Making a Character:
Like I mentioned, your Rift is made up of four facets. At least two of these have to be 1 Mythos and 1 Logos. The other two are up to you.
Mythos: Anything your legendary figure could do. Each one, between 1-3, is a different broad category, such as Excalibur, Dragon Powers, etc. A fair amount of these allow you to do some other things, Dragon Powers might let you fly and breath fire. Pick what your figure could do, could they use magic? Were they good with swords?
Logos: Anything you can do. This could be your skills, such as hacking. It could be things you own, like a car or a gun. It could be your personality, something like you are good at convincing people of things. It could even be another person, your parent, a sibling, a lover. All of these come with their own abilities. If you are a cop, you have access to crime scenes, etc.
The point of this game is to go through life balancing the two. You are a person, it is an idea of one. You can play it as a voice in the back of your head trying to get you to do things, or you can play it as just another facet of your personality.

Rules:
1. This is a game, treat it as such. Just because your characters fight, doesn't mean you have to. If you have any issues with another player, PM each other.
2. You are but one fish in an ocean. Other characters have other people behind them, you don't control them. Basically, you can't make anyone do anything they don't want to do. If you want to kill another player, talk to them about it first.
3. You may have a god living in you, but you aren't one, not yet. No OP characters, i.e. no 'I point at them and they die' kind of stuff.
4. This is a semi-mature RP, so language, violence and such are allowed. If you want anything 18+ take it to the PMs.
5. Final say-so on matters is up to me and any Co-GMs I appoint. If you want to appeal something, write in IC or PM me. If you have an issue about another player, talk to me. If you want to do something with you character like changing your amount of Mythos/Logos, talk to me.
6. DBaA, don't be an asshole. Treat everyone else with respect and they will do the same to you.

Premise:

Welcome to The City, a crime-ridden metropolis filled with danger, intrigue, and mist.

You used to be an average Joe, going about your life, doing whatever it was that you did, until something changed. Maybe it was over a period of a few years, something happened a month ago, or it came to you suddenly, but your body is now no longer just your own. The Mist stripped away enough that something; a person, an object, or even a place, decided to make you its vessel. These things come from everywhere, from Joan of Arc to Darth Vader to Zeus, it now lives within you. For now, this power is in the back seat, letting you run the show, but it is still there. For every blast of flames, for every time turning invisible, it is there, trying to use you to further its own goals.

There are three main classes of people within The City: Sleepers, people who have no powers and no knowledge of them; Avatars, the living embodiment of their power, stripped of humanity and living based on the whims of their powers; and you, a Rift, a regular human with the powers of a legendary being. Every Rift has four parts to them, a minimum of one Logos, what made them a person, and one Mythos, the power that existed within.

The Touched are usually recently turned, with three main parts to their humanity and one incredible power. They have to struggle with their power lest they forget and become a Sleeper once again.

A Borderline is the equilibrium between the supernatural and the natural, half of their being devoted to their Mythos, the other to their Logos. They have to deal with balancing both lives they live.

Finally, a Legendary, holding onto the lest vestiges of their humanity, they are one step away from losing it all. Near god-like power with 3 Mythos, but held onto their humanity by their final Logos, one misstep away from their former life, and they will no longer be who they once were.

I was planning on doing a bit of both. I don't want to run this as an actual game of CoM, there's Roll20 for that. I want this to be an rp taking place in the world using its rules. I have story threads that can be stumbled into and followed, but ultimately it is up to the people. They can be apart of a crew or they can be completely separate from each other, that's up to them. So it is going to start out with the people that are apart of the rp doing what they want, but as they story progresses certain story lines will begin to develop. I intend to sprinkle hooks throughout that can be explored or ignored at your indiscretion.

Would any of y'all be interested in a City of Mist RP? CoM is a game kind of like D&D, the concept is regular people living regular lives, with magic within. Each of these people, known as Rifts, has the powers and essences of characters, objects or places from books, games, movies, mythologies, history within them. Your plumber could have the powers of a Salamander, and your boss is Hades. Even if you aren't interested in the rp, I highly recommend checking out the game itself, very fun and the creator is a pretty cool dude.

Cursed Princesses Club?

On Webtoon there is a comic by the name of the Cursed Princess Club, very good. I highly recommend reading it. The premise is of princesses and princes who never had their curses lifted and joined a club to basically join together in solidarity. I had an idea for basically a modified version as a rp. Anyone be interested?
