Current Think I'm gonna finally get to RPing here. Don't know if I'm gonna commit, don't know where to start, and don't know what I'm gonna do, but I'm gonna do it.

I've had Johnny Cash on my mind all day. Can't get "When the Man Comes Around" out of my head. Tempted to let it influence some writing or make it a character's "theme"

I'm a bit scattered brained lately, so if I need to respond to a roleplay response, just remind me, I could've forgotten.

Finally done with the college semester, so I decided to treat myself to a expensive burger and a walk on the beach

Finally got Kokotha thread up. It's gonna be awkward in the first day of moving it here.

Bio

Hello, I am Patches

I roleplay as a hobby, as well as designing OCs to be used in various types of roleplays. No matter the setting, I believe I have one just for the situation.

Slipping on a glove, lined with a light rune, Wingate's hand began to glow a light yellow color. Liquid and Light magic was her specialty. Shining it through the corridor, she looked for anything that could be a trap. Mmm... Good call. It seems we aren't the first ones here. She said, pointing to an object on a ground.

A full skeleton, human from the looks of it. From its decomposition, they must've died centuries ago. No sign of injuries, unless there was a trap that didn't damage their bones She said, manipulating the skeleton with her magic tendrils. The door might have shut behind him, so I recommend having a few casters on the other size to open the door in case that happens. What puzzles me, is how he got here... Wasn't the tomb covered by earth when you discovered it, Miss Lucille?

Haven't thought that far ahead, friend, but I have been through worse situations and gave out relatively unscatched. Like that time in Yiskin... Or that time in the Gishka Empire... Or that time in South Kokotha... If I recall the map correctly, the gardens should lead to the backroom. Just hope the VIPs don't have their guard up.

The gardens were a simple balcony, overlooking the lake below, several hanging plants, potted plants, and grassy turf, recently watered.

@hefewy
Might have something hidden about it. Some function like a key. Gregor said, taking cover behind a large vase, stopping just for a moment. As the party descended into chaos, not everyone was shooting at them, but it was still important to keep their heads down. Settle down here, some people are coming. Gregor said as he drew his shotgun, a simple blunderbuss, now equipped with light runes making it just as good as more advanced weapons.

The card Mercury had stolen was a simple badge, about the size of a ID card, and about as thick as a coin. On it, was the symbol of a skull wearing a crown, a simple of two interlocking diamonds on its forehead; the symbol of the Children.

@hefewy
Not one for finesse I see? That's fine. But at least your having fun. Gregor said. I like that. Noble knight lookin' out for us unarmored folk!

Coming down the way was a group of the Children's guards, coming to end the chaos in the party. Find Gregor! Kill the other three!
Who let him in? The situation is compromised. We can't let them get to the elites.

Get ready. Gotta squad headed our way.

Guess I need to lighten up. Yes, the Children are evil, but that is just what I'm afraid of. They're not gonna show us mercy, so one little slip up is all it'll take for us to go through hell. Adjusting her gloves a bit, she followed after him to where Johnny and Astrid were.

Yoshimi took a normal path to the two, taking the path Johnny and Astrid had taken. What's that you have? She said pointing to the file. Smells like a filthy hospital in here... Let's try to look for those runes soon?

Approved, but no more for now
I just hope you can keep track of all of them and have a use for each.
@Yomojo
*Body casters... Why must you make me so uncomfortable when you use your powers?* Wingate thougth to herself in regards to the sounds. But, that was neither here nor there.

Feeling the wall, symbol on the wall, it looked to be just a decoration, it camaflaguing with the other symbols on the wall. But there was no doubt about it, it was a rune. Putting a bit of magic into it, Wingate activated the rune, a blue glow coming from her fingertip. Then, with a loud noise like a stone hitting a stone, the wall next to her began to move open. As something that hadn't been moved in ages, it took its time.
@Yomojo
Damn right! This is White Teeth's turf! We're not gonna let any damn Drekka take anything from us. They don't know the meaning of class and style either. Nothing but a dirty cartel of killers, Quinn called them. As much as I wanna bust a few numbskull's skulls, I... Uh... Can't quite handle more than, say, 5 of em, so thanks for the offer.

