Alright, so for some reason the last time I tried to post this, the post didn't go up, and I lost everything, so instead of re-typing it in full detail I'm giving the abridged version of my original int-check post and if you have questions then ask me in PM or in a post here and I'll answer it.So...

I was on hiatus for a few months after trying to restart my RP'ing again cause life fucked me over with work and school, but school's almost over for this semester so I have more time. Looking to start a new RP or two.

I'm PhantomSekai, 21 year old RP'er of 6 years, and I've been on the guild since before it went down and restarted whenever that happened. Decently versed in RP'ing and would consider myself of advanced level writing.

I have a slightly unusual style of RPing. Instead of each of us controlling and MC and npc's, I like playing a main character vs gm style of RP. One of us would play the main character to the plot of the RP and NPC's when they need to progress the story, the other would be the GM, controlling the plot of the story, antagonists, and events that help move the story along. I like this cause it's different from the general 1x1 RP, and each person gets to feel important, whether it's cause the story is focused around them, or cause they get to control the plot based on the other's response. I'm fine with taking either role in this style, so up to you. I would highly prefer this to the standard style of 1x1 rp'ing, so if you're not into this, this probably won't work out for us.

Rules and Standards:

1. Posting - So, high casual+, 2+ paragraphs per post on average. Sometimes you can't write large posts, so it's fine for smaller ones, but never do one liners please. Also, post at least once every two days, more would be preferred, but this is the minimum required. Finally, tell me if you're gonna be away and can't post. I can wait more than two days if you notify me, but if you just disappear, I'll drop you.

2. Mature/Adult themes and romance - I don't mind this stuff, in fact I think it can enhance a story when used properly, keyword being properly. Moderation and taste people, please don't let this stuff become the focus of the RP, cause then it just becomes stale and boring for me. Also, mature/adult doesn't just mean gore and sex. It can also refer to dark story lines that make people question their morality and such, aka story about the grey areas in life, like killing someone to save other people. That type of stuff is great for writing, so consider that?

3. Respect - Lets just respect and be kind to one another, cause I want us to be friends, not just partners.

And now onto ideas:

- Paranatural is a webcomic that basically tells the story about kids that have cool ghost powers that fight off bad ghosts. I'll give a quick rundown of it. In this world, there are good and bad spirits. To fight bad spirits, people have one of three powers to fight them off. First, spectral energy. If you have a strong enough concentration of spectral energy, you can use it to fight off bad ghosts by forming it into blasts of energy or objects. Your energy can have unique colors that kind of give insight into your personality. Second, tools. When ghosts are on the verge of disappearing into nothing, they can either possess people or objects. If they possess an object, the object becomes a tool, and people can use that tool to fight ghosts. The tool generally has powers similar to whatever ghost possessed it. Thirdly are mediums. Mediums are people possessed by ghosts that aren't completely taken over by the ghost, the medium has access to the powers the ghost has. The plot would focus on a new person coming into town and getting sucked into the world of ghost fighting.

- VRMMORPG: Like .hack// or for the more known series, SAO. Basically, instead of a serious "We have to beat the game to save everyone" story line I want the RP to be built from the ground up and focus on the characters instead. Like the MC is a person that plays games and meets a variety of characters, each with unique problems, whether it's a neet that only plays games, a person using the game to live out fantasies they couldn't in the real world, or other things.

If you're interested, post here or PM me. Also, don't be afraid to suggest ideas. I'm not gonna close off either idea so if you see someone post here wanting to do an idea you want to, don't be afraid to ask for the same thing. With my MC vs GM style, the RP's can vastly differ since each person would handle things differently.

