Yukine

It was supposed to be just another peaceful morning. The new onmyouji would show up, the priestess would teach them about their powers, and they would all become good friends. However, when the alarm went off, the kitsune knew it wouldn't be so simple. She dutifully trotted to the temple to hear what the problem was and was shocked to hear that a tier 3 of all things was terrorizing the town. Her first thought was, Why? Yokai that possessed that much power and intelligence rarely initiated an open attack on humans without a good reason. Even the ones that were just dark-hearted and cruel knew better then to attack highly populated areas like this. Surely the Yokai knew that onmyouji would be on the way to stop it... Then again, she had lived a long time, and things like this did happen.

After the briefing, she watched everyone depart. If it was just a ghost or annoying imp, she might have sat this one out, but a tier 3? She didn't want anyone to get hurt. In a flare of blue fire, she took her humanoid form and darted outside to help the groups. After all, Hikari herself had asked any friendly yokai to help. However, she came to a sudden stop when she saw Inugami. The surly mutt glared at everyone, berating them for their slowness as they scrambled to take off... Yeah, seemed like he was in a particularly good mood. Still, for whatever reason, Inugami wasn't too fond of foxes like her. "Umm, I'll follow on foot," Yukine said, not daring to get on the beast's back. "I'm plenty fast enough on my own." She laughed nervously, and then darted down the stairs once he took off, making her way towards the fire.

When they arrived, Yukine looked around and tried to decide how to assist. She wasn't assigned to either team, so she was free to pick. Niko looked nervous being in charge of two newcomers despite Tsugu's confidence. But, could one drunk Tanuki really keep them all safe? Yukine decided to give them a hand. As Takemi hopped off of Inugami, Yukine approached and gave her a friendly wave. "Hi there. I'm Yukine!" She gave a bright smile as her three tails swished. "I know you've probably never done anything like this before, so I'll help keep you safe. Just stay calm, follow Niko's instructions, and you'll be fine." Yukine looked over at Niko and gave her a thumbs up; she knew the young priestess would probably be happy to have the support. She then looked at the other new boy and... well, for some reason she couldn't think of anything to say to him. It was as if he communicated with blank stares, and unfortunately, she was not fluid in that language.

@Veradana@Rice Porridge@Cherrywitch
@Rice Porridge Just so you know, Yukine is in her fox form right now, so Yuudai would have no way of recognizing her.
I'll probably post again once Takemi and Megumi are at the top of the stairs.
That's pretty low on the list, so I'm not so keen on doing it ^^;

Well, if you decide you want to, shoot me a PM.
Dragon Shifters sounds like a neat idea. I'd be interested in hearing more if you're still looking to do it.
The downside of being old and from a completely different era, was you had no idea how this mysterious thing known as 'Technology' worked.

Oh, I plan on having lots of fun with Yukine and technology. She's definitely not oblivious to it, but she... misunderstands a few things. Haha.

Though knowledge of yokai is a close-kept secret among only a small group of humans, perhaps it would not be so if people gave more heed to the stories told by the old folks of Kokona. Folk tales of kitsune are innumerable, but Kokona seems to have a few unique stories of its own. One old woman claims a white fox guided her out of the woods when she was lost as a child. Another old man tells the same story over and over about a woman he used to drink with. He swears he saw her disappear into the woods; everyone else swears he was drunk. Perhaps the only person who really knew the truth behind such tall tales was the three-tailed fox bathing in the sun in the courtyard of Obake Shrine.

Yukine stretched and yawned, still in her fox form, as she awoke from her nap. She normally wasn't a morning person, but today was one day she didn't want to sleep in. The shrine was expecting a new group of Onmyouji today, and Yukine wanted to be there to meet them. She wondered what kind of people they would be. Perhaps the descendant of an Iga ninja... or maybe a tech-savvy inventor that would bring all kinds of new gadgets to the shrine. Her tails swished with excitement as she let her imagination get carried away. Of course, even if they were just relatively normal high-school students, that didn't mean they wouldn't be great people. More than anything, she was just eager to make some new friends, ones she didn't have to hide herself around and lie to. Perhaps she'd finally find an Onmyouji of her own among them.

She trotted up to the gate just in time to see Kyorinrin, their resident scholar, lecturing the newcomers about his books. Yukine giggled.
"Now now, don't scare them away with all your rules, Kyo." It was a little habit of hers to truncate names to one or two syllables. Some people found it annoying, but those people were no fun and probably not ones she wanted to be around anyway. "You could at least tell them your name before you ramble on about your books." She gave the dragon a vulpine grin, which looked rather odd and unnatural in her fox form. Perhaps there was a bit of irony in the fact that she hadn't introduced herself yet, either. Then again, she wasn't talking to the group like he was.
@Raging Fenrir, Does Yukine like videogames? Ramiel might want to play some with her.

Oh, I'm sure she'd love to.
That could be cool.

Also, speaking of which, since this is a slice of life, will the setting sometimes switch to school? Since normal students can't see the yokai and all... Could be fun.

She can definitely prowl school grounds in her fox form, and she probably has enrolled as an exchange student several times throughout the years.
We certainly have a colorful cast here. Can't wait to have Yukine interact with them.

@Sho MinazukiI can see him and Yukine having an SAO tag-team style of combat against enemies.
