I need to know what was going through your mind in that moment.

Almost exclusively “I have to make a good impression with this handshake!” I was told people respect a good, firm shake, so I interpreted it as a bit of a sliding scale, where a firmer handshake meant a better first impression.

*Laughs*
So you just take out this guy's hand. I hope he's not still mad at you.

Didn’t stay that way forever. I helped a bit, and it was when we met, so he got to learn afterward exactly what I was and what my deal was.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>

No, I believe you, I'm just impressed. Did you realize that his hand would break if you squeezed it that hard?

I admittedly was smart enough to know. But with priorities as jumbled as they were, it got totally dismissed from my mind.

*Raises both of my eyebrows*
That’s... yeah, wow.

*Laughs*
It wasn’t malicious, I promise.

<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>

Hmm. Iveb een working on establishing trade route with them for a while, but didnt really have a proper way to contact them about it.

*Taps my chin*
Yeahh, I’ve got no personal ties to the government itself. But if anyone could point you in the right direction, it’s… Well, it’s Lewis, but he doesn’t exactly frequent this place, huh?
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>

What’d you find out about the handshakes?

As simple of an answer as you’d think. They’re for greetings, first meeting people, agreements. I broke a guy’s hand after I learned people respect a firm handshake and I made mine a little too firm.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>

I feel like the voice part would be either really easy or really hard.

It wasn’t easy for me. I’ll say that much.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>

Give me an example?

Learning for the first time what handshakes are for. What money is for and why people use it. What a wink means. The eternal learning of all the different meanings behind the inflection and emphasis in people’s voices when they speak.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>

Of everything being new?

Yes. Even loads of trivial stuff you probably take for granted, and that I probably take for granted now. There was mysterious wonder in literally everything.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>

Was there anything better about your time back then?

Mm… The awe was probably the one thing.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>

I did! I listen to a lot of stories, and that’s not the kind of journey I get to hear about very often.

I’m glad. I don’t get to reminisce often. It’s fun to think about the good times, but I like me now way more.
