Although perfectly hidden behind her skeletal mask, her facial expression which had originally been one of reverence when the Astartes approached her had quickly turned into a deep frown, and then into a scowl!

"Not like I'm to blame for this stealth mission blowing up... literally... it already did so the moment we fired our first bolter."

However, any reply that the Psyker may have thought of in her head was suddenly cut off as Aviza intervened between them, giving Nergui a rebuke that served to demonstrate every bit of the sister's affiliation with the Ecclesiarchy! Adrianne couldn't help but stand back and watch, nodding slightly.

As they later filtered into the bunker, Adrianne took a moment to walk beside Aviza.

"Hey, thanks for that, by the way." She said, offering a smile although hidden behind her helmet, before they entered the bunker.

Adrianne was used to being blamed for various things, though also to ignore it and walk without regrets, for arguing back was usually pointless, and sometimes even dangerous if it was some important imperial official. It was all a part of being a Psyker, after all.

*BOOM*

"WAAAAAAGHH!"

As the first buggy went up in flames in front of them, the greenskins let out a warcry in unison; seemingly being more excited by seeing the first buggy blown up than anything else!

One Ork warbike simply hit the gas instead, using some debris to the side like a ramp as he flew over the burning wreckage of the buggy, landing with a heavy crunch in the dirt, wheels spinning as he drove onwards.
Behind, a loud crashing sound could be heard as another warbuggy slammed into the burning wreckage with a crude, spiked plough affixed to the front of the vehicle, pushing it aside as it entered into the clearing before the bunker!

"DA 'UMIE GITZ ARE IN THE BUNKER, LET'S GET EM BOYS!"

The Ork mounted in the back of the buggy pulled the warbuggy's twin-linked dakkagun towards the bunker, letting out a mix between a roar and wild laughter as he opened full automatic fire; the bunker suddenly being sprayed by a wall of inaccurate but plentiful Ork dakka that was probably more dangerous to any Ork near the bunker than the occupants themselves!

The warbike in the meantime roared towards the bunker, the Ork riding it pulling out a satchel like object from the side of his warbike and started waving it about as he rapidly approached!

@HumanMusic
I mean, if the guardsman idea doesn't work out, you could always be a grim dark theologian :D

(I'm sure our resident SOB would approve ^^)
@Jbcool

The thing about 40K is that everything is just so extremely OP ^^

Just think about Space Marine Librarians donned in Terminator armor, Eldar Warp Spiders wielding power blades and combining their superhuman-reflexes with teleporting all over the place naruto style, or fallen Chaos Marines who enhance their already OP Astartes physiology to near demi-god levels with foul warp corruption and deamon gifts! xD

Or even yet, the Ultramarines!

@Eisenhorn I think your assessment is actually really close to my own :D

@Rithy

All I know is, right now, Herold is right buggered.

Your signature is a close bet on how he'd react (+ some 50 odd yrs) ^^

@Eisenhorn

Yeah, I always imagined the teleportation was quite fast (assuming she wasn't going any super long distances, as I always imagined distance would affect how much she'd have to channel)

Most of the powers she's been casting, Vortex of Doom, or an overchanneled Smite, has basically been been her aiming at stationary, large targets or groups of enemies in team battles; combined with her utter need to show off, meaning she most likely overdid it in those cases ^^
If she was fighting a single individual in a fast duel, I doubt she'd try to cast a Vortex of Doom, and instead rely on faster powers, like a simple smite, barrier or short teleport.

I don't think they mentioned it anywhere, but I always assumed there existed a variable casting time, and that the casting time of an ability correlated to its power and effect.

Hence a Vortex of Doom could take up to dozens of seconds to cast or more, possibly minutes if you wanted to make it truly big, whereas a smite or teleport spell of low or average power might be almost instantaneous :D

@Eisenhorn

That didn't make it any less amusing to read through, I'll admit I giggled more than a bit whilst reading Herold's part ^_^

Also, I'm not sure if you mentioned it, but Adrianne's a big fan of her teleportation ability, as part of her Telekinesis field, especially combining it with her sabre and preference for melee. Essentially you'd have a 7ft psyker armed with a giant power sword on top of you in a second from out of nowhere!

Granted, we haven't actually seen her use that ability much because she's mostly been sticking with the group and supporting, where teleporting and running off to slice people up might be counterproductive to teamplay xD
@Eisenhorn

:D I loved reading that little PvP geek out!

Also, as a side note, given Herold's evaluation, I can only imagine the assessment Estrus would have gotten if he had been included! xD
@Andromedai

Considering we just aggroed the horde, a redshirt(aka guardsman) is always useful ^^
@Eisenhorn

The latter option, of course :D

Though by rating each character, you kind'a gotta rate your own character as well! ^^
I came to wonder, if you guys were to rate each individual character in terms of power level, what scores would you give them? xD
