Bio

Well now that I got the customary "post once" requirement out of the way....

HELLO

Welcome to my safe space. Well, about as safe as one space can be, I guess. If you are here looking for something, I am very sorry to disappoint you, but I made fresh cookies! Come sit a spell.

I guess I'll do some more in-depth stuff about myself. My name is Nick and I am 33 years old living in Illinois. I am a therapist and clinical responder (which is a fancy way of saying I go out on police calls to provide mental health assistance). Been doing therapy for a few years now and I absolutely love it!

I am a gay, cisgender man. I came out last year in January (smack dab in the middle of a pandemic. Timing was always my downfall). There is still much I am learning, but I am proud and happy to be who I really am and not have to hide it anymore!

I am an avid gamer, especially roleplaying games (cue surprised and shock noises). I also enjoy writing and reading, especially mysteries. I am not new to roleplay, I promise. I have been doing it for years now in different formats. I am experienced, even if it doesn't seem like it.

I use humor as a coping mechanism for sure, but I also like laughing and enjoying myself. Life can be pretty sad and upsetting for the most part and I don't want to add to it.

Whew! That got deep!

I will be poking my nose around in spaces and hoping to jump headfirst into this. Some interests I have in terms of roleplay settings include superheroes, DnD, science fiction/fantasy, mysteries, thrillers, horror stuffs, apocolypse, and espionage. And I am a fan of most things pop culture. If you have any suggestions or possible roleplays you think I would love, please let me know.

Otherwise, stick around! This is gonna get wild!

Verity sighed inwardly as her call went to the busy signal. She should have figured that people would be hailing cabs to get back home and out of the city with whatever the hell was going on. She hung up as one of the patrons offered her a lift to the shop for her car. A lucky meeting. Verity glanced over and saw the man who had ran into her car earlier. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere else and especially away from her.

Which made the decision so much easier.

"Why thank you. I would love a ride to your shop. Truly, thank you so much." She may have laid it on a touch too thick, but she couldn't help herself. It was going to annoy biker guy and that made it all the more sweeter. "Doubt there's much left to do here. Shall we get going?"

Perry listened to the conversations and took in the information provided. She wasn't eager to go back into space so quickly after escaping the last time. Granted this would be her choice. Still, she figured she could be more helpful on the ground in New Orleans than with the Shiar. She could use her emotion powers better, at the very least.

"I think I'll stay here and help the others. Not so much looking forward to going back into space so quickly. Plus, I think my powers would be better suited for the team here than up there." She said pointing up towards the stars. However, she would go where needed. After all, both missions sounded important.

Things sort of fizzled out after she had altered Arcade's memory. The dude was a blubbering mess. She didn't feel bad, after all he had tried to kill them. Well, he actually did. So no she didn't feel bad in the slightest. In fact, she hoped he felt bad for a while an used that for good.

What she hadn't expected was April to look at the situation and begin to freak out. Sabine knew a little, their time spent on the beach together opening up some of the wounds long hidden, but Sabine couldn't quite understand. Was it her fault? Did she somehow trigger April into having a panic attack? Danni urged her to help, but Sabine wasn't in the habit of using her abilities on those she cared for without their consent. "I'm not going to make her breathe Danni. I don't do that without permission." And she figured April wouldn't allow her anyway.

So Sabine did the next best thing she could think of. She sat down next to April, took her hands in her own, and leaned on her. "I'm here, however long you need me. Squeeze my hand if you need to, but take some deep breaths. Don't feel the need to fight back if they come up short, I just want you to breathe. Sit here with me for a bit. We'll get through this."

Soon the paramedics arrived and took control. Hopefully the man would be all right, but now she chould focus on other things like getting home and seeing if she can savor the rest of the day. And who knew what tomorrow would bring if this craziness continued. "No, I do not need help." She got up and away, allowing them to do their work.

She made her way back to the front of the diner. Seemed they would be closing anyway. Verity's car was in the shop still so she would need a ride. She pulled out her phone and dialed for a cab. She could at least work from home for a bit before she delved into a bottle of wine and some ice cream after today.

Things were ramping up at the X-mansion party and the guest of honor was having her own belle of the ball drama to contend with. Max was also.....processing in his own way. To his credit, Max was knowledgeable and a strong magic user. "Emotions will be key then. Not only Mary's, and by extension the Phoenix's, but ours as well. Charged emotions could leave people in vulnerble states and say or do something wrong, so everyone needs to do a little check in with themselves."

Perry led by example. She was feeling worried, anxious, but hopeful. She could feel the emotions swarm as she laid control. "I can help anyone with those pesky feelings if need be. Think of it like a mini-therapy session minus the super cool couch you get to lay on. Oh and top priority is helping Mary, obviously. No other alternatives to consider. So are we squadding up as one or going into teams?"
I am so sorry guys. i am incredibly sick and don't have the energy to post. I really wanted to do this but I need to take care of my health. Thanks for the fun1

It all happened quickly. In one instance she was a spirit holding out for Dorian, waiting for the inevitable end and the next she was back in the gym with the others. Sabine checked herself out. She had her body back. She fought off the urge to run to Leah and April and take them in her arms and shower them with love.

No there was someone who needed her attention more.

Arcade stood there, cowering. It was pathetic. "Not so touch without your technology huh?" Sabine was in her villain era. She thought about all the ways she could make him suffer. Should she turn his brain into mush so he would need to be bedridden and eat his food through a straw? Should she set his mind on fire so it felt like it was burning and there was no way to put it out?

So many tantalizing options. Sabine strode forward, ready to unleash hell when Dorian stepped up. Sweet Dorian. She wanted to punch his stupid, sweet face. Hell, even Leah took a step back. That said something.

Though it seemed like the others either listened or wanted their own revenge and Sabine could hardly blame them. Once there was a break she stepped forward. "My turn."

Sabine closed her eyes and sent her consciousness into Arcade's, shifting through the neurons to get to her destination: Memories.

One such memory caught her attention. It was arcade as a young boy and, presumably, his father. Arcade's father held a belt in his hand, held high. As it was brought down Sabine could feel the ripple with each hit. This was where it changed for Arcade. Sabine didn't want to erase this. Trauma needed to be dealt with. Instead she altered Arcade's viewpoint of the memory. Rather than the shift to villainy, it would be a shift to good. To fight for others so no one felt like he did as a child.

Once satisfied, she exited and opened her eyes. "I can't stop anyone else from hurting him, but he's changed. We should allow him to show it."
The old man was true to his word as he led her directly to where she needed to go. It was just unfortunate that she arrived with the others, late.

Still, they made it. Perhaps their lateness could be made up for with whatever task Alandri had for them.

"So...who ended up winning the race?" Fleur wasn't sure if that was still a thing.

Fleur looked around at her companions, which was quite the eclectic mix of individuals. "So, shall we head inside and see what our task is? Oh I guess we should introduce each other since we hadn't yet and before we could most of you ran off. My name is Fleur. I am a fortune teller by trade. A pleasure to make your acquaintance." Fleur dipped in a small curtsy, unsure if any of the others knew about polite greetings.

Her feet throbbed slightly. She definitely neede to rethink fashion over function in the future.
So I lied. Woke up feeling worse. Please do not wait for me. I will post when I can.
