You can call me Pen. Yeah, I know, great name.
Basics about me: Yes, I'm a guy. I've been writing for a very long time and thoroughly enjoy it. I made this account a year or so ago, but I don't get around much. While normally I seek out potential writing partners quietly, lately RPing has dried up too much to remain in the shadows. So, here we have my first interest check. Hello, and Welcome. Since I'm a merciful chap, I'll try and keep this short, but not so short as to be disrespectful to the agonising process ;)
Normally people who enjoy writing enough to be on a forum like this keep their spelling and punctuation legible. It's expected, while degrees still exist. I'm not too fussy about how my partner presents their writing, but I tend to take some pride in my own work. Long as we're having fun, we're good.
I think it's fun to keep plots open and just make stuff up as we go along, but after sitting and staring idly at my computer screen for two days, I realise that spontaneity makes posting an interest check kinda difficult. At last, giving into the system, these are just a few starter plots that I like and are open to change:
1, No Good Deed. Fantasy/Slice of Life/Romance. Era, anyone?
Driving down a long and lonesome road late at night, MC hits an animal. Or, maybe he runs over it with his horse. Getting out of his car... or off his horse, he discovers that the animal, YC, is actually a beautiful woman who happens to be sporting a fancy set of wings, and a complexion to die for. What was she doing crossing a road? Better yet, where is she from and what in the hell even is she? Knowing that he can't just take this creature to the local hospital or doctor, he takes her home to nurse her back to health. Little does he know of the dangers he has brought into his home.
2, Thin Air. Romance/Dark. Era whenever.
YC is being transported through the mountains by her abductors when she finds a way to escape. Fleeing on foot, she stumbles upon an isolated house. MC takes her in when she knocks on the door. She soon discovers that she may have been better off on her own in the wilderness or being held captive by her abductors. Will she find a way out of this house and away from this monster that calls himself a man? Even if that time were to come, will she actually leave?
...Spontaneity really does sound sweet right about now.
3, Uh...
4, Are You Serious? Sci-Fi/Romance. Era, not in the future.
YC has her own spacecraft. No, she's not from Earth. Or is she? IDK, she's your character. I'd like to think she's a really hot galactic bounty hunter. She's hired to retrieve a man from Earth; MC. The details as to why her employer wants him are unknown. Hell, Humans of Earth haven't travelled past their own moon yet, what possible reason could there be?
5, Romeo, and Who the Hell Are You? Possibly fantasy. Era old, like Middle Ages or something.
Here's an original starting concept: Two Kingdoms at war. They've been fighting with each other for a long time. The King and Queen of opposing kingdoms are now getting old, which for those days probably wasn't very old, but I'm guessing you get the picture. Stress, and lack of great food and good hygiene will do that to a person. The King of one of these kingdoms is getting fed up with all the bickering and bloodshed and really just wants to find a way to bring peace to the land before he dies. He devises a cunning plot to pair his son (the prince next in line to the throne) with the princess of the enemy kingdom (also next in line to her throne) in the hope that maybe they'll get along and their love will restore said peace. Let's just say the ensuing relationship has its ups and downs.
I have another concept or two but I couldn't be bothered right now, and besides, I promised not to make this post too long and I may have already exceeded that.
I will be honest and say one other thing. I love humour and romance and adventure and a tad bit of crazy and a whole wide host of variety - and yeah, sure, I can be serious when it's called for, too. Balance, you know? What I don't go much on is feeling like I have restrictions. I do prefer to write with women. I find women are more in tune; their writing more intelligible; has more heart. I'm glad they put up with me.
If you feel that you might like to write with me, shoot me a PM. Regardless, Thank You for reading and take care in that wholesome sweet world out there.
