Beastkin

The Beastkin are mostly a race that appears humanoid. They have animal features, such as ears and tails of which subspecies they are. They also have fur on their bodies, like on their neck, shoulders, and hips as well as parts of their legs. The patches of fur vary from Beastkin to Beastkin. These beast warriors can be durable or speedy, depending on which animal they represent.

Beastkin have different lifespans. But to live for at least one hundred and fifty years. Dragon Beastkin can live for ages, and reach the thousands if they properly take care of themselves.

Beastkin tend to worship spirits of nature. There are multiple shrines dedicated to volcanoes, oceans, forests, and the earth.

Beastkin main powers are within their abilities to transform into beast forms. With the help of special stones, Beastkin may transform into larger, more demonic-looking animals. This ability is what links all beastkin together. Beastkin, when in humanoid form, generally have the same strength and agility as a very fit human. If they are of the Beastkin class, their beast forms are far more powerful than their human forms. If they are not of the Beastkin class, their strength is equal to that if they were in Beast form.

Beastkin generally lack the ability to handle man-made weapons such as swords and magic. If their stone breaks or gets taken from them, they are virtually defenseless. Not to mention, that there are specific weapons made to combat different types of Beastkin. It is rarely that they'll be a class outside of the Beastkin class. Different types of Beastkin tend to have different weaknesses.

There are many subspecies of Beastkin, but the main ones are:

Rabbit

Tiger

Lion

Wolf

Dragon

Raven

Hawk

Heron

The Beastkin are a very varied race. All of them are never on one specific side together, and they all have different lifestyles and opinions. Some prefer to leave mankind alone, while others have integrated into society.

The Tengu are an odd species. They are giant, anthro-morphic crows that stand at about from five to six feet. They have a huge wingspan. Females are typically larger than males, and they all prefer raw meat for their diet. The Tengu are highly protective of their culture, and as a result they were once very secluded and only lived in a small part of the world. They are a species that emphasize honor above all else. Many of them are swordsmasters or samurai, and it is rare to see a Tengu be a thief or even an Illusionist Mage. The Tengu have many superstitions. Good Tengus do not play their flutes at night, or else snake demons will come to kill them. Stepping on the corner of a tatami mat will always bring bad luck to them. Four is a very unlucky number. Many Tengu have Maneki Neko, or lucky cat statues in their home, in order to bring good fortune.

The Tengu once had four different clans in the land. But over time, the East and North Clans were rumored to be wiped out, making the West and East Clans wary of society and humanity. Due to this incident, most Tengu now tend to be wary of humans and elves. Tengu tend to get along with Beastkin rather well, due to the somewhat physical similarities between them. However, most Tengu wish that the Beastkin were more united. The leaders of the West and South Clan have discussed attempting to help the Beastkin form a solid government.

The Tengu have first and last names. While the first names are thoroughly diverse, they do have common last names, such as Sato, Suzuki, Takahashi, Watanabe, etc. The Tengu mostly serve under law enforcement, but they can be store owners or even merchants. Many of them are also teachers, who teach swordsmanship. The Tengu are quite an advanced race, and are credited with creating a unique type of mathematics.

Fairies are disciples of nature gods and goddesses, sent down to earth to watch over nature. Although there are many types of fairy, most tend to be associated with nature. Most types are able to shrink down to very tiny sizes, but are of human size when they wish to be. Personality-wise, they tend to be a very diverse species. But their dedication towards each other is firm. Fairies often choose to align with each other, and are protective of each other. Physically, they can all appear very different, but their hair usually has bright, gleaming particles in it. They also have bright wings as well. Fairies moral and political alignments tend to be to whichever side will help nature more. They all tend to have decent moral compasses, being disciples of gods and goddesses. However, corrupt fairies are also not unheard of.

Fairies tend to dwell in more rural areas, as well as forests. As a species, they don't own any specific territory. Their names can be old English names, to Celtic and Irish names, really. Most tend to have powers associated with nature.

Dullahan are a species of fairy. They appear as black, shadowy horsemen and women, lacking heads upon their shoulders. Dullahans tend to carry their heads with them. Legend says whenever a dullahan loses his or her head, a plague is soon to come after. These fae tend to ride black steeds, which may shape shift into carriages or other odd forms of transport. Dullahans have a supreme command over black magic, allowing them to shapeshift and bend shows to their own will. Dullahans are among the rarer species to seem, and some believe that they don't even exist. Dullahans tend to not be very hostile unless provoked, and they tend to try and stay out of human affairs. Still, when provoked, they become menacing. It is not wise to become a dullahan's enemy. It is rare to see dullahan's travel in groups. In written history, only one such occasion has been recorded, where there were a pack of dullahans traveling around after a noble began to attempt to destroy them, believing one to be responsible for the death of her son.

Dullahans, somewhat being spirits of nature, tend to get along with beastkin rather well. Tengu are incredibly wary around them, and do not know what to make of them. No one is sure where this mysterious species came from, but they are thought to be the embodiment of shadow, brought into existence by an ancient god. Some groups of crow beastkin still worship this ancient god today, thus these beastkin are very respectful towards the dullahan. Many dullahans seem to acknowledge the struggles of discrimination that beastkin go through. Dullahans are also noted to protect nighttime travelers. Dullahans tend to be neutral towards all political conflict. They may have Irish names. 

However, gods help any person that is dying when a dullahan is near, for they lose control around the dying, attempting to steal their souls away into the night.

They moved like they had somewhere to be. 

Praxis and Carna were no strangers to walking within cities. One had to keep a strong demeanor and walk briskly, or risk getting haggled. If they looked out of place, they might as well be putting targets on their backs. They had arrived within Estoria to meet the pokemon professor of the Fordis region. Starting their journey would be difficult, but it was something they had wanted to do for ages. No one could stop them now. They refused to be deterred from their many goals. Praxis clutched Carna's hand with one of his own, making sure not to lose her within the thick crowds.

Eventually, they came upon the pokemon lab. Praxis weaved his way through the crowd, taking the lead until they reached the glass doors, which automatically slid open for them. A crooked grin plastered on his face, Praxis stepped forward, gaze moving from the professor, to the two other individuals in the room. From the looks of it, it seemed as though he and Carna were the first ones to arrive. 

"Looks like we're the early birds." The blond young man gazed over at the pokeballs lined up, looking quite intrigued. Carna followed his gaze, but did not speak up. She remained silent due to pure shyness.
