Darkhearts: A Forgotten Realms RP

The squeak of that infernal goblin and his cart making its way through the corridor pulled the Drow out of her reverie, slowly opening her eyes and training them on the door. The goblin- she had heard his name, but saw no reason to commit it to memory- did not seem to like coming down here at all, but he especially hated having to come in here with her; shackled or not, he was rightfully terrified, and she delighted in making his work as frustrating and drawn out as she could. A small part of her regretted not having chosen to file her teeth, because it would have made forcing him to force whatever it was that passed for food into her mouth all the more entertaining.

Refusing to cooperate was as much as she was capable of at the moment. All her limbs were shackled, her feet resting on the floor but her arms pulled high over her head, just past what was comfortable. (She always found it interesting that surface dwellers so loathed the brutality of the Drow but were all too eager to carry out the same when the situation presented itself.) Curiously, her fingers were free to move, and she had not been stripped and gagged, and yet she could bring no magic forth; this was certainly no ordinary prison to entirely deny her any of her abilities with so little effort.

And so she had been waiting here, biding her time. Once she found out what she was being held for, she figured she could offer to make herself useful, find more suitable stock for whatever-it-was. Whether she actually would was another matter, but she could figure that out when the time came.

Although from the sounds of it, the time would not need to come. She heard the sound of a scuffle in the next room. The snap of bone. The keys shifting, releasing someone. Eating, drinking. Walking.

And now, walking towards her.

The figure loomed in the doorway. Charynrae surveyed him with silver eyes. He was a large human, which could be a problem, but he was also a man, which canceled out any concerns she might have had. He was an attractive one, at that. That could be useful.

A frown flitted across her face, disappearing as soon as it appeared. “I am no witch,” she said in response. “You have come here to propose something, I imagine. What is it you want?”

Enemies to Lovers to… 18+

They may not be trying to kill each other (or maybe they are!), but they certainly don’t like each other. Maybe there’s some personal history there; maybe they’re just from wildly different cultures that clash. Whatever it is, they’ve been thrown together and have to go with it. Between defying death and other tensions, eventually one thing leads to another…

I’d be interested in playing this in a high fantasy/dungeon punk/magitek setting and have some ideas for my character and the setting, but I’m not dead set on anything yet, so if you have any other ideas please pitch away!

You know those Hallmark Christmas movies? Where the big city girl moves to a small town and falls in love? Yeah, think that.

The Bright

I really enjoyed this film and would love to try a story set in the world. We can discuss what exactly should happen in it, whether more actiony or dramatic, etc.

futuristic dystopian fantasy- think Terminator

I like the Terminator films, and I recently saw Terminator: Genisys and loved it. I don't want to use the characters from the franchise, but I would love to do something similar. I would be fine with using same companies, same premise, etc.

Godzilla inspired

Saw the trailer for a Godzilla/big monster film. There was a line in there about needing to figure out which monsters are friends and which are foe which intrigued me. Maybe our characters are a couple people (could be military, could be ordinary people, lots of options here) end up being "adopted" by a good monster to help them in this new disaster/apocalyptic world.

Lucifer or Supernatural inspired

I’d like to do a story in a similar universe to one of the aforementioned shows. I’ve watched all of Lucifer, but I’m only passingly familiar with Supernatural.

neighborhood superheroes

I'm interested in doing some kind of city level story, maybe someone new to the superhero scene working with someone who's been working the city's sheets for a while now. Maybe a little grittier than something like Spider-Man, but still a local, smaller level thing than what I normally do.

Reflection in the Mirror

A woman keeps her deranged alter ego safely locked in the mirror. I’m thinking maybe some kind of super/anti-hero tale, but I really don’t have much to go on for this idea.

Something needs to be brought in to, or out of, a place, but of course, not all is what it seems. No specific ideas for this one; I just like the premise.

I want to do some kind of supernatural investigation thing. My character's power? Curse proof! That box that grants wishes and takes a blood price for it? It won't work for her. That video where you die in 7 days after watching? Won't work, either. As such, she ends up doing a lot of work with cursed objects.

It's another RPG site. It went live in 2000 and while it has a sizeable player base, it's never been one of the super well known sites at least from what I've seen. It was my first real RPG site after starting out on the Neopets forums!

How come there are so few Table Top Roleplayers here?

I think there are plenty of people here who enjoy tabletop, we just do it on different sites like roll 20 or RPOL that are designed for that.

I second what a lot of other people are saying: Roleplayer Guild isn't the best site for most tabletop games. It's doable, but RPGuild isn't designed for the sheer amount of paperwork many tabletop games require.

I'm also picky about my tabletop games. I've been following the same GM around on this one site for the last decade or so because it can be very hit or miss, just like with any RP, but tabletop games I find require a lot more effort just to get started so I want a decently sure bet.

I want to play the strong-confident-woman-type opposite a complete alpha-male-(werewolf if you're into supernatural things, but I can settle). I'm seeing this as more light hearted than dark and gritty; I had a story started previously on another site where we were going for a sort of Men in Black investigative flavour, but I'm open to ideas. There are a couple of ideas below that might mesh well with this.
