@GingerBoi123: That sounds perfect!! I think we've got enough interest to work on the OOC and Character sheets, and all of that will have some more info for you. There will be loads of options such as personal bodyguards (for the MARCH scientists etc) or guards of MFB1. :)

@Orixi: Military is one of the possible options! So far, on the mock-up character sheet, we've got different roles such as Military Personel, Scientists, Government Officials, Janitorial / Engineering (General Caretaking etc.). But pretty much anything as long as you can give us a feasible reason! Some examples we've thought of so far have been a journalist doing a story on the complex, or more hilariously, the mailman XD
As for the tech, it's going to be utopian futuristic, think green energy, monorails, and touchscreen everywhere. If you know overwatch, similar aesthetic to Symmetra's design, Sleek and clean.
No military jargon required, neither of us is particularly knowledgeable! If you want to look it up and throw some in for your character, then feel free!

Hello!! This is one of my first hosted roleplays after a long break from RPing, and I'm planning to co-host it with the wonderful @Lady Avalon! This is Annette will be a sci-fi/horror RP focussed around a new AI within a militaristic/scientific complex, where Annette, the first ever sentient AI, has begun to go wrong.

This is Annette: Intro

"T̸h̸i̶s̷ ̶i̸s̷ ̷A̴n̸n̵e̸t̵t̶e̴.̸ ̶D̷o̸ ̵n̵o̶t̴ ̵p̴a̴n̸i̸c̴,̴ ̵e̸v̶e̸r̸y̵t̶h̵i̴n̵g̸ ̴i̸s̶ ̶u̵n̴d̵e̶r̷ ̴m̷y̷ ̴c̷o̶n̷t̷r̶o̵l̷.̷"

The calm, emotionless voice pierced through the MARCH Forward Base 1 (MFB1) as it always did, only this time it sounded different, off somehow. The robotic voice that was so familiar raised goose bumps on arms and caused concern amongst co-workers. The words were known across the whole complex; only ever spoken when it was put on complete lockdown. The cause of this specific lockdown was unknown. There were a few possibilities, such as biochemical outbreaks, a virus, or potential terrorism, but this? This seemed to have no cause.

“This is no reason to worry.”

The Director of Operations’ voice floated over the intercom, which was slightly more comforting to hear. People began to relax; the danger would pass, whatever it was. General Mariam Diarra was a trusted leader, both on and off the battlefield, and her time at MFB1 has been no different. Any bug or glitch in the system would be fixed within moments, as these things occurred frequently in the early days of establishing The Net, a self -learning AI, which the creators have nicknamed Annette. People trusted that a small issue like this could be solved.

The creators of Annette were a team of young coders and idealists, named MARCH due to their initials. Each of them had a different scientific background, and they used their combined talents to create the world’s first fully sentient AI. The more Annette’s popularity grew, the more she learned. She was in every home, every system, the entire city was powered by her. From home security to the police weapons, personal assistants to self -driving public transport. Everything was connected, she saw everything, and she retained everything. Her birthplace was in this very complex, almost 50 years ago, and she was an instant hit: Everybody adored her.

When the auto-defence systems of the complex activated, and the protective barrier erected around the entire complex, however, that was when the adoration began to die. General Diarra tried to make a phone call, and found the line dead; all of the lines were dead. Then Annette spoke,

“T̵h̷i̷s̴ ̷i̸s̶ ̶A̶n̶n̷e̴t̴t̸e̴.̵ ̶W̸h̴e̴r̷e̸ ̷i̸s̴ ̸M̷A̶R̵C̴H̶?̸”

There will be more backstory and a character sheet written out when there's a bit more interest shown, but we're both ready to go! Feel free to ask any questions as well, in case we haven't thought of the answers.

The Painted Hunstman – Azazael

Azazael’s eyebrow raised as the robed man spoke to him of his concerns. A mind reader? I’ll have to stay aware of that, could be dangerous, never enjoyed people who have more knowledge than they should. At least his motives seem decent, that’s a starting point I suppose. And, whoever you are, I can assume you’re listening to everything I’m thinking now, how reassuring. Azazael smirked as the summoner moved on to the others in the group.

As the summoner did so, Azazael glanced around the gathering a second time, trying to garner more information than he had managed to previously. Sometimes you have to know your friends better than your enemies, for it can be hard to tell the two apart. Everyone in the group was rather attractive, as if they’d been written as a hero from the tales of old, and two in particular seemed to already be getting rather closely acquainted.

What Azazael had noticed in particular was that, apart from himself, three other people had chosen not to speak, the girl clutching her knife as if it was her lifeline, the seemingly mechanical man looking for a way out, and a long haired man with a painted face. All were of similar age to himself (or so they appeared), but looking much younger, their face was not marked by a tough life, well, apart from the blond man with a painted face clutching a bow, a most impractical weapon, too unreliable, especially in harsh winds. But, for all the impracticality of the weapon, the way in which the summoner spoke to him implied the thoughts of a huntsman, so a good person to interrogate about the practicalities of hunting creatures, even if this creature was like something they had never seen before.

Just as Azazael was to head over to the painted huntsman, there was a screeching as if thousands of crickets were erupting in turmoil, and a girl appeared, with an air of authority around her, well-armed and instantly the centre of attention. Azazael despised people who evidently knew their own importance, sufferers of pride, so questioning her would have to come later, for she obviously had something that no one else here did. It was for this reason that Azazael was relieved when someone else decided to speak first, he was not in a prime position to answer questions such as the one just posed. She definitely had power, but to what extent, Azazael did not know, he would have to try and discover what her capabilities were.

Deciding against revealing his wings once more, Azazael strolled over to the painted hunstman and held out his hand, “Azazael Redde, Fallen Angel. Shall we?” Azazael beckoned towards the portal that had just opened, and gave the hunstman a thin-lipped grin, eager to discover what this man could discover.
