"Tch!" Yomiko had hoped this thing would die quietly, but of course it had one more thing to do before it fell. Yomiko had a hard time pulling her katana out of the heartwood and dodging at the same time, so she just had to let go and do some evasive maneuvers. She ran up the treant's body towards the flames just above his hands, and before she'd let herself get hit by the oil fire, she launched her body down to yank her katana out, hit the ground, and roll out of the way before the treant landed on her. She put as much distance between herself and the treant as she could before she watched it fall. Once everything seemed calm she took a deep breath and picked up the satchel. She'll want to investigate it further once she was somewhere safer, perhaps when she makes camp for the night or something. Cleaning the blade with a sheet of paper Yomiko sheathed her katana and kept moving.

Dulga Tarata

Dulga was shocked and listened quietly. Her mind was just a mess of emotions once again. Even as she was calming down, this still didn't make sense. Why did this "Shadow Clan" attack them? Surely this wasn't just a robbery gone bad. Roy said they were specifically attacked, so this must have been an assassination of some sort. But who were the Shadow Clan, and who where they attacking? That's when Dulga looked around the room and slowly, now that her mind wasn't frantic about Kaida, she could piece together a theory. The other people in this room included Reina Mori, a girl with gravity powers. She may be related to the principle considering their similar powers, so perhaps they were after her. Then there was Takeshi and Michiko Yashiro. Ever since Dulga first saw Takeshi she pegged him as a child soldier. She wouldn't be surprised if this Shadow Clan was an enemy of Takeshi's clan. Or he might possibly be from the clan as well, since his quirk does relate to shadows. That too would explain why they would go after him. Then there was Roy. Dulga didn't know much about him however, but that itself could mean there's more to him than meets the eye. Perhaps he comes from a powerful family and doesn't even realize it. And of course there was Kaida. Her powers, her father, that made her all too tempting a target for anyone criminal. Either someone who wants to use Kaida as a bargaining chip, or brainwash her into becoming an enemy as powerful as her father.

For a long while Dulga just stood there looking down at Kaida, her thoughts wondering to all these potential heroes and the enemies they might not even be aware of. Dulga already had her own nemesis she needed to fight. Today's incident reminded her that there are battles being fought everywhere though, and no one was completely safe. "Tch..." It frustrated Dulga even more. She wanted to desperately to eliminate Kensai, not just for her own vengeance, but to make sure he doesn't hurt anyone else. But now Dulga could see there were many more enemies she needed to defeat too, if she wanted to protect the people she cared for. And it just kept reminding her that right now, she was weak. Suitable only to hunt animals and not a real villain. "This will not stand."

Dulga had calmed down considerably and pulled up a chair near Kaida's bed. She sat down and tried to think more about what had happened and how to prevent this. She turned to both Roy and Donny. "I want both of you to tell me what exactly happened and who you were facing. This was no accident. There are people after us. And all of us, even the ones who weren't attacked, need to be prepared." She looked to Kaida, tempted to reach out and touch her hand. She wanted to protect her, protect everyone. She knew she couldn't do it alone though. Not yet. She needed to train, to gather intel, do whatever it took to make sure this tragedy doesn't repeat itself. Quietly Dulga whispered to herself as she rubbed her face and looked serious. "I will save you."

Dulga Tarata

After getting out of school Dulga made a straight line towards the hospital. Her GPS was going to make her take the sidewalks even if she choose a footpath, but she had no time for something like that. She was just going to head in a straight line, damn whatever may be between her and the hospital. She ran from the school through a neighborhood alley. It ended in the back of a house, but Dulga didn't turn around and just climbed over it, digging her hands into the brick and climbing up and over. She did this a few times until she she reached the next obstacle; a riverbank. She could swim across, but there was also a train bridge that went over it too. It wasn't too far so Dulga just took the bridge, but a quarter-way through the bridge she heard a train coming up behind her. She didn't even turn around as she moved to the side and when the train was zooming past her, she jumped up and grabbed the edge of one of the boxcars. She rode the train across the bridge and then jumped off down a hill. She checked her phone; she still had quite a bit of running to do. "Tch. Fine."

