@Lady Amalthea Here's his edited personality section:
Most of Jack's personality was influenced by his upbringing. As mentioned in the history section, he was the man of the house, so he took on that role and it became a dominant part of his personality. He's forever taking care of other people, attempting to shield them from harm, and he rarely gives that same attention to himself. It's turned him into quite a selfless person, always willing to be the one to make the sacrifice, and feeling vastly uncomfortable or even guilty when others make it for him.
However, it's also a double edged sword. Jack needs other people in his life. He needs someone to make sacrifices for, someone to cling to, a relationship developed with his mother. He was always around her, and this was furthered with Sutton. He was always around her. He doesn't do well by his own, struggling to find a point, struggling to find something to live for. He has to have someone else there to exist for, in order to have that purpose within his own life. Furthermore, he tends to overreact. When setbacks occur, Jack’s brain spins things into larger situations than they really are, to the extent that his actions may be overkill. He cares so much about other people and ensuring their safety that when things go wrong, it feels like a bigger deal than it actually is.
Jack’s personality has lightened considerably since meeting Tatiana. Falling in love again brought back his goofy mood, causing Jack to make terrible puns and references—he’s the king of Dad jokes. He’s a fundamentally funny and friendly soul, and enjoys doing what he can to make other people smile. He tries his best to find happiness in the darkest of times.
