I don't know how much caffeine I've just injested and I'm pretty sure it was all a mistake.

@Lady Amalthea No prob. Should be all set by tomorrow; I'm sick today so I might not get much done over the next 12 hours or so.
@Lady Amalthea
I probably need to edit all of those. I should have it done pretty soon, as soon as I have the ok.

Particularly, I was thinking of adding Helplessness to his fears, Pity and Sleeping to his dislikes, and replacing the trait Arrogant with Twitchy. I'm also probably going to renovate the personality section as a whole.

I think for the most part, Ciel's psyche has taken a turn for the worse. Disaster has really knocked him off his high horse, to say the least. But at the same time, I think that he's made strides in working through his own personal problems instead of whining about it like most kids would. So I'm keeping the headstrong trait, as well as intelligent. But I think that a lot of what was originally on the CS has shifted dramatically.

"Lyon handed her off to me. To keep her out of the cold and all." Ciel explained, with a curt nod. As Tiffany continued, it became apparent she also had questions about the orders they'd been given. That was a bit comforting, to know that he wasn't the only one who was out of the loop. "...I guess you're right, it can't really be the wedding. I mean, I just hope they're not planning to pack up and hit the road, leaving us here to rot...or eat us, or something..." He said after a while, in a low voice as if he were afraid someone would overhear.

After a short pause, it was pretty clear that he wasn't joking. And as much as it sounded like the sort of thing only a paranoid kid would say, it was pretty understandable. All he knew was that a select group of people had been told to report to the leader's house, and everyone else was ushered as far away from the town as possible. And besides that, he hadn't been sleeping and was probably already predisposed to coming to strange conclusions. He remained silent, holding the dog a bit closer.

"...I'm okay, thanks. Ciel said, with a bit of hesitation. This wasn't entirely a lie; he'd definitely been worse. But at the same time, it was kind of a lie. His unwillingness to sleep had given him a splitting headache, and he had to make a conscious effort to stay focused on anything for more than half a second, but at least he was conscious. That was a start, if not a particularly impressive one.

"What about you? How's everything going?" He finished, trying to get the subject off of himself as quickly as possible. He didn't really want to give Ray any time to question the truthfulness of his last statement. Besides, he actually was kind of curious as to how Ray had been faring. They didn't often get a chance to talk, as there was always a lot to be done around Newnan.

He shifted his position slightly, trying to make sure the dog was comfortable. Was Peaches always this heavy? He thought to himself, frowning slightly. He had to give Peaches some props for staying relatively still. She was a good dog, though Ciel supposed she had to be, otherwise someone probably would've eaten her by now. Anyway, her presence at Newnan was far from unappreciated.

Ciel nodded, taking the small dog into his arms and tucking her into Ryan's coat. He really hoped Ryan wouldn't mind a little dog hair.
Ciel actually really liked dogs. They were such earnest, loving creatures. He never had one back when things were normal, but he'd kind of always wanted one. He didn't get to see Peaches much, since he usually had work to do elsewhere, but he genuinely liked the little dog. For the first time in weeks, a genuine smile appeared on his face just for a split second as he gently stroked the top of Peaches' head.

However, he was pretty sure that he hadn't just been summoned to dogsit. He had a feeling that something was going on, especially since Newnan's more veteran members had been called elsewhere. It almost felt like having the newer residents here was to keep them out of the way; to keep them from knowing something. As much as Ciel was curious and a bit suspicious, he kept quiet, as he always did. It was better that he just pretend not to care.

Having the dog with him kept him a bit more alert than he otherwise would have been, but he was still fatigued and noticeably on-edge. His posture was somewhat slumped over, his head low and his knees weak. He hadn't even noticed that he'd dug his teeth so hard into his lower lip that some blood was drawn. But, he was holding it together alright for now. He kept his eyes on Beni and Lyon, wondering if he'd be asked to do anything else other than hold on to the dog.

Ciel nodded quickly, hastily standing up and darting back out the door, throwing Ryan's coat back on as he went. He wasn't sure who else would be there when he arrived at the wall, but on the off chance that Ryan was there, he wanted to return the coat before he lost or damaged it. Just having the thing with him was kind of nerve-wracking.

