Slowly, the nausea began to subside. The almost imperceptible motion of the exceptional Helius began to fade. The dwarf listened to the passionate recollection of the white haired lad. The love for his people, and land evident in Bowyn’s speech. For a second, the medic saw behind the walls that the winter fairy had put up to protect himself or perhaps protect other from him. Isolation was isolation. Apparently Rue felt the dissertation deeply as she sniffled back emotion.

Whether he agreed with Bowyn regarding seeking to thrown himself head long into war and killing as many dark elves as possible, it did not keep the young dwarf from validating the reason why the fairy wanted to protect such a memory. Arn knew firsthand that war had a nasty habit of changing people, and places. Certain locations where big battles had been fought in present or olden times had become dead zones. No matter, how stoic, nobody left the battlefield unscathed. War changed you.

I loved my home, and I have seen enough of Avalia that I know without a doubt I do not wish for it to spoil my home.
Arn nodded. “Your home does indeed sound like a worthy place to defend. There is no cause mor righteous than to take up arms to protect.” The young dwarf gave the fairy lad a nod of respect. At least now the medic knew that Bowyn was not just fighting for the sake of fighting. The flame that burned in the winter fairy’s heart would help him keep the cold grip of despair at bay.

The dwarven solider listened to the rest of the lad’s speech. A slight smile painted on his face as the lad explained
his position. The dwarf did not disagree or had issue with anything that was said. After all, they were strangers. Why should he expect these two to give up their lives for him? That was not something he would ask of them to begin with. Yet, in his heart, he knew that he would protect them, strangers or not.

When Bowyn finished Arn gave him an acknowledging nod. “I do not seek anything of you Bowy. If allies are all that we are meant to be then so be it. I welcome it. I shall walk by your side as long as our paths take us. If I am able to even in some small way prevent this war from reaching your village, then I gladly accept my role.” He offered him a weak smile because his body was stills suffering from the vertigo of the flight. “I promise you also that no harm shall come to you via my hand. However, I hope you do not begrudge me being unable to leave you to harm if any is to befall you. I will do it with no payment or repayment in mind.” The medic shrugged. “I am vowed to heal the sick and care for the wounded.”

“If your letter is from the dwarven king, and he is supporting the light elves in the war, why do you need to hide your position in his army?”

Arn took a deep breath. His mind weighing in the answer that he was to give the winter fairy. “Thank you for being so open with me. So I shall attempt to return the favor. A dwarven Legionnaire does not serve as a lone asset. While it is not strange for a dwarf to explore the world, it is done while on leave and in civilian manner. A single dwarf in Legion issued gear will raise some eyebrows for sure.” He adjusted his armor as if the weight of the things he was saying had become physical. “The secrecy was imparted on me by the king itself. I promise to reveal more when we have a less likely audience.” He looked around to drive home his point.

”You are a good dwarf Arn; I sure hope the others have your kindness and selflessness. The world could use more of it than the cruelty we saw yesterday.”

Rues comment actually caused Arn to break into a tender look. Her comment had truly touched him. He smiled in her direction and nodded to her too. “I am afraid you think too much of me Miss Rue but I am thankful for the sentiment regardless. I agree with you that this world would be a much better place if people talked before submitting to violence but unfortunately, that is not so. Therefore, I commit to saving as many lives as I can. If that be by my medical skills or by delivering this letter and its contents to the Princess of the Light Elves then so be it.”

There was a firmness to his voice that was not normally there. He did indeed want to save lives, even those of the dark elves. In the medic’s eyes, any life was important. He was just saddened that some people decided to cause harm and pain while living their lives.

”Bowyn’s right. Why are you trying to hide so much?”

Arn looked at the winter lass in a pensive matter. “Miss Rue, as I have promised. I will reveal as much as I can without harm. I promise I do not keep this from you to vex you but I hope you understand that in these times one must be wary. Also, I fear that you think I am holding some big secret. In deed, I feel that the truth may leave you with more questions. What I can tell you freely is the following. I was raised by my mother and father..” He paused a little at this but continued on. “My mother’s name was Vera and my father’s is Thur Battlehammer.”

He took a deep breath again as he alternated looking at either fairy as he spoke. “As required by our kingdom, I enlisted in the military when I came of adult age. I trained in the medical field as a combat medic but I am also able to perform certain surgeries and other type of care. As a medic, I hate taking life. That does not mean that I will allow my allies to be harmed.” He looked at Bowyn when he said this as if to make a point that the fairy could trust him on this.

