An RP done entirely in Latin would be amazing

About Me:
I started roleplaying around age 12, giving me about 11 years experience. I'm a hobby writer who makes subpar fantasy and sci-fi novels on the side and have dabbled in the world of light novels to give my drawing skills a bit of practice. I'm by no means a professional or even really a 'good' writer, but I do try my hardest. Unfortunately, I am a very busy person so I often simply don't have the time to put the level of quality revision and editing into my posts that I'd like. That said, I am committed to creating the best experience for my fellow roleplayers when I join their RPs. I am a busy person, however, so know that I may drop an RP if I become unable to devote any more significant time into it.

I mostly take part in Fantasy RPs and Nation RPs. While I enjoy romance side plots in other RPS I do, I generally don't do Romance focused RPs except on occasions. I am okay to do Romance RPs on 1x1, however, note that I usually have to be in a particular mood for these RPs so I am not always up for doing them. For this reason, when I want to do such roleplay, I seek out a partner myself. I am fine with writing mature/18+ scenes, however, I typically find them boring and uninteresting to write (sorry, I'm not much of an erotica writer). As stated above, I am LGBT and Trans friendly, so LGBT Romance subplots and RPs are totally fine by me.

In terms of characters, I'm most likely to roleplay women, as I am one, though I can roleplay any gender. I enjoy exploring the characters and fleshing them out as they grow in the setting.

I am often told that I can come off as rude, and while I like to play it up a bit and be something of a tsundere, and I am trying to work on it, but please note that I am not much of a social person, even on the online realm, and I may take a while to respond to messages or not give you a very detailed response. Feel free to message me for purposes related to the RPs we are mutually a part of, though. I love to discuss things concerning the games to give them a more interconnected and realistic feeling.

As stated above, I have dyslexia, and it can be a pain in the ass sometimes. Don't be afraid to point out mistakes in my writing, I have a tendency to misspell, and I want to be made aware if it's particularly bad. I also speak a variety of languages, and if you are interested in RPing in a language other than English, I am more than happy to do so. Check out my Langauge Competencies list to see what I am capable of using.

My interests are High Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Nation Games, Alternate History, and Video Games. I'm not crazy about Anime, but I watch a few here and there, but I'm hardly the person to go on a long discussion on Anime about (I don't really see it as much different than any other animation, sorry.), same with Manga. However, don't go all weeb on me, I'm part-Japanese sansei myself, so obsession with and fetishization of Japan and Japanese people annoys the shit out of me and if you do it I will likely have a few strong words to say to you before I block you. No, I don't care if you're also Japanese. In that case, you're not a weeb, you're just a dime-a-dozen nationalist and that's even worse in my eyes.

Anyway, I hope to have some enjoyable RPs with you all. Let's have some fun.

Hotaru shuffled herself up, locking her hand around Haruko's arm and leveraging herself up, feeling as if the very fluids in her head were struggling to counter this, acting as gravity's aide. Never the less, Hotaru caught her balance once again.

"Oh, yes, not far from here, but I was actually on my way to the Church"

Church was probably a bit of an overstatement for the little building on the outskirts of the town. What once had served as a small roadside bar had been bought out by a catholic organization from one of the large cities in Japan, and converted into a church. It was small, but served the miniscule number of christians in the area, totaling to 7 people including Hotaru and her parents. The resident priest, a foreign Brazilian man of Japanese descent, usually did not stay long when it was not a sunday, returning to his home in a neighboring city quite quickly.

Hotaru frowned when she realized how much time was spent in thought on the curb. "Well...I was planning to go anyway" she spoke solumnly. No point in biking out now. "Guess I've got nothing to do now"
"100 yen please"

Hotaru lazily shuffled her hand into her pocket, scrounging up a handful of coins, listlessly allowing them to flow out of her palm as she rotated her hand to the left, snatching up the bottle of water and tearing off the cap and taking in a mouthful of water. Hotaru nodded slightly to the clerk and turned to exit.

In that moment, the heaviness of tiredness began to take hold on Hotaru, as she sat herself on the curb of the store, holding her head, seeking to drown out the sounds of nearby people, and not collapse of exhaustion on the streets. Each shutter of her eyes was permeated by images of her recurrent dreams, with a low groan of exhaustion sonorating from her. In spite of her eyelids falling as if of leaden construction, Hotaru took another sip of her water, as she struggled to get energy up. If only a few more hours of rest could have been kind enough to stick with her in that night.

