The idea of committing murder is pretty absurd to the regular person, right? 24 random people within a dining hall are forced to play the game of death. In pairs of two, a person is assigned as a target to kill. That means, the 24 people are given 12 targets, in pairs of two.
All participants are given exactly 1 week from then to eliminate their target. Besides the obvious, the biggest problem for the participants is that their actual target isn't explicitly told to them. Several hints are given. If people aren't finding their target, more hints will be revealed to everyone. On the final day, everyone's target is revealed. The rules include:
1.) Going against any rules will result in your death.
2.) Leaving the current country, state/province, or even city is strictly forbidden.
3.) Killing your "partner" is not permitted. Whether you help each other or not, they can not be killed in any way in result of your actions.
4.) Killing any other participants is also not permitted under the same terms.
5.) Killing other participants' targets is not allowed. The only exception is if both people who are assigned that target are somehow deceased. If two deceased participant's target is killed by you, you are allowed to continue on with the game.
5.) Once a pair's target is eliminated, that who did not commit the murder is "eliminated" from the game. The game will continue into the next round of 12 participants, and will continue on halving the number it is either 3 or 2. If three, a regular target is given and the one to kill is the winner. If two, the participants are given the other player as a target. Now, what happens to the winner... That's to find out.
The method of murder is completely irrelevant, as long as the death is a result of your actions. Stabbing, crushing, slashing, choking, poisoning, ripping, eating, burning, freezing, breaking... You can even hire hitmen if you want to. All that matters is that you get to the target first.

You could probably see that it's inspired by Dangan Ronpa, but you know, whatevs. I've been thinking about this idea for a while now. I considered making it into a novel but I decided against it. I personally think it would work significantly better as a novel, but I'd like to try it out as an RP before I commit to making a novel about it.
It would probably be best if any and all participants have multiple characters. It'd also probably be best if no player characters got grouped together for a target, UNLESS it'd work based on realism and player characters would be given a list of possible targets and they are required to figure it out themselves.
Thoughts? I would specifically like to know if anyone thinks this would totally not work at all. I'm currently on the fence if it would actually work at all.
