It has been a week today.

MIRA IN THE NIGHT

In a not so distant future, DNA manipulation and transhumanism has re-shaped the world from an organic system to one where technology and humanity synthesized. A Government funded project, NINE, scientists tasked with creating the next gen race after a sudden viral outbreak decimated the world. With only a low 39% survival rate, a vaccine has yet to be released to the general public as all attempts prior end in failure.

Dr Richard V. Dresden secretly worked on his own daughter, Mira. Since birth, she developed a strange mutation along her spinal cord. Her blood test results indicated no change when exposed to the N1R2 virus. Further research indicated complete immunity. However, he figured this out too late— Mira ended up running away as she feared he might kill her if he found out her mutation had not only grown of its own will, but took shape of wings.

She's been gone for over a week, everyday she is on the run. Trying to keep a low profile and escape the city she once thought of home. There is a place West of New York, a place called Sanctuary. Maybe there she might find peace. A new home where her beautiful wings aren't a burden, nor a part of her she has to keep hiding. Along the way, she discovers she isn't the only kid with gnarly secrets.
