Region: China
Source: Chinese Mythology
Attribute:Earth
Weapon:Yes
Parameters:STR: B+
CON: A
AGI: A
MAG: B
LUK: C
Class Skills: Magic Resistance: A
Cancels magecraft of A-rank or below, including even instant contracts. Different from the Resistance effect that merely rejects prana, this ability cancels the spells altogether. In practice, no Magi of the modern era are capable of harming Saber. Chi You possess' a divine Qi which reaches the level of the Heavens while still retaining her humanity.
In addition, as depicted in legend, she herself was a first-rate practitioner of magecraft who originated Chinese weather magecraft to oppose the Yellow Emperor. Even when facing that man who himself is the patriarch of multiple thaumturgical foundations, she didn't budge an inch. Saber won't be waylaid by the lesser magics of more modern eras.
Riding: B
Ability to ride things. She can ride most vehicles with above average skill. However, Saber cannot ride monstrous or phantasmal beasts. They are most adept with horses but when it comes to chariots, they'll kindly refuse.
Personal Skills: Battle Continuation: A+
Does not give up easily. It allows for battle even on the verge of death, and allows the user to stay alive until they receive a clearly fatal blow. It also reduces the mortality rate from injury. In legend, Sabers death was reached only by quartering her body and separating it in each cardinal direction. Even in that case they did not fully die, and so a Heavenly Dragon had to sacrifice its life to fully eradicate Chiyou. It is a miraculous tenacity which surpasses the normal limitations of simply struggling against death. Even in the case of the Mother Goddess Nuwa dropping a sacred anti-evil mountain on her, she somehow found a way to survive.
Martial Form (Origin): -
A vestment ordained to the progenitor of Chinese Martial Techniques. Rather than rationality or technique, this could be called a burden of existence inherent to the nature of Saber. It is a wellspring from which knowledge emerges through emulation, a origin point which inspired what came after it. In that sense it may not be 'learned', merely just 'emulated' by those that witness it. Those humans who witnessed Chiyou's invention of war techniques created the rationality of 'Chinese Martial Arts' on these concepts which were to Chiyou like breathing. Even compared to the two greatest mythological Emperors of China, the Red Emperor held a decisive advantage in battle. In conjunction with their weapons, they earned the moniker 'God of War'.
From the perspective of those which emulate Chiyou in the arts of war, truly they could be called 'peerless'.
This is not a blessing from the Gods, skill built upon rationality and technique, or even an expression of primal human power. It is the origin of violence which inspired those that came after it. It's not unlike comparing the recreation of a miracle to the genuine article.
Fundamentally this is the 'Form of the War God' which Cheng Gong sought to emulate through Lu Bu.
Scarlet Pulse of the War God: A+
A mutation of something like the clairvoyance skill. A burden of the 'War God'.
The Red Emperor holds eyes which are the equal and opposite of those owned by the Yellow Emperor, who had attained the eyes of the 'Yellow Dragon of the Center'. In the Red Emperor's case, they were eyes that 'Gaze in All Directions at Once'. It operates as an abnormal channel gifted to them from birth from a certain Vijñāna. In other words, a circuit carved into their mind because of a desire for war. It is an always active ability which gives them an alien perception of the world, something which allows them to perceive 'War' and 'Battle' at a fundamental level not reachable under normal circumstances.
A form of psychic ability, in other words. It is possible to align to this circuit greater than usual, but it's possible overuse will damage her qualifications as a Heroic Spirit. Or, rather, its better to say; as a 'Human Being' rather than as 'War'.
A precept founded on the spirit and mind rather than body, an ability entering the realm of Vijnapti-Matrata.
Demon King: A
A monster whose perception in life later twisted what she had actually been in the past. Abilities and appearance have been distorted. Because she fully acknowledged this eventuality in life, it becomes possible for Saber to activate or deactivate it at her own choosing. In other words, it's possible to receive the benefits without any demerits. A skill to be compared to innocent monster, even if they are different burdens. It becomes possible for them to take on the appearance of a normal human, or the proper '8-armed Demon Ox King' who shook the foundations of Heaven and Earth.
Saber was one of the three great founding Emperors of China alongside the Flame Emperor and Yellow Emperor. Filled with conceit, they were the cruel and greedy tyrant who invented warfare to seize the Flame Emperors lands- only to be repulsed and killed after decades of warfare. She was a fierce tyrant who opposed the Gods, China's founding Heroes, and even the Dragons of Heaven in open battle. Hers is a fate bound to the blood she spilled, a God of War who shares a karma and destructive Qi not unlike the greatest warrior of the Three Kingdoms era. In war they became a 'demon' who went so far as to bloat out the sun itself to assure victory in battle.
As an aside, it is said it is said that Chiyou is the origin of the Taotie, one of the four great evils of the world. The Mogwai(Mara) of China found their basis within Saber, who can be conflated with the original evil spirit. She is the great Earth-Swallowing Serpent who could even consume the Limitless Horizon if left unchecked- that is to say, the spirit of War itself.
God Force Origin
War God's Thousandfold ArmamentsRank: A++
Type: Anti-Unit
Range: 1
Maximum Number of Targets: 8 Weapons
Description:
Divine construct. The strongest implement of war from the mythological era of China- an expression of Sabers ancedote as the 'Inventor of Weaponry'. A fabulous multi-tool created by Chiyou using the ores of Mount Lushan to create the original weapons. That is to say- Axe, Sword, Shield, Lance, Bow and Arrow, Chain, etc. These are the original weapons forged by the blacksmith Chiyou to oppose the Yellow Emperor in war.
It is a modular weapon system which can switch between various weapon types or even detach individual weapons to be wielded seperately. This is the weapon system Chen Gong sought to emulate through both Lu Bu and Houtengageki; an attempt at materializing the War God, Chiyou, in the Three Kingdoms Era.
As a weapon system each individual component is the ancestor of what would come after. Through her right and authority as God of War, then, they can take up the trappings and attributes of their possible deviations- any of their children. It is a tool of overwhelming power that shows its true worth in the hands of someone like Chiyou, who can earnestly wield it to its fullest potential.
Blessings of Mount Tai
Scarlet Rain of Ten-Thousand FlowersRank: D
Type: Anti-Civilization/Anti-Evil
Range: 1~99
Maximum Number of Targets: 1
Description:
An expression of the Heavenly Qi found within Chi You. When they were finally defeated, her blades became the forests of China. Her chains, the life giving fruit trees. Her body parts sealed evils and defined the cardinal directions. Her lifeblood fell from the skies, fertilizing the lands for farming.
The Red Emperors Qi itself, her lifeforce, became infused with all of China. By becoming the Demon King to be slain and overcome by the great founder, she established China alongside him.
This Noble Phantasm is an expression of that feat. It is a Noble Phantasm which takes in the carnage inflicted upon the land and releases it after Chiyou's death. A feat of civilization establishment and solidification that can only materialize on Chiyou's death; an ability which lets them pass along their Qi to the next generation. Just as they passed war and weaponry to their descendants, it also allows them to pass along the right to live.
Whatever land and people become the target, surely they will be blessed with a weight of history equaling four thousand years.
