"I'm sorry, I don't understand myself sometimes. Sorry."Name: Chase Byrnes
Age and Grade: 17, Junior
Gender: Male
Appearance: Chase stands at around 5'8''. At first glance, he seems rather...jock-ish, if you will. He does regularly work out for the sake of being healthy. He has broad shoulders and a compact frame. His skin complexion is smooth and unblemished except for the splatter of freckles on his face and across his chest. He has light brown hair that is kept at a short cut, dark blue eyes, and a rather charming, if not sorrowful smile.
His usual attire consists of a plain t-shirt, jeans, boots, and a jacket if it's cold. He isn't at all fashionable and chooses comfort over style.
Personality: He's your typical quiet nice guy. Chase is calm and subdued in his interactions. He prefers to fade into the background and offers advice and counsel rather then taking charge directly. He is polite and restrained when interacting with people, often outwardly friendly when needed. He also doesn't know how to refuse someone even if the request makes him uncomfortable. He apologizes for everything he does, even if he didn't do anything wrong in the first place. He can be quite thick-headed at times when it comes down to personal relationships.
Backstory: Chase would wake up in the morning feeling rather mellow when he was younger. He would go to school and then come home only to curl up under his covers and sleep. He had a good life, a good child-hood, good grades, good everything. (His parents are filthy rich). Yet the world to him was a canvas of monochrome colors. Maybe those feelings occurred ever since Miranda Salders cheated on him with Richard Norton in eighth grade or maybe it was because he had no real friends since his parents moved every year due to their professions. He was aware that something was wrong with him, but at the same time, there wasn't anything wrong. It was as if everything was moving around him, but he was at a standstill.
What drew him out of his shell was art. He's quite talented at it, especially sculpting. His parents paid a decent amount for lessons and soon enough, Chase was attending numerous honorary art ceremonies. Although he had won many awards, Chase still struggled to receive any sort of acknowledgement from his distant parents. His parent's withdrawal deeply affected him. While he was known to be 'friendly' and 'kind', Chase was also known as a person who secluded himself from others.
He joined S.P.I.R.I.T mainly to broaden his horizons - After all, learning about supernatural stuff should be fun, right? Maybe he'll make some new friends.
Skills and Strengths: - Amazing at art, especially sculpting.
- He's rather tolerant of...unsavory characters. Anyways, Chase is a good friend.
- Chase is smart. He's got a high GPA and is always willing to help someone out.
- Has a crazy high pain-tolerance.
- He forgives people without holding any future grudges.
Flaws and Weaknesses: - Can't tell a lie. He's also terrible at trying to make up excuses so he tends to awkwardly run away.
- Doesn't know how to refuse someone.
- Terrible at cooking. He will burn everything, even fried eggs.
- He's so thick-headed at times that Chase can say some insensitive things to others.
- Has a difficult time
letting someone become his friend. He's extremely protective of himself.
Quirks: - When he's stressed, he'll start talking to his sculptures.
- He's got a whole army of clay animals in his closet. Chase gives them names and cares for every one of them like a pet.
- Mr. Birdy is his favorite, so he keeps him in his pocket at all times.
