Friday Evening
A no name bar outside of Sol

The music was playing loudly inside of this scummy, rundown shack of a bar, everything about it was terrible, yet still there were lots of people and some nice cars hiding among the bikes and pickups. Milo had spent much of his Friday trying to figure out who was who and come up with a plan, and to be fair the one he had was not good nor safe, but he had a good feeling that it was going to work. Milo had found the man he was looking for, the owner of the bar, Titus Duvali, he didn't have any real evidence or any kind of information, but he did know that if there was anyone that would have more information on Nikki and his whereabouts, the guy that gets him drunk would be the guy. Milo sat in his truck outside the bar and lit a cigarette. "Welp, no time like the present." He got out of the cab and went around to the bed of the truck, he pulled out a few odd shaped bricks and carried them off with a bit of a mad grin.

Inside the bar, the sounds of clinking glass and pool balls were ever present, behind the bar was Titus managing the waitresses, and keeping them busy, as well as making any.. arrangements.. with his finer clientele, however the sound of a scream cut through the ambiance of the room as a young woman and a couple of older men all half dressed sprinted from the back of the building, "Fire!" they shouted. The flames though were not coming just from behind them, smoke and flame started to come from the ceiling as a white hot ball of flame breaks through the wooded ceiling. Panic overwhelmed the room, flames spreading quickly, explosions could be heard, cars outside of the building began to burn. Titus made his way out back to where his car had been, as he reached the door, the searing pain of a pistol grip rang against his head, as he looked up in the moment before passing out, "That worked, better than planned." he saw a face he recognized, Milo, that damn gunsmith, then darkness overtook him.

Milo sat in his shop and held his phone, he pulled up Paiges number and began typing I text, What has multiple counts of sex trafficking, narcotics with intent to sell, illegal firearms, and is tied up in my shop? He figured that would get her attention at least enough to see if she wanted nothing to do with it, but as he looked over at Titus, chained up to a steel chair, he had a plan to get the info out of him.

Milo laughed, "Don't worry, I will be eating something..." he took a sip of his drink before looking back, "...Once the rage settles." He smiled and listened to the story she had, ever since they became closer he began to envy her more, or was it just the scenario they were in that made him want the kind of power to do something like she could. The things that she ad been telling him were definitely not things he should know, despite how close to this he was, the police and the marshalls were much colder about it, and even worse, they have been watching, their gaze on him, while they are protecting him, he just wants to get out there and do something, anything.

Milo listened as she explained some of what she had learned but the thing that stuck in his mind was the name Nikki, Jackie had mentioned a friend named Nikki, a couple stories that he had from them running around, and if this was the guy that put out the hit, then that was the place to get to, "Nikki... Jackie mentioned him a few times, the two of them were buddies or something, told me of a few of their hangouts when they were slumming it up, sounded like a real prick, guess I wasn't far off the mark." Milo flagged down the waitress again, and ordered some weird sandwich he could hardly pronounce, didn't matter, he wasn't too picky at this point. "They had a couple joints, rough spots, but Jackie said they were out of the eye of law enforcement, made it easier to do a few things worse than a line." Milo took the sandwich when it got there and took a bite, before finishing, "Of course I could help get things done, if miss G.I. Jane doesn't mind a civvy getting under foot." he joked.

Final Round Armory
Wednesday Afternoon

"Yeah I want to have it be that big." A wide eyed nerdy kid asked as he frantically pointed at a picture of some fantasy sword from an anime Milo had never seen. This sort of thing happened at least once a month, someone comes in with only a vague idea of what he actually does and tries to get him to build some kind of monstrosity for convention or something. "I don't want it to be too heavy though, I have to carry it all day, the Con is in like two and a half weeks is that enough time?" Milo had his arms crossed and a scowl on his face that could peel paint, he was tired and didn't have the time for this.

"I can make that sword, in that time, but it will be heavy, you won't be able to take it to a 'Con', and it is going to cost more than your allowance kid, so please, get the hell out of my shop." Milo sighed as the kid huffed and puffed, threatened a bad internet review and stormed out. Milo merely shook his head and got out his current pet project, a rifle, he had originally thought he would never do this again, but after everything that happened, after what Jackie and his boys tried to do, he wasn't going to let this go. Paige was already back on the trail, but Milo knew that there are only so many avenues she can take, and maybe, just maybe, he could do the rest.

Milo looked at his phone, he had a couple messages, a couple from clients, and a couple from Paige and Ana, ever since Paige was in the hospital and they all cleared things up, Ana had been talking to him again, though now they are just friends again, best he could hope for. Milo decided that he couldn't stand being in the shop anymore, he had basically done nothing but work for days, especially since he began the process of getting all of his proper licensing. He grabbed a coat and shoved his hand cannon into a rib holster and left, a habit he got into recently. He headed out to a nearby bistro, the text from Paige implied she wanted to talk about everything in person, so he headed out.