“This also does not mean that I will not take life if absolutely necessary. I just believe that peaceful resolution should be given a chance. I was recently appraised of some information that I am not at liberty to share right now but I promise you I will. It is this new information that started me on this quest. Though I must say that despite the distress I felt when I first heard it, I am glad that it allowed me to cross paths with you two.” He shrugged as he did a flat slightly uncomfortable smile.

“A Legionnaire often forgets that there is a bigger world out there when we are looking at the world over the rims of our shields or the confines of a cavern. Perhaps one day I may be lucky enough to visit your village.” He offered the two a friendly smile.

It ate him up that he was not able to be fully open with them but his duty as a soldier still overruled his own feelings. Why was he such a good damned soldier. He was not part of the military machine. There was not rank structure to follow. Orders and regulations did not apply to clandestine operations such as these.

However, for a foot soldier such as him being thrust into the unknown on a mission he had basically no information about to do the gods knew what, his training was the anchor that allowed him to keep putting his foot forward. War was about to break over the world of Avalia like the fires of a forge. All the inhabitants would be pounded between hammer and anvil and only the gods knew what would be left over.
Arn returned the stare of the shadow man who had identified himself as Troumaline. The master mage’s eyes were devoid of any feeling though in the inside of him he there was confusion. History had recorded the man before him as a hero. There were a myriad of books in the library at the Academy that detailed exploits and even assumptions on the life of this mysterious mage who had appeared out of the shadows to become basically the savior of Ith.

The men who stood before him, however, felt nothing like the merciful hero that he had read about and even had courses on. One thing the master mage could not deny was the fact that the power that emanated from the shadow man lived up to the legends and stories.
The pressure he felt on the Aether was tremendous. It was almost as if the Thread itself was trying to escape from being too close to the man. What kind of fools or demented people would bind such a powerful being to a fragile girl like his Eilis, no matter how brave she was? He needed to find out more.

Arn did not need the ancient mage to tell him that they could not easily liberate his protégé. The warning regarding the danger of attemptin such a procedure weight heavily on the Mage’s heart. But he knew that perhaps it would be best for his blonde companion to die and be free than continue this life of slavery. She had on many occasions begged and had him promise that he would not allow her to become a tool of destruction.

He shook his head, no there had to be a way to ensure not only a successful transfer but also keeping the young girl alive. “Master Tourmaline” The battlemage said respectfully. Not because he wanted to sweet talk the shadow man but because regardless of the current situation of the man causing harm to his charge, Arn truly felt respect for the shadow figure in a professional level, especially if the shadow figure was truly Troumaline. “I will do all I can and all I must to see Eilis free…”

“I fear we have no more time to converse…for the now at the least…your presence is required as the Empire is closing in on its victory. Take my advice…take the girl and leave…there will be nothing but death for you and her here in this land.”

Arn was cut short by the shadow man. He nodded understanding and agreed that this chaotic battle sky was not the place to strategize or figure out how to proceed with liberating Eilis. “Very well, but you have my promise that this will not be our last talk and do not worry, I would not burned Eilis with worrying about the decision I already have made.”

It would hurt him to keep his lovely charge in the dark about transferring the shadow man unto himself but like Tourmaline had said, she would never allow it. Sometimes, it was more merciful to leave such things unsaid.

Through his connection with Eilis he felt the powerful presence slowly fade. The Thread stopped throbbing and instead resumed its even hum almost as if it was taking slow deep breaths after being frightened.

Regaining his senses, the din of battle was deafening. The mage even had to shake his head to shake of the shock. He felt the body of Eilis go a little limp. It made sense as the pressure that Troumaline had placed on not only her Thread but her body must have exhausted her. When she came to, her screaming reaction was understandable.

Arn leaned in close as she spoke directly into her ear. “Eilis, Eilis, its ok. You are safe. We need to get out of here.” The mage helped her sit back down and tried not to touch her open wounds. “WE need to get you healed up.
I know you are probably weak but are you able to draw power from me to heal yourself.”
He looked around not only to identify any threats but looking for specific people. “Where the hell is Tobi and Tryhallan…” he muttered under his breath as he prodded this mount towards the part of the sky that looked like it had the least amount of fighting on it.
Is Tyrhallan's mount dead? Also, If I remember correctly, you said that there were small, single person air craft flying around? I want to make it believable. I am worried our party may not survive the encounter lol. Are you sure you are not a DnD dungeon master who sticks to the rules like glue? lol
Tobi was used to free falling from the carrier ship unto their target like any other Shooting Star. However, this was usually done with jet packs or even fast roping. Being manhandled by the silver haired Knight Captain was not something he would call enjoyable. Alexa on the other hand was living the dream. Not only had she been able to fight alongside her hero on a daring and deadly assault but he was not holding her in his arms. The explosions and exploding salvo around them only seeming like spotlights for Tyrhallan's splendor.