If you're interested in working something out with me, either post here or PM me directly and we'll go from there.
So, long story short, I "quit" the guild about 3 months ago due to a combination of school starting up after being out of school for a year, work picking up from several decent shifts to 8 hours closing shifts 6 out of 7 days of the week, and then the issue of being in a small car accident, no permanent damage but enough to keep me away from a computer for a few weeks. Anyways, 3 months later and I'm finding that I just want to come back and start doing some RP'ing once again. So, first off before I even list off interests and such, I want to establish somethings. 1. High Casual+ level writing. if you can't put out an average of several paragraphs per post, please don't bother with me. 2. Posting. Post at least once a day. If you let me know that you'll be away for awhile, but if you just stop replying/talking to me I'm gonna assume you're done and I'm not gonna bother trying to reach you anymore. 3. "Mature themes." So, when I say mature themes, I don't simply mean sex or gore. I mean actual maturity, things like decisions that force you into a tough situation, things that are dark, make you question your morality and values. I don't mind sex and gore, but that gets boring, quite easily in fact. If you're looking for sex and/or gore posts every other post, don't bother. I want an RP that will actually stimulate emotion, not just fulfill someone's ERP fantasy. 4. Romance. I understand it's a 1x1, so more than likely there will be some form of romance. I don't mind it, but sometimes I outright prefer to avoid it. Still, I'm willing to, but we address it the same way we do for "mature" themes, it's not the focus. If you want lovey dovey stuff, don't bother here. Anyways, that's pretty much it on my "rules" of sorts. With that out of the way, onto my interests and such, but first let me explain my preferred style of RP'ing. I like to RP in a fashion in which one person plays a central character, while the other person controls the world. What do I mean by this? Well, lets use D&D as an example. In D&D, there are players and DM's. Players control the characters they create within a world that is controlled by the DM. The DM creates quests and objectives for the players to complete. Now, take this format of one person as the player, and the other as the DM, and you get the style of RP'ing that I personally prefer. Now of course, we'll work on plot stuff together, as well as both of us being able to control NPC's so we can move the plot along and get things moving, but essentially is the player encountering events that the DM would create. I am fine in taking on either role in the scenario, though I admit I personally prefer to play the "player" role as setting up a plot past world building has always been a weak point of mine. Now that I told you my preferred style of playing, lets get to actual interests. 1. Persona: So I love the SMT Persona series. The characters are generally well written, the plots are interesting, and it does a decent enough job at blending visual novel with standard jrpg fare. For those that don't know the series, it's too hard to explain the plot from scratch, so I recommend either reading the wiki or watching one of the several anime series/movies based on the series. No plot for this yet, just trying to reel people in if anyone enjoys this series as I do. 2. VR-MMORPG: Alright, who's familiar with .hack, .hack//gu, SAO, log horizon, etc? If you are, I don't need to explain this idea really. However, instead of establishing a world where characters somehow get into real life danger, I just want the story to be focused on character interaction within a game world, and how it affects them and their outside lives. Might introduce some type of mystery/danger plot later down the line. 3. Open to ideas: So, I don't like to automatically disregard other people's interests, so in the essence of trying to be happy and go along with others, I'm willing to have plots, fandoms, or anything except pairings submitted to me and we cant ry to work something out. The reason I don't do pairings is because that's not a plot, nor even a concept. It's just type a mashed with type b, we'll build something around it. It's just too open ended and usually generic for me to thoroughly enjoy unfortunately.
So, about a 8+ months ago now, I started an rp that was sort of a choose your own adventure RP after reading an interest check by the user AirBear08. Long story short, I played the main character, while my partner controlled several other characters, and it was sort of like a visual novel mixed with action segments. We both helped build the world and controlled NPC's, but it felt free in the sense that we weren't being forced along a single plot, but instead freely moving through the over arcing plot through smaller, uique plots and choices made by the character. It died after about 30+ posts though as AirBear08 disappeared.

Ever since then, I've just been trying to do more RP's, some unlike this style, others very similar, to even trying to make a clone of the RP of sorts. All attempts either fialed shortly, or never even got started due to real life issues or just general lack of interests.

So, the title of this is basically to lead into this slight explanation of why I'm gonna give this site one last shot. I just honestly can't be bothered to try and start anymore RP's here if this fails, not because I hate the site or the people on it, but just because I know that if I can't get an RP partner and plot that I can be invested in now, then it's likely I won't ever find any RP here that I can really work with, which I'm actually a little sad about. I've been RP'ing here for 6 years, I was a somewhat established RP'er before the site reset, I had a bunch of close friends, RP partners, and I even grew from being a beginner level RP'er to advanced during my time here.

I really don't want to let this site go, but after the reset, most people left, or just disappeared all together, still I feel like I owe this site too much to just up and disappear. It might seem stupid to others, but I really want to try and get something started, or at least give it one last shot. If it fails, so be it, and I'll move on. If not...Well first I have to actually get an RP up and running before I can make any decisions regarding that possible train of events.

