Lol yeah, hope Shawdowcatcher doesn't mind I went ahead and threw that in.
Diego burst into the apartment, sweat pouring down his face. He sighed in relief as the cool air of the apartment hit his face. Bliss, the Aipom, trudged in behind him trying to catch her breath. The two had gone on an afternoon jog which Diego had quickly turned into a training session. The two had spent the last hour an a half running back and forth between Jaune and Rouge plaza throwing in some body weight workouts. While Diego felt invigorated, the Aipom clearly was not as pleased.

The two were just glad to see the air conditioning was on. Apparently some torublemakers down at the power stations had caused a few short power outages throughout the city. Walking into the kitchen and grabbing a cold bottle of water, Diego then tossed a smaller one to Bliss who deftly caught it with her tail and began drinking from it thirstily. "Oh come one now, don't exaggerate. That was just a fun jog." He laughed out loud as Bliss rolled her eyes. "You know you miss the hurdle jump. Showing all those posers what a real athlete looks like." While Bliss had competed just as well as any of his other Pokemon, it was clear that she enjoyed being part of a team more than the actual events, which was why she had been the only one to deny his offer of staying back in Johto. Diego was very curious as to how she'd do in battle.

"Still though, Lumiose is nice. So much to do, there's a huge gym, oh and those Kalos women. Did you see that girl coming out of the Pokeball shop? Man I'd like to-"

"You'd like to do what exactly?"

Diego jumped as his mother walked into the kitchen.

"Um, nothing. What are you doing home, mom?" he asked as Bliss snickered behind him.

"I took the afternoon off. Today was the day you were going to go pick up a Pokemon from Professor Sycamore right? Well I'm coming for one too. With your father gone most of the week and you leaving there's no way I'm staying here alone. Besides, they're really relaxed at work about bring your Pokemon to work as long they don't get in the way. There's even a few battles at lunch time!" An excited grin spread across her face but quickly melted away as she sniffed the air. "You two reek. There's no way we're going to the lab like this. Quick go take a shower, and I'll help Bliss wash up." She looked at the Aipom, glaring "And if you get my clothes wet like last time, we won't be stopping for galettes."

*****

An hour later found Diego, an his mother and Bliss walking the streets of Lumiose each munching on a tasty Lumiose Galette. While the idea of bringing his mom with him initially seemed like a perfect setup for embarrassment, Diego had to admit she rarely did anything to embarrass him. It's not like she would butt in if he tried to talk to any of the beautiful young ladies he was sure to run into. Dad though... well, thank goodness he wasn't here.

Bliss who was situated up on Diego's shoulders pointed ahead at the lab. There was no mistaking it. Even if it didn't look exactly like the building on the flier, it was quite clearly a lab for Pokemon. Or at least a fancy Pokemon Center. Still, Diego was surprised he'd never noticed it before. Had he just not been in this area of the city yet? It was easy to get lost, and he still hadn't been living here very long.

Diego walked into the lab, surprised to find so many people there. Sure he had expected a crowd, but not quite like this. Apparently Sycamore did his job well, or whatever poor sap he had promoting this event did his job well. Diego and his mother walked off to the side, Diego watching the crowd. He looked for the girls. He looked for the trainers. He looked for the people who looked like they had a sense of purpose. Who would his rivals be? Who would he battle someday? Would any of these people be his friends? There was so much potential in this room. He wondered if any one else felt it.

So it means

Glass`s are more (better) than goggles

I think you missed the joke...
My trainer's wants to bring out the best in whatever he gets, so what fun is an already super powerful Pokemon. He likes bug Pokemon though, so Beedrill's looking real good for a mega. Pinsir's taken, but never really liked Pinsir. Not feeling Heracross. Getting another Scizor would feel like cheating on his Pokeathlon star XP Am I missing any mega bugs?

Or I could just say screw it an go with slowbro...

As for the legendary, I'm same boat as Loony. At most just be friends and call on em in moments of great need.
Yeah, same. Its cool to have a variety, but at the same time its also cool to see how different the two individuals can be and how they grow into different Pokemon as a result of their trainers way of interacting with them.

Beautiful

"Think you can keep up?"

Name: Diego
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Height/Weight: 6'2" 170 lbs
Personality:

One of the first things people notice about him is his confidence, call it arrogance or cockiness because that's what it is. As far as he is concerned, he can do anything because he knows he has the brains and the discipline to see it through. This world is his for the taking, but he's willing to share with those who fight as hard as he does. Overall he is friendly though. He believes that above all things, you need to respect yourself for who you are. It irritates him to no end to deal with people who can't do that. Rainer has a simple sense of humor, in that it doesn't take much to make him laugh. Stupid jokes, dirty jokes, toilet humor, clever wordplay, corny wordplay all do it for him. He just loves to laugh. He's also a flirt. He definitely enjoys he female form and has no shame in letting a girl know he's interested. He's become a good bluffer and can pull off some pretty big lies without a hint of doubt. That's not to say he's a good liar overall. When it comes to personal matters, guilt can easily get the best of him.

History:

Diego was born in the Johto region, growing up just outside of Goldenrod City. His mother had a job in the the city, while his father, an outdoorsman who would never dream of living in the big city, worked at the National Park. As such he had a comfortable normal life. Not lacking in anything, but not having any excess either.

Diego found himself at home in both places, and quickly grew to love exploring both and getting to know the Pokemon. Spending so much time at the Park, he naturally developed an affinity for bug-types, eventually going so far as to catch a few. He even managed to catch a Scyther during one of the park's contests. (Unfortunately he came in second place to a Weedle... he suspects they couldn't let him win due to his dad working at the park).

Eventually he set his eyes on the Pokeathlon Dome. It became a thrill to him to work alongside his Pokemon to train them in their physical abilities. It was this that led to him searching out different varieties of Pokemon, to test their strengths and weaknesses in the Dome. He grew to be a rather successful athlete in a few years, making it to the Supreme Cup and competing against the best trainers and even some Gym Leaders at 15. His Scyther even managed to master all five Pokeathlon stats, and eventually earned enough points to trade for a Metal Coat an evolve.

Unfortunately, Diego's run came to an end when his mother was transferred to Lumiose City. He left most of his Pokemon behind with a friend, as he didn't have the heart to separate them from their passion. However he brought along his Aipom, which never really liked competing anyway. With the move, Diego's father had to find a new job, now working as a guide at Parfum Palace. Diego doesn't see his parents as much, as his father's gone days at a time and his mother's always busy. Still, he had no issue settling into his new life in the big city. He's enjoying the lights, the noise, the sheer amount of things to do. Even Goldenrod wasn't this busy. The girls in Kalos are something else too. However, he misses the Pokemon in the wild and training and competing. Once he feels his family's all settled in, he plans to take off on a journey to gather the gym badges. If he can't train Pokemon to compete athletically, he'll just have to train for battle.

Dream/Goal: To grow and bring out the very best of himself and his Pokemon. He's not set on his eventual goals, but no matter what he's doing, he's going to give it all he's got.
