a more reserved one.
It's been proposed that she barely even has a working conscience but anyone with sharp enough eyes can see that that is really not the case - she is terribly afraid of something; something that can seemingly paralyse her in a moment's notice. In truth, April is irrevocably different from her fellow witches and wizards and in their world, that difference is enough to brand you as an enemy or someone who is not to be trusted. There's a beast inside April and it drags its claws through her soul, it tears away at her being until she's left feeling rotten and incomplete. It's the reason why she stays away from others. And it only has one master - the moon.

Given that the few males April was exposed to as a child were cousins which were quickly whisked away upon realisation of who she was, the young witch hasn't had much experience with the other sex. Apart from flirtatious glances from the truly bold (which she ignores), she's not exactly devoid of desire. She wants and she wants quite a bit but she also knows that she can't get so she let's most things drift by. Relationships are a no-go anyways so she's somewhat fortunate in that regard.

April has only ever committed one sin, but it's a heinous sin at that - she was born. The family she was born into - the Pembrooks were generally considered to be one of the most powerful wizarding families in America but not for their magical prowess or their great wizarding abilities; no, they were rich and held a lot of power in the Republic of Magic. The Pembrooks originated from Seattle but had branched out to gain a lot of control over the Washington State area. Her grandmother, Melissa Pembrook, was the acting Supreme of the family - the overarching matriarch that controlled all of the family's collective actions. The rules enforced by the family were nothing short of totalitarian in nature but they had a considerable amount of power which kept people in line pretty well. They had very staunch views on the treatment of magical creatures and the bloodlines of wizards and one of their most guarded rules was that witches and wizards inside the family could not marry or have children with muggles or worse, half-bloods. How hypocritical it was, then, that her mother was the one to break those rules and lie with a muggle.
Fast forward nine months and April was born, much to the fury and hatred of her extended family. Her grandmother would appear weak and biased if she didn't do anything about it so she excommunicated her own daughter and sent her into exile. There was still, of course, the problem of the eerily quiet baby that they were left with. For April, her grandmother chose mercy, which was both appreciated and frowned upon in the family. Things could have went a lot more downhill for the stubborn young thing but surprisingly, she had a mostly pleasant early life. Her grandmother kept her safe from those who wished harm upon her and brought her up like she was her own. April was smart, of course, and it wasn't long until she began hearing the stories and the rumours but she didn't let it bother her. She wholeheartedly loved her grandmother and although she wasn't fussed on the whole idea of power and politics, she looked like a promising young witch.
She grew up surrounded by magic on every side so it wasn't a surprise that she picked it up fairly quickly. Then, during the summer before she went to Salem for the first time, things went south. Like, very south. Their family, having radical views on the treatment of magical creatures, were attacked by a small group of fundamentalists trying to rip the heart right out of the Pembrook Coven - her grandmother. They didn't get to her, of course, but they got really damn close. Close enough to get April. She doesn't remember much but she does remember losing a copious amount of blood. When she came back around, she was still somehow alive with a very long cut running down her thigh that had been sealed over with silver.
As her grandmother nursed her back to health, it was becoming abudantly clear that although being a half-blood was acceptable, being a half-blood werewolf was not. Her grandmother was forced into an ultimatum - get rid of the girl or keep her and risk both their lives. So, begrudgingly, she got in contact with April's mother again. Although she was hesitant, her mother came back and took her as soon as she heard about the threat to her life.
Her mother wasn't exactly rich so the ingredients required to make Wolfsbane were hard to come-by but they got on alright. She was taken up North to Canada where her turning couldn't affect anyone. When it came to school, both her and her mother agreed that keeping her curse quiet was the best idea. Her mother tried to get as much Wolfsbane as possible but it was tricky so there's been more than a number of times where April will disappear for a night and go as far as she can from the school. She's a werewolf so nothing can really harm her anyways. She just fears the day where she can't get out. Where she can't run and be away from others.

Grandmother - Melissa Pembrook was the woman who actually raised her and kept her safe from those who would see her dead and for that, April is eternally grateful, but she still holds a silent judgement in her heart for her grandmother throwing her own daughter away and still fervently believes that although she loved April, a part of her always hated that her granddaughter was a half-blood.
Mother - Alyssa Pembrook may not have been there for April her entire life but April has come to an understanding with that. Her mother was the one who actually helped her with her curse and although she refuses to tell her anything about her father, April probably trusts her the most in the world.