"Ugh, better get myself up, lest I end up another headline in the paper", Hotaru mused to herself, as she jerked herself up suddenly. The young men near to her were loudly chattering, their bawdy laughter pounding into Hotaru's already throbbing brain, increasing the spinning of her tired vertigo. While she had worked on drowning out this chatter, it also meant she didn't hear the clacking of an object on concrete, and with her quick, effortless motion, she couldn't help but hit into a young woman behind her. Hard.

One of the delinquents watching let out a hearty laugh as the two girls collided, with the others watching with grins obscured behind their hands. Hotaru reeled back, shaking herself back to reality as her eyes focused on the target of her collision. Eyes widening as she saw the white cane in her hand, and the familiar face.

"Ah! Haruko! I'm so sorry!" she stammered out, unsure of what to say or do. It was unlikely that she was hurt at all; any one in Judo could no doubt take a harder blow than anything little Hotaru could deal out, but Hotaru couldn't help but feel bad for running into her so carelessly.

Working through it, trying to figure out where to jump in
Assuming this is still open

"Hotaru, Hotaru!"

A young girl dashed through the flow of students, darting in between bodies, making her way to another young woman, lurched over and dragging herself forward. Catching ear of the siren-like calls of the girl quickly intercepting her, Hotaru glanced over and let out a weak smile, forcing her arm upwards to give a half-formed wave. The other girl beamed with joy, a smile reaching seemingly from each border of her face.

"So, you want to come over again! Aiko is home so we can probably get her to make us some Castella if we bother her enough"

Hotaru chuckled slightly at the thought but politely declined, raising her hand up to dismiss the suggestion.

"Not today, Kyoko. I have to go to the church before the priest leaves." she explained, swinging her backpack onto her shoulder. "It's imperative that I speak with him, and I'd rather not have to go all the way to his home and bother him."

Kyoko frowned slightly, stamping her foot a bit, "Hotaru! You and all this Christian stuff. You better not be becoming a Jesus freak or something."

Hotaru smirked, "I assure you I am not. It's just that..."

"What"

"Well, last night, I had a dream"

Kyoko's face twisted into a puzzled expression, "A dream, about what?"

"It...It's hard to explain. It was just, dark, and empty, it felt so unnatural. And with the news of the things that have been appearing on that..app, if you could even consider such a monstrous thing a simple phone app! I think something evil is happening, and with people talking about end times..."

"No! Okay, Hotaru, no!" Kyoko snapped at her friend, drawing the attention of some passing students who congregated to gawk at the girls' argument. "I'm not going to tolerate you thinking such stupid things! There is nothing evil or "satanic" about the app. I've talked to several people already who think it's just a hoax. They've made pretty good arguments."

"Look, the whole talk of this thing is just unnerving me, and I think I need to talk to my priest to ease my mind."

Kyoko said nothing, simply frowning at her friend

"Kyoko"

"Fine, fine"

"Good," Hotaru said, mounting her bike as she looked back at the girl opposite her. "I have to go now. I'll call you later. Bye"

As she peddled down the street towards the priests home, thoughts raced in Hotaru's mind. The cognitive vortex was beginning to give her a headache.

Ugh, maybe I just need some water, she thought, catching sight of a convenience store nearby.

I guess I have time to get some water. Father Joji won't be gone that quickly

Hotaru pulled into the parking lot, quickly chaining up her bike and darting past a group of smoking delinquents loitering on the walls. Water was all she needed.

  • Name: Hotaru Ozawa
  • Age: 17
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: Bonjour
  • Personality: Hotaru is a rather mellow and passive young woman. She's typically found at home or at the library studying, and if not there, she is likely working from home or in an activity with her church. A constant hard worker, Hotaru is surprisingly disorganized and messy for someone of her demeanor. Those who have visited her home make note that her room is full of garbage like half-eaten food and empty soda bottles, as well as dirty clothes that act like a second carpet.
  • Skills:
    - Translation: Hotaru's particular specialty is her skill in translation. In addition to a mastery of the Japanese Language, Hotaru speaks English at the level of a native and has high skill in Mandarin, Korean, French, German, Latin, Greek and Hebrew as well.
    - Encryption: In connection to her skill with languages, Hotaru has developed and honed the ability to create intricate and complex cyphers.
  • Equipment: Hotaru carries around a backpack with her that contains a notepad and pens, her work computer, a series of langauge drill primers, and her bible. As well, she's rarely seen without her smartphone, wallet, and her portable game console, usually loaded with an RPG or puzzle game.
  • Soul Arts:
Ghosting: Inserting the Soul Art's chip in her neck behind her ear, Hotaru is able to take on a state wherein her body density can be manipulated, allowing her to change into a lower density state to increase speed and dexterity in battle, as well as increase density to add more power to her punches and take hits better.
  • Brief Backstory:
Hotaru is a native of Nagasaki. Her Father and Mother, Mr. and Mrs. Hiroji and Megumi Ozawa are Roman Catholics who moved from Nagasaki shortly after the birth of their daughter. Since then, the life of the Ozawa family has been pretty ordinary. Aside from their religion, they are a completely normal Japanese family.

