At least Bethesda treats us like we're people instead of wallets on legs that need milking machines, like EA seems to think customers are.

Unless you think you can improve her chances.
@floodtalon, what is lasso rope? Hessian? I'm not sure what the difference is. And can I persuade you to have unbendable fingers? Call it the index and middle fingers unbendable and barrels, with the ring and pinky fingers normal?
How would Guilt know that Archangel was influenced by the Clairvoyant? Everybody in the City is, to a greater or lesser degree. Anyway... Event today. Long post will be up before the end of my day.
@thewizardguy, you were invited?
@thewizardguy@AtomicNut: It's magic. Epic powers tell the universe to sit down and shut up. Which leads me neatly into:

@thewizardguy, the High Island is going to tell you something and make an offer. If Guilt keeps getting involved in other people's fights, without a pause to breathe, then I'll escalate things. Just take down minor criminals once in a while instead of always going for PCs, OK?

@Obscurus, you're in. Have fun. New event in Central Park or middle of town shortly. Jet Fuel is welcome as well, and we can put him in the shared character box.

@floodtalon, can we make the weakness "rope" or a specific type of "lasso rope"? Also, can he bend his fingers, considering they're gun barrels? Is he reduced to grabbing things like he has pincers?
@Override, it's just DM guess. I'd not override @Feisty-Pants without a good reason.

@AtomicNut, thanks. I'll put him in the proper place shortly.
@Override, individually, I'd say he safe. Considering she's conjured a rough hundred of them that she could target at the same spot, I would rule on the side of Devilstrider being injured rather badly. Not fatally, but certainly enough to bleed and perhaps need medical attention.
@thewizardguy, I did say in the beginning this was going to be about the people, not the powers. Guilt has set herself up in opposition to the High. You've said as much several times. She's pressing against the boundaries of the City. What else is supposed to happen but the enforcers of those boundaries start pushing back?

Guilt is, by her own admission, a weapon designed to kill Epics. She has set herself the goal of killing the High, or at least bringing them down to normal. She's declaring herself a player in a game she doesn't even fully comprehend. Island isn't being adversarial. He's trying to be nice. So was the Clairvoyant. They are, by all judgement, gods. And you thumbed your nose at the nicest of them.

Guilt's arc, as I see it, is her either healing from the experiments inflicted on her as a child, like River Tam from Firefly, or revelling in the monster they made her to be, until her powers become too strong for her to control. I would go with a normal person trying to redeem her, but I've had very little time with Guilt being anything other than a vengeful black hole. Did I pick up the wrong plotline for you?
I had a short discussion with OA about the Hugh's individual personalities. Might come in handy for you all, so I'll paraphrase it here.

{High Island} is laid back and calm. He's noninterventionist, but prefers to act before his siblings escalate things in their own way. Of course, that would require him noticing a problem first.

<High Clairvoyant> is both meddling and motherly. The only thing stopping her from being everyone's helicopter parent is the sheer number of people she's chosen to shepherd. She is one of the more active High, just because she likes helping people.

#High Venom# is insane. She's gone so far insane that she's come around and started approaching sanity from the other side. When she acts, she acts decisively and without regard for anyone or anything under her care.

∆High Electric∆ is a businessman and a gambler. If the Laws of Thermodynamics are a game, he's learning how to cheat. This wrestling with the basic laws of reality is why his interaction with the city is limited to providing power; it's what he does subconsciously.

~High Prescient~ is bored. Really, really, really bored. Einstein said God doesn't play dice with the universe. He was right, if only because the Prescient has designed their own game played on a level that confuses even the other High.
@Feisty-Pants, What the Prescient is, is really, really bored.

I'll be available for the next couple of hours, but OA is likely to only be available in about 8 hours. We can leave y'all unattended for that long, right?
