I'd love to do a yuri scene with ya, but I'm completely unsure about a possible scenario. Maybe the RivalxRival thing where I could imagine the two characters being in the same sport club in school/college/uni or something like that, but I'm open for anything, really.
Sapphira laughed. "Nah, that's not weird. Trying to build a capitalistic trading empire in a virtual world is weird." She stuck out her tongue before a beeping sound informed her of the arrival of a new message. Cinera had sent her reply. "Ah, well. If they helped you, they're good in my book. I'm at the inn. Got another companion, if you want we three can share a room. Less expensive that way and then we'll see what we're going to do tomorrow. Does that sound like a good idea?", Sapphira replied.
I hope my contest post is fine :P Although it took a lot more time searching for the fitting music than actually writing it. I'm a major lover of all things music.
A strong wind disturbed the torn up cape worn by a small figure from behind. The faunus girl wearing that hood looked over a field. A field ripe with wheat reddened by blood. "General Dawn?" A soldier dressed in a blue uniform walked up next to the girl. "The enemy brought reinforcements. Our left flank is failing. What do we do?" Skyra Dawn, thirty years of age, frowned and knelt down. "Zina, do you think there is hope for peace? Will they retract the law if we surrender now?" The serious look on her face deepened in thought. Of course Zina knew, these questions were just rhetorical, so she didn't answer them. For a long time, ever since Skyra graduated from Beacon, Zina had been a friend of hers. Both moved to another city that had been founded pretty recently as the local hunter force to train the local police force pretty soon afterwards, but things went south pretty soon. A new king got onto the throne of the city who turned the newfound paradise into a hellhole, especially for faunus. Skyra Dawn was the first one to call out the wrongs and warned the king to reverse the laws he made before major revolts would happen. Naturally the king did nothing at all, but to chase Skyra, Zina and their allies out of the city. Now, after a year of war between the Alliance and the Royalists both sides met fiercely in the wheat fields outside the city in one final, decisive battle. Currently, though, the mercenary forces of the king, Zina had got word, were winning both flanks, except for the centre, where Skyra and Zina had wreaked havoc among the enemy troops and caused them to rout. "Zina..." The addressed girl turned back to Skyra, who spoke in a very mournful tone. "Do you think this was a mistake?" Heavy laid the thought of what could have happened if they hadn't risen up to fight for their rights. In the end, they could have moved back home and avoided the war, but would that have been for the best? "No. No it wasn't. Standing up for the freedom of others is what you've always strifed after." Zina pointed out and Skyra nodded solemnly. "I guess there is only one final thing we're able to do to save our cause, hm?" Her hands found her blades and gripped them tightly. "Stay safe, then, my friend." Zina replied fully knowing what Skyra intended to do. The cat faunus jumped down the small rise onto the bloodied field and turned around one last time. "Follow me with your best troops in about fifteen minutes.", she exclaimed and then vanished from view. For Zina these minutes were probably the most painful in her life so far as doubts about the well-being of her friend beset her. Skyra had decided to almost literally jump right into the lion's den. But if she managed to pull off everything she wanted to, the city could possibly even be a democracy. As the painful minutes had passed, Zina rushed forward followed by her most skilled warriors, whom she and Skyra had trained personally.
Another ten minutes later, they arrived at the king's camp. Commotion was everywhere when they where spotted and rose even higher as the elite troops smashed into the completely unorganized king's guard. Ignoring every other challenger on her way, Zina hurried into the king's tent and watched as her friend removed her blades from the king's lifeless body. "It is done, Zina!", she breathlessly stated with a big smile on her face, then she sunk to the ground, her face tormented by a sudden inability to keep herself up.
"Dammit... it's poison... One of the guard's blades must've had poison on them." Eyes wide Zina caught her friend before she could fall to the ground. "Hey, Sky, don't you dare die now that we won...", she whimpered. Skyra smiled as the venom slowly took her strength. "I never thought, I'd be killed by lowly poison..." Carefully Zina laid the cat faunus onto the ground, her eyes already filled with tears. "Hey, Zina... tell... tell her I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not being there for her and the kids..." Zina nodded robbed of her ability to speak. "I'm sorry, Maya... mom won't come home to train with you today..." Skyra coughed and smiled her final smile. "'tis a terrible day for rain, innit...?"
Two years later:
"Welcome to Sky City, we are honoured this year to host the Vytal Festival for the very first time! But all of this would not be possible if not for our city's national hero and all the fallen men and women who served under her. She inspired us to greatness and so I, Zina Ferris, mayor of this wonderful city and the city's newest top rookie huntress, Maya Dawn, are here to celebrate the life and death of her mother, Skyra Dawn. No matter how hard her passing might have hit us, we thank her for what she did." "I miss you, mom. I hope you're proud of me!"
