Current Think I'm gonna finally get to RPing here. Don't know if I'm gonna commit, don't know where to start, and don't know what I'm gonna do, but I'm gonna do it.

I've had Johnny Cash on my mind all day. Can't get "When the Man Comes Around" out of my head. Tempted to let it influence some writing or make it a character's "theme"

I'm a bit scattered brained lately, so if I need to respond to a roleplay response, just remind me, I could've forgotten.

Finally done with the college semester, so I decided to treat myself to a expensive burger and a walk on the beach

Finally got Kokotha thread up. It's gonna be awkward in the first day of moving it here.

Bio

Hello, I am Patches

I roleplay as a hobby, as well as designing OCs to be used in various types of roleplays. No matter the setting, I believe I have one just for the situation.

Mmm... I have heard of the Universal Machine studying such a thing. But studies have shown to be poor so far. To think that the Isz were already ahead of us in the studies of magic... Well that comes as no surprise. Just try to be more careful with that dagger in the future. She said with a nod.

But, right you are, Ash. I have studied their ways and their culture extensively. Yet every time, I am surprised by their creations. Soon as the trio began to enter the next room, the pit began to fill back up once again, from the bottom up, sending the skeletons back up to the surface. The entrance from where the group came was now blocked off by sand. Thankfully we still have the dagger so we can go back that way.

The trio would find themselves in a long tunnel. Lit up by runes on the walls, illuminating everything in a yellow light. At the end of the tunnel, was a larger, antechamber.
The footprints leg to a small house, partially sunk into the muck. Looked like some sort of capitol building back before the town was flooded.

There, inside, was a number of peculiar sights. Around the building, placeed out of the mud and water onto dry surfaces, were stacks of stones. Each of them about 5 to 7 stones in height, all placed around the room in clusters. Whoever had done it must've had a lot of time on their hands, a good reason, and a delicate touch.

From the end of the room, beyond the entrance, came a soft glow from one of the doorways.

1. No, you don't need to learn about Nier Automata to roleplay this. As I said, it's inspired by it but it isn't set in the world.
2. AIs with human emotion were created when Lifeline was created. However, many AIs have different purposes. Hueco was a living library index before he joined Aegis and Dee was for a combat simulation for instance. So if you can find a way to make a robotic AI fit in through their origin, I have no problem with it.
3.The idea you have still sounds like a protector role since it still has the ability to protect allies from attackers. As long as they have some sort of defense oriented skill set, with combat capability, they're a protector.
Yoshimi

@Nashie@Ember Storm@Blizzardofoz123
Simple fools. They want questions, so they point weapons and knives. Like a bunch of barbarians and animals looking to get blood from a stone. Leaning over the railing, another voice was heard, standing on top of one of the crates was an identical woman, The mind of a human, the will and learning of a caster, the power and strength of an amalgamate... Another voice was heard, another copy of the woman stood at the far side of the room at ground level, If you're looking for our subject, you missed him. A rift in Yim, set to go off in case of a forced intrusion. Your friends caused a lot of ruckus upstairs, but Xenan will take care of them.

Yoshimi clenched her fist, no longer able to stand the woman's attitude. Are they all separate? Is this an illusion of light magic? She thought to herself. She wasn't going to let this information slip by, she wasn't going to come this far only to come back empty handed and be taunted by the likes of her. I'll take care of you! Yoshimi shouted, rushing at the woman at ground level. But, as she ran towards here, a loud, screeching sound rang throughout the room, a piercing, noise, enough to make the Xiao woman stop in her tracks in pain. A storm mage?! She isn't using light magic?

Not too fast. I have all the time in the world to spend with you. But this won't take too long. The room around the group began to twist and turn, melting away, to reveal a large sandy desert, all in a wave of the woman's hands. Serve the Queen, Follow the King, We are the Children of Kodo'Yim.

Gregor

@hefewy@Ember Storm@MercuryNH

Gregor frowned, looking between his allies, then back to the man at the table. Keeping his gun fixed on him, he listened to what Daud had to say. As he spoke, he had a degree of fear in his voice. Xenan sat and listened, almost too casual for the situation. I've... Heard rumors of a certain member of the Children... A sorta boogeyman talked about in scary stories. The undying knight of the queen. A sorta hunter she uses to track people down that she wants dead... No matter how many times he'd be killed or how badly he was injured, he'd come back better than ever. Xenan.