Anyway, with my little sob story out of the way, I guess I should at least give some interests and stuff. I'm a big fan of mixing genre settings, like fantasy and modern, sci-fi and magic, etc. I like hybrids because they allow a melding and reforming of tropes and cliche's that actually make them pretty unique. How would clans of magic creatures work within a large scale city, what happens when a race of magical beings discovers the ability to travel through space, and other such basic plot ideas. That said, I only like few specific singular styles. Fantasy, sci-fi, and modern. Yeah, not much of a pool of settings to pull from, but I'm sure that we could make this work if my partner was willing.

Next is my style of RP'ing. I hate the traditional method of RP'ing, each controlling one character, contributing to the plot, blah blah blah. It's boring cause save for a few unique surprises one partner could pull out, there's no real variable. My preferred style is a "mod vs player" style of sorts. One person controls the plot, antagonists, world, etc. It's almost like being the dungeon master of a D&D game, but instead of a whole group, it's only one player your DM'ing for. The reason I like this style is because it provides both parties control and surprise of the plot. The DM could have specific plot points in mind, but the player may do something that completely changes what is available for the DM to dictate. Player needs to slay dragon? Player decides the treasure isn't worth it and decides to instead get gold by robbing villagers and is now wanted by the government as a criminal. And it could work in the reverse as well. Player decides to fight dragon head on like the standard fairy tale story, but gets defeated almost single-handedly because the dragon just flew around him and blew fire at him, like any intelligent creature with flight and ranged attacks would do.

TL;DR It gives both sides' actions weight because whatever they do will have an effect no matter what on the other side's planned actions and how they have to adapt accordingly.

So, with my RP "style" explained and my list of personal preferences of genre/settings, lets get into some rules.

1. Posting: 3 paragraphs minimum on average, meaning posts of 2 paragraphs are alright occasionally as long as your minimum average is 3 paragraphs per post. AKA< low advanced. Also, post once every 2 days, let me know if you are gonna be gone for a little. If you just stop posting for over 5 days and don't respond to any OOC messages, I drop you. Simple stuff really.

2. Mature/Dark Themes and/or elements: I don't really like sex scenes. I don't dislike them either. I'm just indifferent to it. If you insist on this stuff, fine, but if it becomes the norm, I drop you. Same with gore. I also like mature stories, not sex mature but you know, material mature. Stories that create a moral dilemma that forces the character into situations where they're question their very ideals and maybe even break them as people and force them to take monstrous actions, like shooting through a hostage to also kill a criminal that has murdered hundreds if not thousands, and will continue to do so, but if you choose to save the victim he'll definitely get away. Sure, you have to kill an innocent person, but more people will surely die if the criminal goes free. Stuff that creates morally grey areas within a story are great.

3. Romance: It's a 1x1 RP, I know, romance is sort of a standard thing, not because all 1x1's have to have a romantic subplot to be good, but with two characters constantly interacting with one another, it's not that uncommon for them to begin to develop an emotional bond, and even develop romantic feelings for one another. I actually like romance when it's done tastefully, aka NOT BEING LOVEYDOVEY EVERY OTHER FUCKING SENTENCE. If the central plot becomes a side line to the romance of two characters, I'm done. If romance is used to develop characters further, that's fine, it's a good tool of writing, but don't use it as a crutch for bad RP's with bad plots.

4. Don't be a dick. This shouldn't be too hard. If you disagree with something I do, want to change something, drop the RP all together, just be polite. I'm open to change and am willing to change things to continue an RP that I'm invested in, as long as my partner is likable. Honestly, just don't say "This shit sucks, we need to change it cause it's fucking stupid." Say "I'm not really to sure about this plot element, maybe we can change it to something more fitting?" Not too hard right?

Anyways, that's it for me. I don't have any plots in mind, but if you're interested trying to work out an RP plot with me, then either post here or PM me.

P.S. Don't send me just pairing ideas. Those aren't plots, those aren't even fully fleshed concepts. I hate when I see "*insert title* (Plots inside)" and all I fucking get is a list of pairings like slave x princess or demon x angel. These types of posts that lie basically made me hate just using pairings as ideas for RPs.

