Hm... think I'll write up a support mage with somewhat limited offensive capability.
...Why did it have to be a little brat? Kazumi thought with increasing despair. Where did that haughty attitude come from? Was she so oblivious to the possibility of danger in the world? With a personality like that, this girl had no business wandering the streets at night.
With a disgruntled sigh, Kazumi quickly followed after her, "hey, wait right there!"

The older woman had closed the small distance between them, and gave the child a rather disapproving glare from behind her glasses, "yes, you are going home! I don't care if you're trying to run away or something, but walking around by yourself like this is a pretty dumb idea, you know!"
Magical Girls in space is a thing I find myself interested in. Like Wish Upon the Pleiades, except with more Nanoha.
"Ah, sorry!"

Kazumi hadn't realised how little attention she had given the surroundings, bumping into someone that she had completely failed to detect. Thankfully, they seemed to be okay. Probably. That stare was strangely unnerving, and Kazumi felt uneasy as she returned the gaze. For a little girl, she was strangely intense. Why was this child out so late, anyway?

One awkward silence later, the girl finally turned away, and spoke in a... arrogant manner? Kazumi was taken-aback by her statement. Kazumi was definitely at way less risk of danger! ...Not that Kazumi was a master of self-defense or anything, but she was less likely to be targeted by random people. This could was either ridiculously bratty, or had no idea how dangerous it could be to walk around at night, even if it was the safest country in the universe.

"...I think that's my line," Kazumi finally replied, recovering from her surprise, "why are you out this late? If you live nearby, you should go home. I'll even walk you."
After all, at this rate, Kazumi wasn't getting to her own home any time soon.
"...No problem," was Kazumi's simple reply to the shy girl as she disappeared into her home. The older woman's smile receded slightly as she turned and walked onward, finally rerouted back home. Today had been quite adventurous, all things considered, helping a... unique stranger out like that. Although, if that girl really had so much trouble with others, her parents really should accompany her. How old was Shiori, anyway?

Well, that didn't exactly matter now. Kazumi doubted they'd be seeing each other any time soon, and that girl was most likely pretty reclusive anyway. Bit of a shame, but there wasn't much Kazumi could do about that. She wasn't exactly a therapist. Still, she made a good template for her blog...

Oh, right. Kazumi produced her phone from her pocket, and a couple of taps later, was skimming through her blogs' comments again. There was only a few new ones since last time, and all typical. Well, there was one that she couldn't really make sense of. Getting too cocky? Was that directed towards herself? It didn't seem to be a reply for anyone else...
The blogger worried that this person might actually know her identity. That didn't seem likely, it wasn't like she ever flaunted the blog as her own. Hell, she ignored it as much as possible while at college! It had to just be random nonsense...

Sighing heavily, the phone was pocketed once more, as Kazumi walked home.
I'm very sorry you hear that. Kazumi will remain on the characters list regardless in case things get better.

Well, the damage doesn't seem to be as severe as I'd thought, at least, so I won't have to drop out.
Won't be able to do this after all.
Stuff's happened, won't be able to focus on this. Sorry.
Hm... Cowardly ranger/monster hunter or inept mage..
Kazumi watched as Shiori seemed to struggle to answer her question, once more swinging between "adorable" and "pitiable" with her attempts. Maybe it would be better to stay silent after all, if it was causing her so much trouble...

Eventually, though, the shy girl finally showed the cover of the book, and Kazumi leaned closer slightly, not quite sure what to make of it. Was it a magical (cat)girl story? A warrior that happened to love cats? Kazumi couldn't even tell what age group it was for.

"...Looks interesting," Kazumi finally replied, figuring she should try and avoid making Shiori feel self-conscious about her choice of literature, "maybe I should read it sometime?"

Soon after, Shiori stopped, the blogger pausing along with her. It looked like they'd arrived at last. Turning her gaze towards the house, it struck Kazumi as... bleak. Granted, her own lodgings were not much different, but it at least looked a little more inviting. Now she couldn't help but wonder if this girl had some sort of reliable income. But she'd probably intruded enough as it is...

"So we're here, huh? Guess you can finally be rid of me!" she said brightly, and smiled at Shiori once more, "again, sorry for bothering you, Nakano-chan."
