Flashback to the War on Titan-06394, young Ruric and his sister are fleeing from their home-world. In their house, young Ruric and Monika say goodbye to their mother:
"Mama, I don't want to leave." Young Ruric cries, gunfire in the background, vibrations filling the air, hurting young Ruric's ears.
"It'll be okay Ruric, I promise, you'll see your mama and papa once again." his mother cried, knowing the truth. "Ruric, Monika, I need you two to be strong now; like our soldiers have been. You two will be the last of the Titan humanoids, don't reveal that information to anyone, for if our enemies get wind of that, it could endanger your lives. Now, promise me, that despite the circumstances of today, you will stay away from the battlefields of tomorrow. I don't want your present to effect your future."
"Mom, I want to say goodbye to father." Monika requested, having always been a daddy's girl. This caused their mother to choke on tears, she quickly moved to the cupboard, and pulled from it two letters, from the kids' father.
"He wanted you two to have these, his final words to you." She cried, handing them the letters. "Now please, we need to hurry you out of here, before they find you." She exclaimed, as she shuffled the two children, down into the basement. She then hurried them into two escape pods, the rebellion had rewarded their family, with the sacrifice of the father. Two Soldiers kicked open the upstairs door, yelling a foriegn language ["Where are they?! We cannot allow them to escape!"]
"Oh no! They're here. I need to get you gone. I love you Ruric, and you Monika." She cried, activating their launch. Through the muffled glass of the rockets, Ruric cried to his mother, "Mommy! I love you! Don't leave us!" As the rockets began lifting off, they heard the soldiers storm the basement, and murder their mother. Her scream filled the desolate sky.
Ruric moved fast, Honest and Deceit danced as their fireworks filled the battlefield, shedding the blood of the enemy. A smile on Ruric's face knowing he was with his friends as they led victory. But soon, he started to see less, and less of the Iron Talon. His comrades had fallen, panic grew on his face when he had seen Monika fall to the ground, just ahead of him. He hurried to her aid, the thought of their mother dying flooded his brain, clouding his vision. He heard one of the enemy thugs laugh, "So, through a 'storm of glass' the Steel Wolf is weak, giving us enough time to corner it, and take it out." he said, cracking Ruric in the back of his head with the butt of the gun. The last thing Ruric saw was his sister's face, and the bullet wound in her shoulder. He blacked out as the thug unleashed bullets into his lower back.
The sound of others in the background woke him up, it seemed like he'd been out for days, and the first thing he saw was his sister sitting by his bed. He looked around, and saw that some of the others were up and awake from the previous battle as well. A smile grew on his face, "Monika, I'm so happy you're alive. What happened? Where are we?" He asked.
"I'm still awaiting for more details brother, but I'll inform you on what I know so far. I remember falling after getting hit in the shoulder, collapsing due to being winded, then waking up here. Alpha was already awake before me, and so was the Hirogen and the Teraton. The magical human or 'Wizard' has apparently been nursing us back to full health, with the help from the Female Elf." She replied, with a small smile. Ruric smiled, and then attempted to lift himself, only falling back on the bed, pain filled his body.
"You probably should give yourself time brother, after all, you did just awaken." She commented.