Dulga just hit a street when she heard a car coming up behind her. She moved off to the side only for the car to stop right next to her. Mako was driving. "Akane-sensei? So you heard the news then." Dulga got into the car without any fuss. While she didn't want to just sit down and do nothing, this was going to be faster than running. Dulga said nothing during the ride, but the entire way there her thought went back to her chat with Mako in Villain Studies. Those last few words she had with the teacher. "How many have to die before he's stopped? How long do you think I have before he comes here seeking a challenge? You know it as well as I do that he seeks the strongest, and Komei has it. You can hope that he never comes here. I will be ready for him." The girl clenched her fist. Time was running short. Very short.

Soon Mako and Dulga arrived to the hospital. Mako wasn't even at a full stop when Dulga unbuckled from her seat, opened the door, and ran out of the car and into the hospital. She got instead and looked around. Everything seemed normal, but of course it did; it wouldn't do anyone any good if this place was in a frenzy. The first thing Dulga was going to do was ask the receptionist where the Komei students were, but stopped. They had just been attacked by villains; there was no way that the hospital would tell anyone but official Komei staff about their whereabouts, not even students. Dulga took a deep breath and looked for some staircases. She'll have to find Kaida herself. She looked around for the staircase and headed up. She needed to calm down and try not to look like a crazed gunman or else hospital security was going to stop her. Walking helped calm her nerves. It allowed her to focus her mind instead of letting it stay in panic mode, which Dulga silently berated herself. This is exactly the sort of reaction a villain would want from Dulga if they were really after her or Dulga's friends. That panicked reaction where she runs off without telling anyone, going off on her own. There was no justifying her rash actions, though she wasn't going to admit that she was wrong. She just vowed to take better precautions next time.

As Dulga was looking around she spotted an odd site; a bony black mass crawling towards one of the rooms. She recognized it as Donny; try as he might everyone saw his blob form during the second hero course battle. Even if he still tries to hide it at this point it was an open secret. She had heard his name among the students who got hurt, but it seemed like Roy, who Donny was talking to, didn't recognize him. But Dulga didn't really care about that and approached the two boys, her huge and stoic figure looking very ominous in these white halls. Like a hooded grim reaper. "Kusayanagi. Yang. Where's Kaida-" Then she froze. She saw Kaida lay in bed, asleep. Or worse. Dulga ignored the two, even rolling Roy's wheelchair away. "Kaida... What happened?" Dulga turned to Roy. Her eyes weren't angry but scared. "What happened?!"

Dulga Tarata

Dulga simply sighed as she heard this Toru make it clear that this might be a regular occurrence. She had little patiences for foolishness before, and it hasn't gotten any better now. "Fool. Just don't cause any more grief for me or the next time you'll be paying an arm and a leg." She made no attempts to hide her threat, though she figured that making it into a joke would get through to his head better than implications of violence. It was a short trip to the nurse's office; the head nurse was on the phone so Dulga intended to wait a while until she was not occupied. But as they waited Dulga couldn't help but overhear her conversation. That she had found the medical records for the students and she was going to send them over right now. And when she named the students, Dulga realized something terrible: They were all from her class.

"Fool. Stay here and let the nurse check on your arm. Tell her that you've been missing school. I'm leaving." Dulga didn't wait to talk about it as she immediately turned around and left the nurse's office to leave school. There was only one major hospital for the other students to be at, and it'll take her some time to get there on foot. But if she was running, she'll make it in ten minutes. She didn't wait for anyone nor did she let anyone get in her way; if they didn't move then she would move them. Her cloak billowed behind her back as she carried her two large black gun cases with her rear arms, worry hidden underneath her mask. Her friends had been hurt by villains and Dulga wasn't anywhere near them when it happened. How could she have let this happen?

"This is what happens when you let yourself get careless."