@tex
Well first off, pussy cat, I drink because I like the taste. He said, putting his arms behind his head, relaxing I can drink to my hearts content and not worry about getting intoxicated, I do have a high tolerance after all. Second, people group into factions for a common goal, some who don't have a place to go have one with their faction. Even those no good dirty Drekka. You look like you'd fit in as a mascot of the Brewer's League, I don't know.
@tex
With a nod, Gossick confirmed the order, That'll cover it, yes. He took the money and handed over the batteries. I am getting a new shipment soon, so I will be restocked soon. If you're looking for new supplies, then I'll still be here... I get few customers, that it's nice to have ones who stay and chat. With the right planning and research, as well as the right materials, any one can do what a caster can do... Except for, say, cast without the need of a rune.

@Jensoman
As long as you cause no issue with research and development, you may assist either I or him. Gossick said, adjusting his classes. This Jenso guy was really rambunctious. It was nice to meet people who'd help out, especially around the slum area.
Yes, yes, promise you won't break anything. I have had too many excursions where people have broken priceless pieces of history. You're not lunkheaded as them, thankfully. she said, her watery tendrils beginning to disappear, as she finished scanning the room. The Isz did have the means to autominously power runes without having to touch them, something that we have recreated with rune batteries. They likely had some sort of gas in the air or vacuum, that kept things preserved. Those runes have likely stopped working some centuries ago, leading to decay... Less decay than you might expect though.

She said, walking over to a nearby wall, tapping it with her fist. Look for a rune. This door is likely powered by one. Otherwise we'll have to use a bit of force.
Certainly... They were far beyond us in understanding of magic, but we have achieved things that they haven't. the tomb was just as it was in the photos. Everything where it was. Wingate noticed the indents and areas where the tablets and artifacts use to be. Allow me to survey the area. Wingate said, as she held her hand out, activating her brand. From her fingers, several liquid tentacles manifested, as they began to feel the walls for any possible entrances, some of them checking for texts.

With his allies down and taking the cue, Gregor held his hand up high. It started off as a glimmer, as if saying "Hey look at me!" Then, from his hand, a powerful burst of light emitted, then it was gone in just a second or two. But, it was certainly powerful enough to to blind and disorient those looking at it for a bit. Let's get out of here! Head to the gardens! Keep your head down and we'll get to the back from there Gregor said, making a run for it. Kid, do you have the card? He asked Mercury as he began running towards the exit to the gardens.

Before long, the guests, Drekka, normal black market broker, and Children member alike were at each others throats. Magic based projectiles flying around the room.

Stumbling awawy, covering his face with his mask failing to protect his eyes, Gustrag grunted in pain, Don't just stand there, you fools! Protect me! Gustrag said, as several guards came running to his side, one of them setting up a stone shield over him.

@Blizzardofoz123
The man did in fact have some sort of explosive device on him, only about the size of a wallet. Vials of liquid and gas-based Yim, with a long wire coming off of it leading to the guard's arm. With all their secrets having to be locked up tight, such an explosive device was a last resort.

I fail to see the excitement in this. Yoshimi brushed herself off. I love myself a good fight, but nearly dying and facing a group as bad as the Children? I liked it better when they were just undercover... Regardless, if I come face to face with one of their commanders, I will not hesitate again.

She motioned to where Astrid and Johnny went, Come on, let's go

@Nashie@Ember Storm
Looks like there was a recent operation. There was blood on it that looked fresh, and not just because of the fight. Whatever procedure was done on it, must've been done earlier in the day. On the counter next to the table, was a medical file, only slightly singed from the earlier explosion.

Artificial Amalgamation Project: Subject C

From the balcony of the party, a white haired man watched the chaos ensue, shaking his head, with him, a masked woman. Seems the fat pig can't even control 4 people breaking into his house and causing problems. Xenan said, annoyed, the fact that Daud was alive and well after their last encounter not helping the matter. He's compromised everything... Looking to the woman, Xenan nodded Gustrag's got rats in the basement. Go after them. I'll take care of these ones.

With that, the woman nodded Serve the queen.

Serve the Queen.

In a display of magic, the two disappeared.