Running full-pelt down Jefferson street heading towards the outer wall, Ciel couldn't help but notice that his fatigue had not worn off in the slightest. He could stay on his feet easily enough, but everything seemed slower somehow, and his vision had blurred a little. Running probably wasn't helping that, nor was it particularly smart considering his asthma, but he didn't know how urgently he was needed at the wall and thought that getting there as early as possible would be best.

Ciel arrived at the wall quickly, pausing a few minutes to catch his breath. Clearly, running wasn't a good idea, but he seemed to recover fairly quickly. Looking around, he noticed a few people had already gathered there: Amelia, the Ridgeway sisters, Beatrice, Ray. Ryan was absent from the scene, so Ciel supposed he'd have to hang onto the coat for a while longer. He sighed quietly at this realization, his gaze falling to the ground as he returned to anxiously biting his knuckles.

He instinctively stayed a few paces away from the others, not wanting to stand too close to any particular person in case that was weird. He was just waiting to see what Beni and Lyon needed from the lot of them. Whatever it was, they seemed to have called a lot of people to do it. Hopefully it wasn't going to be anything easy to screw up.
Thanks. I'll probably have a post up after Nallore gets one in.
@Lady Amalthea @Sigil
I have a dumb question. Who would have heard the announcement? Is Newnan equipped with a full intercom system or is Ash only paging certain people? Basically, I want to know whether Ciel heard the message or whether he needs to be informed by someone else.

Ciel was caught off guard by Meg's question. He honestly wasn't expecting to be addressed, seeing as he had very little to do with the wedding other than that he planned on attending. "...What? Oh, it's nice. I like it." He stammered out, giving a thumbs up and a very forced grin. His hand was shaking slightly.

He wasn't really into fashion, and in this day and age he wouldn't blink twice if Tatiana walked down the aisle in a potato sack. That said, he did honestly think the dress was a nice looking one. Lucky they were able to find one in Tati's size, he thought. He was sure that Jack would like it as well.

He had straightened up a bit, making a conscious effort to seem as alert as possible. He could feel Tatiana looking at him, and that immediately made him afraid that he was doing something weird. His only objective at the moment was to stay out of everyone's hair. He couldn't fail at that, lest he become a liability... another useless mouth to feed. So far, he felt like he'd been doing okay, which only further fueled his need to not fall behind. Here and now, he felt the best thing he could do was act as normal as possible and stay out of the way until the conversation was over, at which point he'd have to take care of whatever last minute tasks he could squeeze in before the wedding. A long day, for certain, but he felt that was how things should be.

Tatiana and Meg had gone into a conversation about Tatiana's wedding dress. Ciel wasn't really sure what he'd be expected to wear... he didn't have any formal clothes of his own, and hadn't had the nerve to ask Miss Sally about it. He knew he was kind of running out of time, but to be honest he wasn't feeling up to that much social interaction. This was bad enough, and he'd only come along for this because Meghna was the main reason he had a job. Just thinking about having to actually carry on a conversation by himself made him feel sick. He already had to return Ryan's coat at some point today, and even that thought was causing him some anxiety.

He shrugged Ryan's coat off his shoulders, carefully folding it and placing it beside him. If something happened to it, he was afraid Ryan would eat him or something. He rubbed his eyes tiredly, willing himself to stay awake, The idea of unconsciousness had started to terrify him since a while after the outbreak. Just the thought of being completely vulnerable to anything and everything, unaware of his own surroundings. He probably needed a lot more sleep than he was allowing himself to have, but he maintained that it was better this way. Better that he be awake in case of the next inevitable catastrophe.

Ciel silently continued to observe Tati and Meghna, wondering what he'd do after Meg was ready to leave. If she didn't have anything for him to do after she was done talking to Tatiana, he supposed he'd just have to swallow his anxiety and go talk to Miss Sally, and maybe return Ryan's coat if he could find him. Ciel found himself absentmindedly biting the knuckles of his left hand, an old nervous habit of his. He flinched, forcing himself to stop before anyone noticed... at least, he hoped Meg and Tatiana wouldn't notice. He didn't need any more reasons to be worried about what they thought of him.