Hotaru Ozawa is an average girl in many ways. She is not too popular, but not to vilified. She arrives to her classes on time, has a modestly sized circle of friends, regularly goes to church, and has a facination with video games. Perhaps her only major quirk is her skill with and love with languages and her job as a translator for a video game company. Hotaru first came in contact with Strange Gospel at her school and downloaded it to investigate it, but was horrifed by the content and quickly denounced it as Satanic and refused to assocaite with it any further. When the issues of horrifying and disturbing imagery came up, Hotaru was once again quick to denounce the app as something Satanic and began to encourage everyone around her to cut all interaction with the app and avoid in all possible ways.

As of now, Hotaru has been working as hard as she can to avoid all interaction with Strange Gospel, and devoting herself extra to school work and her job.

Name: Kabal

Age: Presumably mid 40s-Early 50s

Gender: Male

Powers/Skills:
- Martial Arts Skill: Kabal is skilled in the use of martial arts. A seasoned fighter, he utilizes the styles of Goju Ryu Karate and Sun Bin Kung Fu.
- Speed: Kabal's most significant ability is his superhuman speed. Kabal is able to accelerate to super-sonic speeds when running. Kabal usually utilizes this to evade attacks, but as well, it is usable as an offensive tactic, by dashing into an enemy at high speed to knock them off balance.
-Telekinesis: Kabal possesses a minor ability in telekinesis, known as the Nomad's Touch. With it, he is able to pull an object or enemy towards himself, or project himself towards a fixed object.
-Energy Projection: Kabal can project a force of dark energy out from the eyes of his mask, and use it as a projectile attack.

Weakness(es):
-Physical Disability: In the past, Kabal fell victim to a gang of extermination squads during the invasion of his universe by the forces of Outword. The exterminators attacked and mutilated him, leaving him so disfigured that he required the use of a respirator for the remainder of his life. While Kabal is still very much a capable fighter, this reliance on a life-support system leaves a vunerablity that could be exploited.
-Age: While still in a high point of physical performance, Kabal is beginning to reach the upper end of middle age.

Species: Human

Crush: n/a

From: Mortal Kombat (Original Timeline)

Appearance:

Pers: Kabal has devoted his life to the spread of his religion, the cult of Chaos, all across the realms and the multiverse. His greatest, and perhaps only desire left in his late years of life, is to go out and bring anarchy and chaos into the world.

While working with the cleric Havik, the two take two radically different approaches in spreading their gospel. Where Havik spreads chaos by the tongue, Kabal spreads it by the sword. In many ways, one could consider him a sort of dark paladin for his deity.

In his interpersonal relationships, Kabal is very pragmatic, easily forming, breaking and discarding alliances whenever he needs or feels like doing so. He cares not for loyalty, friendship and love, only for being the harbinger of discord.

Bio:
The Man known as Kabal began his life as a member of the organised crime syndicate called the Black Dragon. When his home realm, a version of earth, was invaded, the attacking forces tracked him down and had him brutally disfigured in an attempt to stop him from challenging their rule. This failed, and Kabal took place in the fight against the forces of outworld.

Some time after the end of the invasion, Kabal had left the Black Dragon, but was tracked down by members of a rival organization, the Red Dragon, who sought to kill him to destroy all remnants of the Black Dragon. As Kabal was left to die, he was rescued by a surprising force, a cleric named Havik, from the Realm of Chaos.

Havik aided Kabal back to health and taught him the ways of Chaos, eventually leading to Kabal's conversion. Havik then gave him a new purpose in life, to reform the Black Dragon, not as a Criminal Gang, but as an ideological organization, devoted to the spread of Chaos throughout the realms. Kabal has since been at work forming the group, selecting candidates from across the realms on his travels, and creating converts and cells of Chaos Worship in other plains of the Multiverse.

No stranger to multiversal travel, Kabal had stumbled upon this world, sensing the chaos brewing with in it, and seeking to make it grow.

Other: Being a Warrior-Missionary of Chaos, Kabal is just as likely to try and engage those he encounters in prostelyzation and attempts to recruit them into the Black Dragon as he is to fight them.

Where'd you end up?: City

Are you going to stop the chaos or no?: Not at all, Kabal will work to increase and facilitate the growth the Chaos in this world to a point where it can no longer be controlled
I'm still working on a character, just been sidetracked lately