Yomiko didn't need to cast a spell to know that one of these vials was an alchemist fire. Just her luck: what better to fight a treant with than fire? As it attacked Yomiko, instead of running away she went closer, jumping off the stone work to avoid it's roots. She only had one shot at this; if she missed than she was going to have to do this the hard way. With roots behind her and the treant in front of her Yomiko hurled the alchemist fire at the treant's body before sliding between it's legs, narrowly avoiding getting herself crushed by it's mighty fists. The glass vial would shatter against the tree monster, and the very air would ignite the alchemist fire and set the whole thing ablaze.

And yet Yomiko knew that this alone wouldn't be enough to defeat the treant immediately. It may find some way to put the fire out, or simple survive the burning. No, if she wanted to finish off the beast for sure, she needed to strike it's heart. Allowing the flames to build and grow on the treant Yomiko continued to play defensive until she saw the right opportunity. Once it made itself apparent, she lunged forward, her katana poised to pierce the heart of the treant once and for all.

Dulga Tarata

As Dulga was walking away a newcomer had joined the drama bomb that Dulga was leaving behind. She would like to have left it as soon as possible, but Mina called Dulga out to assist the boy. Without turning around she rolled her eyes and sighed. She just wanted to go home and do some hunting, but now she had to figure out what to do with this boy. At least everyone started to depart, leaving Dulga and the kid alone. She turned to face him and noticed that he was missing an arm and heavily wounded. Perhaps if he was more panicky, Dulga would've taken things more seriously. But after all the shenanigans she's been through this past week she just caulked up his own nonchalant reaction to his injuries as something related to his quirk. Or he was trying to draw pity attention to himself. Either way she wanted to be rid of him as fast as possible.

"We're going to go to the nurse's office, then the teacher's office. They'll fill you in on what you missed." Dulga turned back around and began walking, expecting the student to follow. "I'm sure your fine if you think eating your own arm is a viable solution to hunger then you come to us to joke about it, but just to make sure you don't end up making a fool of yourself you should follow me." Dulga walked quickly and didn't say anything to him as she headed to the nurse's office. Fortunately it wasn't a far walk.

Dulga Tarata

Dulga gave Jett a hard stare as he teleported between his words. Seemed like his quirk was back now, but gone haywire. She wondered if this was normal for him but put that thought aside. He didn't seem to be in any peril and certainly hasn't shown that he's needed his quirk. As for the talk with his mother, Dulga just shrugged. "She wanted to talk about the the last Hero class training. We had a disagreement." Dulga had no intentions of fully discussing what had happened. Chances are Mina might've heard some of the things Dulga had said; Dulga herself was too emotionally charged to have bothered keeping herself quiet or paying attention to her surroundings. Plus she wouldn't be surprised if her discussion with Adriana eventually gets discovered by everyone else. Dulga didn't care to keep secrets, but she wasn't going to talk freely about it either. And without skipping a beat or showing an ounce of emotion she also lied to Jett's face. "She also wanted to know if you made any advances on me. I told her you peeped on me. She'll talk to you about it later."

Turning to Mina, Dulga stomped her foot on the ground to show that it was okay. "It was a good thing I wore my good boots. It still hurts but I'll be fine." Mina also mentioned Jett's grandfather being rather familiar with Mina, mentioning his relationship with Mina's mother. Dulga looked away sarcastically and thought otherwise, but she had already teased Jett. Going for a double may tip him off to her deception so Dulga elected to talk about something else. "I figured he spoke to you about the same thing Haven-san's mother spoke to me about." Dulga looked at Mina in the eyes and tried to get a read on her current emotions. She wondered if Mina took the conversation the same was as Dulga did; openly defiant but reluctantly acknowledge her issues.