P.S.S. If my attitude/writing towards certain topics make me seem like I'm an angry person or something like that, I'm not. I'm just very "passionate" towards things that grind my gears. Wasted so much time on so many bullshit int checks that it just aggravates me, especially giving my long standing personal relationship with the site lol.

So, I found the old int check, so I'm just gonna do this, copy and paste the basic description and also link the old int check as well as the old OOC if you guys want to read up more on it.

"This idea has been brewing since I even knew what supernatural monsters and beings were. In a modern day, alternate reality, everything is pretty much the same except the fact that supernatural beings (werewolves, vampires, faeries, dragons, etc.) not only exist but are public knowledge, and have been for several decades now. Of course there is a lot of danger in this, especially if these supernatural beings decide to commit crimes. As a response to this, the government created a new government branch designed to handle "Supernatural crimes and terrorists threats." This branch is known as "Peace Keepers" which is made up of a network of intelligence agencies and field agents. The field agents can be anything from Supernatural beings themselves, to mages, too even regular humans with special made weapons or ancient artifacts to combat other supernatural beings. This plot would follow a squad of agents with at least one new blood and then several other agents which we will be playing. I do have a plot for this, but the best way I can describe it is kind of like...Imagine if we had a crew of super powered fighters going up against a secret terrorist organization, almost like the young justice series :) "

I would go onto explain a second concept to coincide with the plot. While there is an overarching plot for our characters to deal with, I want to interweave between major "arcs" within the rp "personal" arcs for each character. Basically, every character was going to have a "personal" story arc that essentially builds up their character as a person as well as give that RP'er a little time in the spot light as the "main" character of sort, so everyone gets to feel unique and also be the "star" for a little bit.

Anyways, we didn't get very far into the RP because everyone just kind of disappeared, so yeah, six-seven months later, I'm gonna retry this lol.

Also, copy/pasting the rules from the previous int check, so some of this info might be a little out of date (the bit about my other RP is completely irrelevant lol)

"I want to first explain a few things and rules. I'm starting a new RP because my other RP "The Sinners" is moving at a tremendously slow rate. I asked for a 4-5 day time period between each person's post. I would prefer to go faster myself (2-3 days) but being that this is advance and people have other things to do outside this RP, I give a 4-5 day time period. Several members of my other RP have taken a week plus to write responses, and we're already 4+ weeks in with each person having at best 4, the slower ones only having 2-3 up so far. How does this make me feel? Irritated, I give a very reasonable time period, and people still delay posts. If you can't post every 4-5 days, or approximately 3 times every 2 weeks, don't bother reading any further. I don't have the time or patience to waste, sorry if it seems harsh, just tired of RP's losing steam cause people don't want to give adequate effort into doing it. If you can keep this post schedule up, then continue reading. If you can keep up with this schedule, but occasionally need more time, just let me know before hand and then I'll understand. If it becomes a regular thing, then I'll get angry.

Secondly, I am having at most, a maximum, limit, max quota, (insert other word or phrase for "no more allowed" here) of 4 other RP'ers get involved. I intend to do this based on CS's turned into the OOC once we get past the int check, no first come first served, no calling or reserving spots. Everyone gets a few days after the OOC is up to make a character, after that I close the "application period" and review the CS's. From there I will pick at most 4 CS's. This means that not everyone will be accepted, hell that could mean I only pick 2 CS's if I find the others turned in are lacking. If we get less than 3 accepted, I'll give another few days for people to revise, and then make final decisions.

If you are deterred by the walls of text, here's a tl;dr.
1. If you can't post every 4-5 days, gtfo.
2. At most 4 people are accepted based on CS's and even then it might not be a group of 4 accepted. "

So yeah, if you're interested, just say so here in the int check and also just give a quick description of what you're thinking about running for a character as well as a quick description of a personal story arc, for example :

"I'm thinking about making my character be a human warlock that has to deal with the fact that he's slowly being over taken by the demonic spirits that he relies on to use his magical powers."

1. Too everyone reading, I'm looking to take multiple versions of this RP, so please don't be shy and hit me up if you're interested even weeks from now :), Always open to at least discussing and hashing stuff out.

2.@wintersunshine So any questions or concerns? Might be easier to discuss this over PM with me instead of taking up Int check space with questions :)