As Milo arrived at the restaurant, he sat down across from Paige and sighed as he sat, "I hope your job has been a fulfilling as mine today." Milo waved to the waitress and put in a drink order. "So, how did your meeting go." he said with a slight grin, hoping for an interesting story.

Profession: Milo is an old world Blacksmith by trade, he works out of a small workshop that he owns and lives in The Old Harbor part of the city.

Bio/Personality: As a child, Milo was entrenched in the world of iron. His family, living in a large steel producing city, were all part of the industry and so he was constantly exposed to the sights, but he chose to take a different approach, he chose to be a Blacksmith. Fantasizing about knights in armor, warriors clashing swords, he began to forge blades, and soon he began to use them. Milo soon began making a name for himself in his city on the tournament circuit, and with every win, new customers followed after seeing his own blades used in competition. This was surely the life he wanted and the one he was going to lead, all until he was involved in a car accident. With his leg badly damaged there was little hope of competition, but he could still practice and fight to an extent, the doctors all gave him hope that maybe someday, maybe he could compete.
Milo soon fell into a deep depression and began to drink heavily, but soon he was given a gift, a small workshop on the dockside of Sol city, his dream home, a new beginning, and maybe and solid chance to come back from his injury, a chance to make his name relevant again.

Milo tends to be a stubborn mule when it comes to most things, however, when he has been drinking you can get him to bend with a smile and a kind word, though be prepared for payback for taking advantage of him when he sobers up. Milo is very competitive and will fight to the bitter end with no sign of quitting even when he starts losing, now made more intense ever since pulling out of his depression, now that state is the fire that drives him.

Milo in Chapter One:
Milo began chapter one a couple months after opening his ironworks, the final round armory, he quickly found himself in a whirlwind romance with Miss Victoria Romus, one that was ill fated from the start. his time in Sol quickly started to become sour as Paige Kennedy arrived in town, their previous rivalry causing the two of them to butt heads from time to time until the knowledge that Milo had dug himself deeper into a mess with a mafia family caused him to accept the help of his old friend. As the two planned the capture of Jackie Costa, Milo began to remember why they had been friends in the first place, and without his ex there between them, could see even more.
Following the triumphant capture, Milo found a sense of freedom, and a strong pull towards Paige, they both seemed to feel it, however it wouldn't be until a hitman attempts to take Paige's life that either one would begin to show it, Milo stayed with Paige in the hospital, and through an accident, managed to finally cut his ties to the past that still held him down.
Following Paige's recovery and return to work, Milo plans to get his business back in order, possibly become a licensed gunsmith, however he won't forget what Jackie and his people did, and he won't be allowing it a second time.

Milo Ventri & Ana Harlow

Milo had returned after a bit, passing Siobhan in the hallway as she left. When he returned to the room Paige was already asleep, the medication seemed to have done it's job and gotten through the pain, he sat down where he had been before. He leaned back and sighed as he looked over at Paige, he reached out and took her hand in his, "I really am sorry about all of this." He muttered know she likely couldn't hear him anyway. The sun was just starting to peek over the horizon at this point only prompting him to remember that he hadn't yet slept, he figured that he should probably go home but couldn't bring himself to leave her alone. He sat there with her hand in his as his eyes drifted and sleep took him.

He thought of what he should do, what he had done, thoughts of what must be done, there were few things that he knew that he wanted and this time he was sure that what he wanted was more time, more time spent with her, when she wakes he would tell her, whether she takes it well or not, would be seen but it wasn't hard to see that they were getting close, and hopefully, she feels the same. His thoughts were disrupted by the sound of a ringtone, it wasn't his, it was Paige's phone, Milo grabbed the phone and answered, figuring that Paige was in no condition to speak and if they were important, they would want to know.

The voice that came across as soon as he picked up was familiar, one that he hadn't heard in some time, "Hey Paige, I bet I know it is pretty early but I had to call, I was talking to a friend of mine out in Sol, she said she saw Milo at the gym. Have you seen him or have you been too busy still?" Her voice was happy and content as always, but why did she care if Paige had seen him? Was she wanting to see if he was still an ass or was she looking to gloat? After all this time, he had wanted to hear her again, now, all he wanted to do was hang up and forget he ever heard her.

He took a breath, "Ana, It's me." The words hurt to even speak, and the silence after was worse. Ana soon came back on, "Milo, where is Paige?" Milo looked down, Paige still asleep, "She got hurt Ana, we are at the hospital, she is sleeping." Milo could almost not breathe, the conversation was a lot on him. "Are you okay?" She asked, Milo almost jumped at the question, "I'm fine, Paige was the only one hurt, she will be fine though, nothing too bad." the audible sigh from the other side of the line was reassuring, "Milo... are you ok?" the question was weighted, he knew it, Ana knew more than anyone when he and Paige were hiding something, Milo stood and walked out into the hall, "Ana, I don't know what to tell you, apologies wore thin and I don't think it matters now, but..." Ana cut him off before he rambled, "Milo, how long have you and Paige been together?" Milo just looked at the ground, "We aren't together, not exactly, she helped me out of a spot and I took her out, we were just trying to be friends again." Milo waited for the response, "Just take care of her Milo, don't let anyone hurt her." Milo couldn't comprehend what was said, "What do you mean?" Ana could be heard chuckling a bit, "Damnit Milo, use your head less, it was never your strong suit, You aren't coming back, and I am not going there, if you two can be happy and safe together, just don't be an ass." Milo grinned, as she chuckled again, "Obviously she must like you anyway, otherwise she would have told me she saw you, I thought you had died on the road somewhere." Milo couldn't help but grin, she had thought about him, "Not yet, not yet."

