I have a pair of redheaded (usually) werewolf fraternal twins. The older Kimberly, the younger Kevin.
Kimberly was a free spirit. The 'puppy' that ran and explored and lived her life freely and rarely considered consequences before her actions. She can take things seriously, she just tries not to if she can help it.
Kevin was the more responsible of the two, controlled and calm. He looked after himself and Kim, protecting them both since they were orphaned at a very young age.
In the first RP I used them in, it was a medieval fantasy roleplay. They were mercenaries with honor. And they were hired by the royal family, or specifically the king, to look after his two daughters. The slightly snobbish and proud Ranea who had a penchant for getting herself in trouble because she believed she could do anything. And the sweet hearted cute Kikaru.
The RP stays pretty normal for some time. They have to protect the princesses here and there, mostly just cute shenanigans.
And Kim and Ranea slowly start to fall in love. As their relationship grows closer and more romantic there's the heavy knowledge and realization that Ranea is being put to task of finding a husband. She refuses to choose over and over again.
Finally, long after Kim and Ranea begun their romantic relationship the King decides to throw a tournament for her hand. Giving her no choice because she wants to be Queen too badly to give it all up for the sake of her love.
Shia, Ranea's cousin, however is a little too smart. The King left the planning to her and she worded it never specifying a man has to be the winner.
Leaving Kim free to participate even when all seemed lost. She trained for months, even got an enchanted necklace to make her look like her brother so the King wasn't left the wiser.
She battled her way through her opponents, up until the most talented and essentially Kim's early love rival. The battle was hard but she won in the end, winning out against him.
Everyone thinking Kim's twin brother (for some reason) was the winner, Ranea went to join "him" down on the battle field to reward "him" with a kiss and the medal of victory. None the wiser who truly fought for her hand that day.
Taking off her helmet she doesn't hesitate. Ripping off the necklace for all to see that it was actually Kim that was the true winner! And there was nothing the King could do about it, as her battles gained her the approval of the crowd. Even if she didn't have the approval of the crown. Trying to argue now would cause a riot as Kim made her own love story for the entertainment of the people.
Nothing felt as good as typing up that final post. The snapping of the thin chain of the necklace. The waving away of the illusion, leaving only the two lovers standing together in the middle of the ring. Kim's large smile of victory and Ranea's dawning realization of everything Kim had done that day. The fury of the King realizing he had been tricked and he couldn't stop them even if he tried. The loud applause of the crowd as they saw the truth of the love story play out before their eyes.
I absolutely loved that.