The young mage uttered a grunt as the trio landed. He stood up shakily and nodded at the praise and apology from the Venray Lord. “We are all warriors Captain Venray. My lads knew what they were doing and the price that is often paid. It just sucks we they could not take more of those sons of bitches down with them. I guess that falls on us”

Alexa looked in Tobi’s direction and he made a face and shook his head. He might be cut and bruised but he would be dammed if he let the haughty blonde nurse him like some pup. He had his pride and he was also a bit jealous of the way she looked at the Knight Captain but he would not allow himself to acknowledge that.

Rolling her eyes at the rude grimace the young mage made the young lass popped tall and spoke clearly with a hint of happiness in her voice. “Captain Venray, we are both still able to perform. Please lead on.” It was Tobi’s turn to roll his eyes as he mockingly repeated what the girl said below his breath as he made sure he did not have any serious wounds. Other than some burns and flesh wounds he seemed to be ok.

As the pair stepped up to stand next to the taller man, they heard his gasping no. Both looked up to see him with question in their eyes and looked back at the scene. At first it seemed just like any other battle that was being fought around them. At least to Tobi who could only make out two armored men going at it. It was not until Alexa echoed Tryhallan’s gasp that the young mage figured it must be somebody important.

So Important in fact, that Tyrhallan boosted away, the ripple of the Aether almost pushing the young mage away from sheer surprise. “What the fuck?” Tobin said as he caught himself from tripping. “Where the hell is he going?” the young man said trying to follow the blur that was Tryhallan as he jumped the great distance.

Alexa was stunned for a second as she realized who the man was. She had studies and read books about Uilles Venray and her father had regaled her with valiant deeds. To see him so pressed in such a manner stole her breath. Add that to the shock of seeing the Knight Captain disappear amid the barrage of weapon’s fire and she went white as death.

Thankfully, Tobin’s spunky attitude came to the rescue. Alexa felt a descent slap on the back of her head as the young mage wacked her to try and get her attention. “Hey love bird, snap out of it. What the hell are we going to do? Master Mage Arn needed us to bring him back. It seems the Knight Captain has a death wish.”

Alexa pushed the young mage away. “You insolent fool!” She yelled at him anger and concern mixing. “That man over there about to be killed was his uncle Lord Uilles Venray! What else can we do but try to help both of them.” She pulled out a small whistle and blew on it. Hopefully her mount had survived the incessant air battle.
Sorry about my lack or Arn post. I was having mental fart. I will try to post something today or tomorrow. Also, I watched city of Demons where you got the voice of Tourmaline and It gave me a good idea how much of a jerk the dude is lol. If he is anything like Nargal that is lol.
I have been working under the premise that the Shield is hated as much as Naofumi was correct? but just how much animosity is there towards him? Also, I believe you did say I could learn magic since that is not technically something that is not available to the Shield. But then again, what kind of spells will you allow. Defensive only or attack as well?

The young soldier tried his best to keep his stoic composure. He had been trained to keep his cool in the face of an incoming orc horde. As a medic, he had been seen more blood and gore that some adventurers had seen in their whole lives without even feeling queasy. Yet for some reason riding on the veritable flying death trap as the white haired fairy lad was thinking, seemed to be challenging him on a level he was not prepared.

Arn did not want to lose whatever image his reluctant companions had of him. They probably expected him to be some sort of strong and stable dwarf given that he had introduced himself as a soldier. In truth, there was little that frightened the young medic other than loosing patients and loosing himself in a bloody carnage haze from which he could not wake from.

Unknown to Bowyn, Arn was actually a pretty good asset. He was skilled in healing and combat triage. Known as Death’s Torn, many in his squad owed their lives to him. Despite the fact he avoided fighting, he was not opposed to defense. While the actual benefit of the trio’s addition to the Light Elven princess’ party was still uncertain, it would indeed be interesting.

