Mostly. We occasionally run machinery, but only the kind that we bothered to adapt to the current these trees produce. Like the rare refrigerator.

They are, sort of. These trees and their magically created nervous systems are so large that there's a bloody enormous amount of electricity running through them at any moment. They take it from the sky and give whatever they don't need to us.
