The Blessing of a Curse

The various countries' militaries have been known to do a variety of illegal and inhumane activities. The world eventually finds out about most of them, but who knows what could be happening right now? Who knows what secrets are hidden from the general public?

This roleplay goes through the possibilities of one of these labs.

Hidden deep in the Appalachian mountains, there's a secret, hidden entrance disguised as a storage shed. Many miles below ground, there is a laboratory where the US military is holding their experiments on making super-soldiers. The oldest of these kids are only 16. How will these experiments go? What will happen to the failed experiments?

The wider apart the powers are, the weaker each one will be. Those with only a single power will be stronger with that power than others but will not have as many solutions to most problems.)

Mark smiled softly as the words of the newcomer. He didn't notice it at first but could definitely sense a sweet after-taste through his mouth once Jessica had said something. The girl was blushing while trying to proclaim she was a bad guy? He quickly used his Stride to get behind Erin.

"I suggest you turn your epithet off, Erin. It doesn't seem fit for combat. We can get you back to the beach if you stick with us."

He didn't truly know if Erin was using an epithet or not but the clues were there. With that, he began motioning the girls towards the beach, watching Jessica and Erin closely. He thought he could trust Penny, at least for now, and wasn't worried about her since he understood at least the basics of her epithet.

Mark watched as the girls rescued the child, keeping his senses open. He found it very annoying every time someone brought up his uncanny appearance of Jensen Ackles. He didn't like Jessica already and she wasn't going to make it easier to like her. "Let's just get the girl to safety." he sighed, glaring at Jessica.

He noticed the little people Penny summoned with her Epithet and how she worked them. He found it interesting. That's actually kinda cool, he thought to himself.

"Stride." he frowned at Penny. "My Epithet is Stride. It's a movement Epithet, not usually meant for outright combat. Giant bugs, though, shouldn't be too hard if you can find me a big stick to use as a weapon."

He was being modest, though it didn't sound like it, and he knew it. He loved his speed. He already knew how to fight with it.

With the girls behind him, he took point and began heading back towards the beach. "Leaving your find?" he asked Penny, motioning towards the bubblegum machine.

Alchemist Warriors Unite!

The supernatural alloy produced by gathering the essence of alchemy is the Kakugane. This device activates upon a person's fighting instinct, manifesting the possessor's inner power into a tangible form, creating a weapon like no other. Its name: Buso Renkin.

Buso Renkin

This will be a story happening approx. 100 years before the manga and anime. There's been a war for the past decade between the Alchemist Warriors and the Homunculi. Which side are you on?

Required Knowledge

Homunculi - Beings created by alchemy. Although the bases may be different, most of them have similar powers, including being able to hide as a normal human. If you choose a homunculus character, you will need to choose a theme. (ex. Moonface, Dr. Butterfly, Papillon...) There are 2 types of Homunculi: Animal and Humanoid. Animal homunculi are animals who were given a homunculus embryo. Humanoid homunculi used to be humans but have turned into homunculi with an embryo.

Kakugane - An alchemical tool that turns into a unique weapon based on the wielder. Only available for Alchemist Warriors or Humanoid Homunculi.

Alchemist Warriors - A secret organization that kills and traps homunculi to keep the unknowing public safe.