Unknown to Arn, the white haired lad had noticed the dwarf’s awkwardness towards ladies, especially pretty girls such as Rue. It was not that Arn was feeling romantic inclinations towards his fairy companion but that he truly appreciated the beauty reflected in her. He, like many of his race, was not good with emotions that did not stem from pride, outrage, or drunken stupor.

These romantic feelings would not be required for the young soldier to be a shield and protector, not only to Rue but also to Bowyn. Though they had just met and the pair of winter fairies were nothing more than strangers, The medic would ensure no harm came to either. Not because he was some sort of chivalrous knight but because he had taken a vow to safeguard life.

“You should be afraid. Creatures aren’t meant to fly like this, it’s stupid. Big metal cage being flung about in the air, who even thought this was a good idea? Probably elves.”

Arn nodded his agreement slowly. “You have my backing on that statement M…” He stopped, not only because he was about to say the annoying word Bowyn hated but because he felt a gurgling on his stomach. “The creatures that were meant to fly already have the means to do so. While I do think that the design and engineering that went into constructing the Helius was masterful. (burp)”.

He stopped again. He found that talking actually helped him concentrate on something other than the almost imperceptible motion of the Helius that only he and probably the winter fairies seemed to be attuned to. After a second or two of fighting his upset stomach he continued.

“Dwarves are nothing if not industrious and we always seek to push the boundaries of the possible. The Helius has been instrumental in the increase of transportation of marketable goods and has even been considered for military applications.” He remembered the slower, bulkier version that the Legions had trained on. They had been little more than cattle or bulk goods. Compared to that one, this Helius was actually quite roomy and felt less claustrophobic.

“Any sort of plan for when we get to River Port?”

In truth, the young soldier had no idea. This was the reason why he had desperately sought Bowyn’s advice though he felt it was little more than drunken bragging by the white haired lad. The only thing he knew was that his newly revealed royal father had told him where to go, who to seek and what to deliver. A scroll, sealed with the royal seal, had been presented to Arn. He in turn was to present it to Princess Annya. The meeting with the King had been rather brief and not enlightening at all.

Arn had hoped that it would have revealed more of the reason why he had been sent into secrecy to the extent of having one of the kingdom’s most famous generals as his step father. Yet, it soon had seemed that the revelation had been nothing more than a tactical move following the unfortunate demise of the true heir to the throne. Even now, the memory of it cause a spark of anger to build up on the otherwise calm and collected Arn.

“M…I mean Bowyn. I must be truthful in saying that my plan is very simple. I need to find Princess Annya and am to present a letter to her given to me. I then believe I am to offer my services and be of use in any way I can. I have a very passing knowledge of River Port but I assume the princess, much like me, will not travel in an obvious or official manner….” He trailed off.

The young soldier remembered how easily the fairy lad had seen he was part of the Ironhold military. Not that it mattered too much, but perhaps he needed to find something much less conspicuous. “I believe I may need to find some different gear or something to cover my unit issued armor.” He admitted to his companions.

It was not his intention of keeping secrets from the but he did not know if he should fully trust people he had just met. After all, spies were sure to exist. There was no way that royalty and high profile individual such as the ones who had been sacrificed would have been taken so easily without months of surveillance and inside assistance.

“Bowyn….” Arn suppressed a burp. “It seems you and Miss Rue know each other. That is fortunate I hope. I have to confess there are not many if at all, who I can call friend. Would either of you mind telling me about your home…” His voice became softer as a small jostle was felt from the Helius. “It would sure help distract me from this horrid travel motion sickness.”
And is it Tobias/Toby or Tobin?

It is Tobias or Toby. I think I misspelled that one time for Tobin lol. Toby is his nick name.
Fer remained silent as Cole made his declaration. The shield could not blame his companion for choosing to allow the king to decide the fate of the criminal. It was not easy to carry the burden of taking somebody’s life. The ex guerilla fighter knew first hand that if there was even the slightest amount of regret in your heart, then the guild would eat you alive.

Instead, the young hero only made a slight bow to acknowledge that he supported his friend. Regardless of what he may think, he had promised Cole that he would support him and be by his side. He also understood Auriel’s position.

The angelic warrior was used to dealing out death and punishment to monsters and other hellish beings. Passing free judgment on a human was a bit more touchy. The shield hero could understand why she felt that the decision for such matters be better left up to the two of them. After all, she had pledged her loyalty to them. There was not much more that the pair could ask of her.

