Current My roleplay is all tabletop these days, and the part of the guild I used to hang out in doesn't exist anymore. To my friends from this site, I will think of you, and maybe I'll see you again someday.

To my friends from chat: I guess I'll see you around, since I'm still not using discord.

I don't actively RP on the site these days, but I might be convinced to come back if there's a cool fantasy or sci-fi group RP that can capture my interest. Catch me on Second Life, Wildstar, or Chat.

My life has gotten really chaotic. I'll be back to RPing when I can.

I need a good generic fantasy RP, but I can't find one.

"Tricky's trap. She near." The voice came from almost directly above Isabel, and a glance upwards would reveal a short figure, her clothing similar in colour to the forest around her. More notable at the moment was the fact that she was hanging upside down from a tree branch, seemingly completely at ease dangling with her knees hooked over the thin sprig of wood. With a slight swinging motion, she released her hold and began to fall, the branch springing back upwards without her weight. It looked like she was going to land heavily off balance, but as she hit the ground she crumpled into an inelegant but seemingly quite effective roll, if the way that she quickly sprung to her feet after the nearly fifteen foot drop was any indication. She didn't stand straight, instead her posture was more hunched, her center of gravity closer to the ground. Curious eyes peered up at Isabel, the Halfling's head tilted slightly. "You, Smarty out learning, yesyes? Here-" she gestured to the surrounding area, "safe most like. Tricky put traps around, scare ruin people." She peered closer, squinting slightly before creeping forward a bit, moving almost as though she was ready to drop to all fours. "You... IS Smarty, yes? Supposed to meet a Smarty here."
Just gonna wait for Isabel to react to the imp first before I hop in, otherwise there's too much suddenly happening all at once.
Okay, I dig it! Also, I can see that there could be room for an ongoing continuation of this beyond the primary storyline, if interest held, as the mech designs that didn't get selected could still likely find other buyers, meaning that the mech development and refinement could carry on long after this particular contract, except instead of the stakes being "who gets the contract", the stakes would be "Can you KEEP your contract". This could even lead to the organizations holding the mech company contracts putting out requests for mechs that can do specific things, leaving it up to the players to design mechs to fill that specific niche, and how well they perform impacts how well the patron organizations do and how quick they are to give out more work.
This looks incredibly cool, and my internal game designer is super curious as to how the various numbers play against each other. For example, if someone makes an attempt at sending a troubleshooter against a rival group, how does the rival group's security score work to protect them? Are both values added to a dice roll and the higher result wins, or something? I'm quite interested in how the system here works.
My character would be far more likely to pop up in the dangerous part of the ruins rather than a bar. Gisk, if you'd like, Isabel could have already arranged to meet Chak as a guide / protector for travelling into the ruins. If that doesn't fit what you're going for, I'll probably jump in the same time Vagus shows up.
I get the feeling that any university in this city would barely be recognized as a valid acedemic institution anywhere else, despite the fact that there would be no finer place to go to learn about ancient magic. The lack of a "proper" campus and facility may have something to do with that, as any school in the Crumbleport would likely just be built into the ruins like everything else. Interesting character, though!
Well, my character is up on the characters tab!
Name: Chak Gender: Female Age: Unknown, appears to be a young adult Race: Halfling Appearance: Instead of metal her armor plates are made of wood with bone and wood spikes.
Height and Weight: 3'0" Weapons/Items: She carries several primitive weapons. A rough wooden boomerang, multiple flint knives, and a curved tusk with a grip that she wields like a mix of a sword (with the sharp point) or a club (the rest of the tusk). Her boomerang and knives aren't of exceptional quality, but as she knows how to make them she doesn't seem to mind treating them as totally disposable weapons. Skills: Chack is an exceptional climber, and while her movements may lack any sense of flair she is capable of being incredibly agile. She also knows how to construct simple weapons and armor using scavenged materials, and frequently spends her downtime chipping out a new knife or carving down a boomerang. She also makes small scrimshaw carvings, often crude representations of animals, or else just strange marks that she seems to invent. She's a middling shot with her boomerang, but she's terrifying with her other weapons in melee combat. She fights like an animal, jumping onto her target before pulling out her short, sharp weapons or else twisting joints and even biting at exposed flesh. Magic: She seems to treat some of her scrimshaw carvings as though they had some mystic significance, but nobody has ever seen them do anything. Personality: Chak is naturally clever, but she grew up without any exposure to civilization beyond seeing strange dangerous people go through the ruins. Her behavior is almost animalistic in some regards, and not in the cute or endearing way. She prefers to communicate in grunts when she can, mostly in regards to yes / no questions and the like, since she still doesn't have a good grasp on the common language and finds it unpleasant to try to express herself with it. Bio: Left at the Crumbleport orphanage at a very young age, the Halfling that would become Chak was a normal, curious child. Like any curious child, she wanted to explore. Nobody noticed until nightfall that she had wandered off, and by then she was lost to the ruins. She was quickly presumed dead. The lucky young Halfling wasn't dead though, and instead managed to survive and even eventually thrive living in the wilderness. She learned to make tools and protection from natural materials, patterned after the objects used by the tall creatures coming and going from the city. She learned to hunt, and in time became a dangerous predator herself.
Well, whenever someone starts it up, I have faith that the chronicles of Crumbleport will be interesting :P
Considering the location and the fact that it's built in ruins, Crumbleport could fit. Unless of course the city doesn't have a proper name, and grew out of a bunch of wanderers just pitching tents in the ruins and grew over time. In that case it might just be referred to as The Sprawl, The Town, Safety, or something like that.