Indeed. You've heard the stories. Xenan said with a grin, standing up. ...And Daud, my friend. You killed me. I didn't enjoy that. That aside you 4 have come far to get to here, ruining a ally of mine's party, all in search of what? ...No matter, this ends now. I won't let the fat pig's mistakes be all of ours-

Capping off Xenan's sentence, Gregor quickly fired off a shot, shooting the Children member in the face with a brilliant shot of light. Xenan collapsed backwards, like a ragdoll. If you're going to fight fight, don't talk!

While shot in the face, Xenan was already healing the hole in his face, annoyed more than ever.

That works! Welcome to the canon
Mission: Reconnaissance
Location: A Virus Stronghold neighboring several Aegis protected servers. Roughly 142 sq. miles in size from one edge of the server to the other. Appearance is par for the course of Virus Strongholds, large cityscape of metallic buildings and structures
Objective: Go to the Virus Stronghold and map out the area for a future attack on it. Gather any data that you can and protect make it out alive.
Threat Level: Low. Several Spacefiller Viruses are present. The center of the Stronghold possesses a Ransom Level Virus. Stay clear of the Ransom Level unless instructed otherwise.
Current objective: Group up with your fellow Aegis members at the marked location.

Hueco scanned the area, standing a top a large building, overlooking the Virus Stronghold. To think such a large place was comparatively small to some of the other servers within Lifeline... And to think that its sole purpose was to churn out more and more of the Virus kind. His drones had gotten to mapping out the building he was one, a odd, hollow skyscraper like structure, surprisingly void of Viruses.

A strange cold place, nothing like the warm environment of the library he spent decades of his life in. Cataloging, archiving, and searching information.

"Hive, analysis on the current area." Hueco said, speaking to his drone
Area has a number of Spacefiller Type Viruses at ground level. Suggested response: Consolidate with your allies at Point A, marked on your map.

Hueco nodded, opening up the map of the area, at least what they had so far. A small building not far from where he was. He only hoped that the rest of his allies were there before him, he didn't want to be out numbered by too much. With that, he began to head off, leaping from the tower to the ground below, making his way towards the recon point.

Maybe tone back a bit on the power of the pistols but otherwise it's fine. Being an attacker type, they do have more powerful weapons than the other classes.

Everything else looks great.
Few people ever came to the ghost town, out of fear of it being haunted. Maybe a dweller or two would take residence, only to leave days later. A few houses did show signs of dweller culture. The only real signs of life at a first glance were the graffiti, likely left by the occasional teenager who went in on a dare, such as the words "They are watching you" scratched into the side of one of the buildings. Mostly just superstition and myths.

But, one piece emblem stood out among the graffiti and the marks of the dweller. A coat of arms that would occasionally be marked on some of the walls. The symbol of a tower, being struck by lightning.

If Urik were to investigate further, keeping a close eye on every detail, he'd notice that in the muck and the rotten floorboards, were footprints. Light footprints, whoever left them couldn't have been too old or too big. Human as well, couldn't have been one of the dwellers that occasionally passed through.

Someone was here recently.
Have you ever heard the tale of the Ramshorn Slaughter? It's a grisly tale that goes far back into the earliest settlers of Kokotha. Ages ago, a group of beastkin settled down in the South of Kokotha, having faced prejudice even moreso back then. A community of beastkin, even before the Pride existed. Years past and their lives went on fine, until a large clan of Harvestmen, back from a hunt, arrived at their town of Ramshorn. They were welcomed in with open arms... But, when the Harvestmen saw the beastkin, they snapped. Seeing them as some sort of "proto-amalgamate," they attacked as one, striking down man, woman, and child. The one survivor, a young beastkin girl, cursed the hunters. "Curse you, Harvestmen" she said, "Murderers, blood thirsty psychos, curse upon you, a curse upon your children! May you become the very monsters that you hunt!" It is said, that her curse came to light. Since then, many of the Harvestmen involved did become amalgamates. As did their children. Those who didn't amalgamate were killed by their fellow comrades.

This was centuries ago. While there is no proof of a curse and no proof of the surviving girl going on, or if she even had that power, there is proof of a slaughter. Ramshorn is now a ghost town that is said to be haunted. It's even said some of the descendants of those Harvestmen live there. That is if you believe the rumors.
A roleplay between Hefewy and I, telling the story of the characters Io and Urik.