Still, Fer hoped that their relationship would not be too strained after this discussion. He had seen good friends quarrel for less. It dawned on Fer that there was not really much that tied the trio together other than a common acknowledgment that they now held legendary weapons and that they were to defend this world from the waves.

Other than that, the trio knew very little about each other. His companions did not even know that he had killed many men before and had watched many of those that he would at least call companions die. He had seen his own little brother die and longed to return to the side of his sister. What was Maria doing now? Did time stop in his world or was she lost and alone? A heavy feeling formed in the pit of the young hero’s stomach a the prospect of his sister being defenseless.

His eyes registered Cole’s exit and he followed him with his eyes. Auriel had exited the same way. Fer looked down at the near death body of Ryla Winters. His gut told him that keeping her alive might be a danger in the future. People like her neither forgave or forgot. Still, he was not such a cold blooded killer that he could just end her life like that.

Perhaps Cole was indeed the most merciful and the thought made Fer smile. Such a valiant heart and purity would be needed to remain on the side of good. Though he could scarlessly call himself an emissary of righteousness. The young shield too a long deep breath weighing and taking it all in.

In silence, Fer watched the Marcino perform some sort of magic ritual. Magic was still intriguing to Fer who had been raised in a remote village and where people still could be murderous towards witches. This could be considered witchcraft and the mercenary would no doubt be tried as a witch and probably stoned by the fanatics of his village.

Then again, the fools would probably stand little chance against the blade and magic of the ex gladiator. In wonder, not matter how many times he had seen Auriel also use magic, he saw the wound heal. The aura that covered the body of the bandit queen was just visible in the torch light. Fer made a mental note of asking the mercenary if he would teach him some spells.

As if prodded by Fer thinking of him, Marcino imparted his no holds barred wisdom. Fer listened as the gruff voice of the older man delivered the unabashed truth. The young hero was no sure if Marcino was trying to elicit any sort of response from the young man or if the ex gladiator merely was expressing his view of the relationship between he party. Whatever the case, the young hero was left alone without being able to give his response.

Finally, Fer was left alone. The ground was still dark where the blood of the bandit leader had lain close to death’s door. It was true that the young hero did not bring much to the table in terms of offensive capabilities but there must be a reason for his existence. There must be a reason for the Shield’s existence. Or was there?
He looked down at his green jeweled bracer that housed his shield. The gem did not glow or show any signs that it knew it was being studied. After a second or two, Fer sighed and followed his company out of the cave.

====

The company did not speak much. Fer assisted in ensuring no prisoners escaped which meant that he was not often close to Cole or Auriel. His mind mulled over what Marcino had said. He agreed that he was little more than a glorified shield bearer. There must be a way to increase his efficiency. His mind kept on returning to magic. Would he be able to or allowed to learn magic? Auriel had offered to teach him some spells. Were there offensive spells he could learn? Also, he had somehow unlocked a new feature on his shield when he had absorbed Ryla’s attack. How could he unlock more abilities?

There were many questions and he needed answers. But who could he ask? It seemed that Auriel had found very little in the library. Marcino was accurate in the general population view of him. If he had the chance he would pursue looking into that country that Marcino mentioned that housed demi humans. Someway, some how he needed to become stronger. Their fight with the bandit leader had shown all of them that they were still too weak. The waves were less that a few weeks away. He needed to become stronger.

The company relinquished the bandits to the authorities who treated them worse than the company of heroes. After all, they had been a thorn on their side for some time. There was much slapping behind the head and shoving. Fer sighed, Cole was truly a good man.
The party was allowed to rest and refresh themselves before being summoned by the king. Unlike Cole, Fer was not give a fancy uniform to wear. Which meant his armor and clothes were a bit more worn and sported nicks and dents. They had been ushered into a fancy room and Fer sat opposite of Cole.

“Fancy clothes you got there buddy. If I had known we needed to go shopping I would have looked for something more suitable.” He joked trying to liven the mood and reconnect with his companion.

Tobin held a perpetual grimace as he came in third behind Tyrhallan and Alexa. Both knights, have almost similar battle styles, though to the mage all knights just swung their swords around, cleared the deck of possible enemies. The efficiency and deadliness of the silver haired lord was jaw dropping. It made sense why the Knight Captain chose to wear the crimson armor of his. Any other color would have soon been stained with blood.

