Current Teaching myself web development by trying to fix some BBCode bugs/features in the Guild is probably a bad idea. Oh, well.

If school were less hard, it'd be less interesting. I still want it to be less hard, though.

Just a warning - I'll be out of town for the next two weeks or so. I'll have a laptop, but I'm not certain when I will and when I won't have internet. If you need Dr. Kate to do something, feel free to just make her do it.
I think the second way would be more interesting. Though it could get pretty detailed pretty quickly.
You play a TV show (or rather, its associated crew and actors) vying for a spot on prime time television. Possibly you play an actor or crewmember for someone else's TV show. Every half-season, the National Broadcasting Network (NBN) receives the new ratings and reschedules all the shows accordingly.

The goal, aside from the antics that competing TV shows shot in close proximity to one another are bound to have, is to obtain and keep a prime time slot.

That's the basic concept. It needs some work, and I'm uncertain where the RP would belong. It's sort-of like a nation RP, but it definitely isn't. On the other hand, it might end up in tabletop or arena because of the competitive scoring nature. Or maybe it's just a normal RP. I'm leaning toward that. Think Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip in RP form. The glaring problem is, of course, determining the Nielsen rating in a fair manner.

You could play almost any type of show - live sketch comedy, particularly exciting news of some sort (bit of a stretch there), action serials, scifi monster-of-the week, drama, 1/2 hour comedy, and so on.

Dr. Kate's alarm had grown from mildly to more than slightly. A vial of smallpox, just sitting out in the open-! Her eyes had grown a little bit wider with a shock, until something clicked in her head. That was a joke. This woman was joking. Penelope didn't like to smile around other people. But Ylva was making her grin madly. Penelope, for once in her life, didn't have to hide her passion from someone. There was danger in friendship, though. The more people that learned of her plans with ascension, the more likely the Ancients would find out and intervene in some manner. If they didn't know already. Which they probably did. Her smile turned a bit rueful. She reached for the vial and grabbed it.

Even so, people's religious beliefs probably wouldn't mesh well with her plans. Some part of Penelope's mind would forever caution her against other people. They didn't behave consistently. Their reactions couldn't be counted upon. Her own reactions were suspect, on occasion. Perhaps there was something she could do about that if she ever ascended. Why not add a little order to the lower planes of existence while she was up there? Dr. Kate neatly filed that thought away for later.

“Taking human life isn’t much of a joke, mainly when you’re the victim or have to deal with the mess afterwards," Dr. Sterling said. "I would’ve hoped those who handle such weapons would show that respect…even if it’s so easy for them to take it.”

Joseph's remarks brought Penelope back to reality. She hated him for it. Damnit, it was hard enough for her to trust someone enough to make a friend as it was, without him interfering. An idea danced through her brain. Penelope casually dropped the vial, shattering it against the deck.

"Oops. Now I've killed us all," Penelope said, staring Ylva in the eye. Ylva better have been joking. Dr. Kate was obviously confident that Ylva had been joking. Probably. "At least lead won't shatter if I drop it." She turned to Joseph. "Doctor Sterling, I have the utmost respect for human life. That's why I advocate weapons designed both to decisively end and prevent conflict. But I also like to laugh, on occasion. Behind closed doors, every professional needs to laugh."
Joshua15555 - sure, go ahead an make a nation sheet.

Ooh! Strawberry frappuchino! My favorite (as of now) drink!
I think it's red, obviously. Aside from my hair being red (okay, really, it's orange, but that's almost close), cherries are red. So there. But I positively adore obviously-fake bright red hair. Or obviously-fake dark red hair.
Langford's Primary Lab:

Penelope was midcalculation when she overheard Ylva mention quite a few gasous agents. Disturbingly virulent, deadly agents. The kind of thing that could get out of control very easily. Oh, sure, you could guarantee that nothing wandered through empty space to the Langford, but what about when you were making it? Or transporting it? Messy, horrible, awful ways to kill someone. But still, something piqued her curiousity. The only other person in the lab was the ship's doctor. Although he was attractive (not that she'd ever admit it), he wasn't talking about mass murder. Something which, Penelope thought with a smile, she herself was fairly well-versed in.

"Why does nobody ever think of using radiological weapons," Penelope muttered to herself.

Some small part of her noted that she really ought to get to know Joseph as well, considering that her best option for ascension was still medically based. The trick would be to induce 90% synaptic activity... without inducing seizures. Short of an Ancient lab, she wasn't certain how that would even be possible, but she was no medical profesional. Her research - here her eyes wandered to the stack of rather thick and dry books on unscientific methods of ascension - indicated that a path via meditation was possible. Though how possible that path was with Oma Desala "busy" was questionable. A sudden, horrible thought occured to her.

"Are you making Sarin gas in... here?" Dr. Kate asked out loud.

Her mind switched gears again, briefly. Morgan Le Fay and Oma Desala were eternally busy fighting some ultimate evils. Perhaps even the threat of... distracting either of those ascended beings would be enough to get the Lucian Alliance back into line. Of course, that would depend if someone could even attain an ascended level in the first place.
I've updated the collab. Is everyone just waiting on these collab posts to post, or...?