And then someone else came. At first Dulga thought it was Fumika, but the moment she started talking it annoyed Dulga. The way she spoke, the lingo and the attitude, it reminded Dulga all too much of the stuck-up bitches from middle school. The ones who would talk shit about Dulga's appearance and attitude, but never had the courage to actually get in her face about it. And while Dulga had learned to ignore them for the most part, that didn't mean it still didn't bother her. It just reminded her how much of an outcast she was, especially since there was nothing she could do to stop them. What was worse however was how fake they were. Upfront they seemed like nice girls who were just doing innocent and girlie things, but you don't even need to turn your back for too long before their vicious side showed up. And while Dulga didn't know this child she already didn't have a good impression of her.

Then she started asking Jett about Fumika. Dulga had already gotten some idea that maybe this girl was related to Fumika; they looked similar enough. And the fact she was also Motome pretty much cemented that. Then she talked about some sort of incident that happened; Dulga was vaguely aware that some drama had occurred in front of the dorms, but it wasn't something she was concerned about. All she knew that it had to do with Fumika's friends and presumably that's Harukaze. Once Dulga figured that out, she could easily deduce what was going on. This girl, Asuka, was sent on Harukaze's behalf to speak to Jett or Fumika. And if Dulga had to guess, Harukaze is nearby. Asuka didn't seem the type to play middleman unless she was dragged along for it, but Dulga could see Asuka being forced to send a message if one side got cold feet. Dulga has seen this tactic before.

She wasn't going to let this facade go any longer.

"Just tell her to come here. If she's serious she should say it to his face." Snorting, Dulga turned to walk away. "If she wants to speak to Haven-san alone I will be leaving soon. I'd suggest you two come to an understanding. This," Dulga motioned towards Asuka. "Is going to cause a lot of problems. Especially if this is how you talk to Fumika-san." Dulga had little interest getting involved in this drama between Jett and his other love interests. As much as she's willing to joke at his expanse, the current path is just going to result in a lot of heartbreak and agony. Dulga has enough angst to deal with on her own.

Dulga Tarata

Back in her room Dulga had let herself calm down. Adriane's words had struck Dulga deeply. She was still telling herself that she needed to accept it and focus on her goal, but all she was doing was hiding her pain. She clutched her heart and let some tears fall from her eyes. She hated the things she had said, but she couldn't let herself be weak now. There was still so much more she had to do, so much suffering that she had to stop. If she let herself fall victim to it now she'll never recover. "She didn't give her life so I could give up..." After letting herself cry Dulga stood up and grabbed a few of her rifles, locking them away in her gun cases. She was going to stop by her home for a little while. She needed to think a lot about what has happened, figure out what she needs to do now. How to get stronger.

But as she was leaving the dorm Dulga couldn't help but reflect on Adriane's words. She wanted to hate the woman so she could ignore what she had said, but Dulga couldn't do that. Adriane was saying things Dulga didn't want to hear but they were the truth. She wanted to keep lying until she had all her baggage dealt with. It was annoying; it was distracting her from her goal. Or maybe it was showing Dulga what she should really be doing. She shook her head and eventually found herself walking pass some trees. She spotted Mina and Jett chatting in the distance. Over the past week Dulga has slowly gotten over her general dislike for most of the boys in class, save a few. As for Jett, Dulga's initial dislike for him was pretty petty in the first place so she was willing to look past it as long as he didn't bring it up. Frankly she had a bit of respect for the blondie after his quickless brawl with Amane; Dulga knew something was up when he didn't use his quick during their skirmish, so the fact he went all out despite being in a weakened state earned some points from Dulga. Even when you're not at 100%, you can still give them hell.

However Dulga was more concerned about Mina. Not just for her health since Dulga gave her a beating, but also what Jais had spoken to her about. If it's anything like what Adriane said to Dulga, she could imagine that Mina had to hear an earful about their attitudes towards heroism. Though Dulga wondered if Mina was having doubts like Dulga was. While the gunslinger girl knew she could prod Mina with an emotional response, she had a feeling that Mina was much stronger about her beliefs than Dulga was. Dulga was focused, sure, but outside of her target she didn't know how to deal with things like her feelings about her mother or heroism.

"Kasuke-san. Haven-san. How are you holding up?"