“Note to self….dont ever get on Captain Venray’s bad side” the young man said under his breath. He remembered how efficient at killing his own master was. They had different ways of sending people to their deaths but the aura that was projected by Arn and Tyrhallan was basically the same.

As it was, from his vantage point, the young mage could see the armor gleaming in spots where the few specks of blood had managed to land on the armor from otherwise clean kills. The deck because red with blood and gore. If Belisio had a battalion of people as skilled as Tyrhallan, the Viemese would have been hard pressed to invade.

Movement to the left of him made Tobi shoot another concentrated beam of light. The would be sniper yelled as his eyes were literaly seared from his body. The young mage knew that battle and death went hand in hand but he had never seen such loss of life. Their skirmishes with bandits and pirates ended very quickly. Probably because Arn cleared entire decks by himself. Seeing the dead bodies of his squad mates, Tobin understdood the master mage’s commitment to be first, to be the best and to keep every one safe.

The young mage uttered a silent promise to Lornias and Valen and Frer. “I promise you boys, I will make sure your sacrifices were not in vain. I will get stronger. Lend me your strength”.

Alexa’s view however, was one of fanatical adoration. Her lovely blue eyes took in every move the blade dancer made. At least the ones she could see. Even with her training, he was as much a blur to her as the unfortunate soldiers he dispatched. She felt she was seeing an artist. So beautiful were the movements that she started to tear up.

She shook her head, clearing her eyes of the crystalline tears. Just in time too, as from a depression to her right, a soldier stood up and jabbed at her with a long spear. She parried the blow using the flat of her blade and spinning into it, she allowed the long shaft of the spear to roll along her stomach. With a back hand swing, she caught the man at the other end just under the helmet slicing his neck and throat.

The move cause her to loose some ground and she had to rush to catch up to Tyrhallan who had must reached the stairway and was calling for her. In a fluid motion she sheathed her sword and got to him as quickly as she could. Using one hand on the railing and one hand to secure the mine, she climbed as quickly as she could, felt a few bullets swish by her and she instinctively ducked but made her ways up the short flight of stairs.

Tyrhallan tasked the young mage from ensuring that they all would be able to retreat. “What the fuck am I supposed to do, blind them to death?” he thought to himself but obediently and efficiently picked up a weapon from the deck and a few other magazines and barricaded himself behind some debris and shot at any approaching from behind them or to the sides. He was a decent shot, all mages underwent weapon’s and close combat training. After all, there were times when the mage could not just rely on the Aether.

Alexa did as the Knight Captain commanded and placed the mine against the glass. She saw the look of horror and the panicked retreat of those inside. She hand only heard about the poor fool who had made the mistake of messing with such a mine and had managed to be immortalized as a regulation in the rules and regulations of the knights. Based on the reactions she saw from beyond the glass, maybe the mandate the prohibited such weapons was well founded.

The Knight Captain forcefully grabbed her off and they both jumped off. The distance would have been too much on her legs if the white haired man had not utilized his booster pack. She had planned to jump off anyways and infused her legs with some Ki and tucked and roll but maybe that would not have been enough. She might be young and barely out of being a cadet. In fact, she still did not even haver her own insignia, her shield rank still bare, but she was a capable fighter.

All the Brightwind’s took their training seriously. Their motto was “Trial Through Arms”. This meant that for them, being proficient was a way of life and the only way to uphold their honor. Having the honor of fighting and learning next to the Venray’s they were bound to made her feel ecstatic. It could also be the adrenalin running through her veins.

“To the edge!”

Tobin heard the strong commanding voice of the Knight Captain shout. Even if he did not know the man personally and trusted him, the command would have still made him abandon his firing position and run like hell next to them. A few shots rang out and one grazed him on the shoulder. The young mage hissed but he did not stop.

The explosion that rocked the ship was made him stumble. Strong arms closed in around his waist. Tobin weighed next to nothing for a young man. In fact, it was possible Alexa had more muscles mass than the lad.

“Hold on tightly!”

The young mage was not too proud to secure himself against the taller stronger knight as the trio jumped into the air, a burst as the contusion wave that followed the explosion propelled them forward at break neck speeds. They all could probably feel the heat of the explosion as the mine decimated the ship which was already on a collision course with its nearby neighbor.
“Arn was right…fucking knights are crazy!” The young man thought looking back at the ball of fire and sounds of warning bells and whistles.