Milo sat down next to Paige, a hard an uncomfortable hospital chair, the events of the evening finally starting to catch up. he was tired, he had worked extra hours to try and get his projects done and now it was late. The sounds of the monitors and Paige seemingly dozing a bit just made him more painfully aware of how tired he was, but he wasn't going to sleep for as long as he could, as long as there was a need for him, he was going to be there, he had to, this was his fault, his problem, his mistake. What could he even do, everything he could think of only ends with him dead or in jail, kick in a courtroom door and blow Jackie away, hunt down his employers, it was all impossible for him. Milo watched all the people outside, for a moment, the idea of becoming a cop or something ran through his mind, but he probably needed other skills for that, an angry guy with a gun doesn't make the best officer.

Siobhan sprinted into the room, she looked panicked worse than he did probably, a story behind that expression for sure. She started to make comments that started to piece things together for him, this girl wasn't a cop, just some girl, Milo's expression began to grow dark when she asked about hunting someone down, "Sio, there isn't going to be any hunting." Milo nearly choked on the words his visible disgust of letting it go glaring bright, Sio already knew too much about his problems, and now understanding that she isn't even a cop only makes him feel worse, if she started to look into this, if she got targeted, she wouldn't be a lucky as Paige, then an innocent girl would have been killed because of his stupidity. "A guy from her previous case must have sent out a hit, tried to strangle her, but she shot him." Milo's voice was subdued, "I... I'm gonna be right back. Keep her company for a bit." he said looking to Sio, he turned to Paige, "I'll be just outside." He stood and grabbed his coat, before leaving the two of them.

Milo stepped outside into the night air, Milo pulled out a pack of cigarettes, he took one out and tried to light it but his hands were shaking and he couldn't strike the lighter. After a few moments of trying he managed to strike it and lit the cigarette, a couple draws and he sat on a cold bench. He wanted to go back, before he had ever messed things up, maybe then he wouldn't be in this mess, and Paige would be fine... But then they would never have gotten this close, she would have been transferred still and he would be in Delta, how could something good like the time spent with Paige only been bought through his mistakes? Was it worth it, should he have just let her do her thing? That stubborn woman would have found a way to get attacked eventually though. Milo laughed a bit thinking about Paige managing to piss of some other crime boss just fine without his help, but it didn't last. He stood and flicked the filter away, he wasn't going to let go, not again, his mistakes bought this, and he wanted to make it worth it.

As much as I hate to say it, I have to bow out, some personal matters at home have come up and have been killing my response time and my creativity, I'm really sorry but I hope this continues and does well.

Milo kept pace as the stretcher was moved quickly down the hospital hallway, they kept talking to Paige and trying to tell him things but he wasn't doing well at paying attention to any of it, his thoughts were just to how he was actually going to help Paige, what could he even do? He was no police officer, he had no authority, no resources, anything that he did would be under the same scrutiny as anything that Jackie could do. What woke him from this contemplation was the sound of Paige asking him to call her friend, that girl from before, Siobhan. Milo nodded and walked out of the room as the nurse started to ask her questions. Milo took the phone and found Siobhan's number, dialed and waited, no answer, just her voicemail. "Siobhan, it's Milo, Paige was attacked and is in the hospital, she asked me to call and let you know where she was, second floor, room twelve." and he hung up having delivered the message. Milo went back in and set Paige's phone back down, "I let her know but she didn't answer, just left a message." Milo waited until the nurse left, "I'm sorry Paige, I guess it was naive of me to think it was gonna be over." He shook his head, "I will figure something out, something to keep this from happening again."

Jenramo Ventri

Jenramo looked to Jing as he spoke to him, "Perhaps some day one of the blows will kill me, but it wasn't today." he grinned at his old friend, "I'll be careful, you'd be lost without a decent smith." He chuckled as he spoke, but soon the laughter halted as they spoke of what to do next. A patriarch of the snakemen, while it wasn't their concern Jenramo was already feeling quite resolute about the whole situation, his whole goal was to slay the powerful beasts and rid this world of that pain. Jenramo held his head high as he spoke, "A grand foe will always meet a grand end, I will press on as long as it takes,"

Jenramo could tell that the others in the group were of a like mind, none here would say to back away and allow such beast to roam freely among the living, they were the sort to put forth that kind of kindness, even the mages, he sometimes felt as though he were too harsh on them, too distant, most of them seemed fine, but he could never tell, still, a level of trust had to be maintained, and that it would.
