My interest can be short lived. Slow moving stories do not last long with me.

I read, will be replying in a few hours.

Astrid was just having banter with Sirius by the way, she wasn't insulting him.
Okie doke.
And replied.
ASTRID

It wasn’t rudeness, but a desperate hunger that made her a little anti-social. She smiled as the brunette was introduced, but quickly turned back to Dumbledore and urged him to get on with his speech. But the man delayed, and she swore under her breath which gained her a shove in the ribs from Lily, to which she scowled. In the delay of Dumbledore, someone quickly piped up and asked the new girl if the rumours of France were true. Astrid turned her head, and a little sympathy was shown in her eyes. Her father was an Auror; she knew all of what had happened over in France, her own dad having headed over there to help defeat the faction that had formed. But when she saw the French girl come uncomfortable and almost a little defeatist, she had to raise a brow.

There was no need to take shame in the actions of others, but then again, Astrid was a lot thicker skinned than most. She had been raised in a male dominated environment, and generally got on better with males then she did females, so she wasn’t so easily affected as some. Having grown up with Erik it was best not to show any emotion, he would have threatened to beat every kid in the school up if she’d gotten upset at something. Lily had always scorned her for not being a little more empathetic towards offers, and so for once she held back her natural reply, and instead leaned across towards the fifth year students. “You know” She said to him. “A lad with your IQ really should have a low voice too” she told him with a wicked smile, her words quickly followed by laughter. Astrid straightened up and looked to Veronica, offered a friendlier smile with a wink, before turning back to Dumbledore.

But as she turned she caught Sirius’s eye and once more offered a wry expression. “Cool your loins, Black. The girls not been here five minutes” Astrid said to him. Although, she found herself a little off inside. Astrid had seen Sirius move from girl to girl, he’d left broken hearts all over this school. He had tried it on with her, many a time, but she did not want to be just another conquest. But she would have been a liar if she said she did not fancy him. He was the one reason why she hadn’t been able to maintain a steady relationship whilst at school, because no matter how good they were to her, they just weren’t Sirius.

She sighed and listened to Dumbledore announce that Quidditch this year was cancelled, which was received with outrage from the student body, but that instead it was to be replaced with the Triwizard tournament. Astrid’s eyes rounded before she cheered with the rest, excited about the break from the mundane. “I heard some of those Durmstrang lads are hot!” Astrid said to Flora, who giggled and nodded. As she laughed and settled down, once more she caught the gaze of Sirius, before she looked to the food that appeared, her mind consumed with thoughts of one of her closest male friends.

REMUS

When the cancelling of Quidditch was announced, James flew into a rage, his empty goblet clanging to the floor. “My record!” He stormed, and Remus placed a hand on his shoulder and forced him back down with surprising strength. “You’re head boy” Remus replied, pushing the sleeves of his robes up.

“I don’t give a shit!” James spat, before Lily turned to him and narrowed her eyes a little. But James was in too much of a sour mood, even when the tournament was announced. Even when the food arrived, James was still fuming about the Quidditch that he stabbed too hard at the sausage on his plate and it went flying off the floor. Remus caught it with reflexes that were unnaturally fast and placed it on the bench, his own mind now consumed with thoughts of the tournament.

To be a champion, to be anything but that poor one who hung around with Potter and Black, and the werewolf who had to rely on a potion for normality. He definitely had the brains, only slightly more intelligent than the other two. But did he have the confidence and self-belief? No he did not.

“Will you go for it?” Peter asked James.

“No out of sheer protest!” James scowled.

“What about you?” Peter asked to Sirius.

But Remus was once more lost in thought as his minded off to eternal glory, that massive sack of gold, the fame and popularity amongst the girls. His eyes once more swept to the new girl who was getting all the attention, and their eyes locked briefly, and a lopsided smile was offered, a hint to his cheeky nature in his eyes before he looked back down.“I am going to go for it!” Remus declared to his group, and this was where James now pulled himself from his Quidditch sulk.

“Do you think that is a good idea, Moony?” He asked him, caution in his eyes.

“Yes, you’ve never turned down a bit of chaos” Remus replied.

“Fair one” James said with a nod. “Maybe I’ll put my name in too” He said, his eyes flicking to Lily briefly.

Within minutes the four had all said they were going to put their names in for the tournament, all agreeing they’d support the winner without bitterness. It certainly picked up his mood and soon Remus was lost in a romp of jokes and banter with his friends, even joining in with the Gryffindor girls at times. Whilst Lily was going through everything and anything with Veronica, Astrid and Flora were swapping banter back and forth, and the opening feast ended in incredibly high spirits and with incredibly full tummies.

James was called to leave to show the new children where to go, and Lily paused for a moment. She was on the verge of asking one of her friends to escort Veronica, but Astrid was already pulled to one side by Sirius, and the other girls were lost in a fit of giggles about something.

“Remus, would you show Veronica up to the tower? I don’t want to drag her about the castle” She said and Remus nodded a crooked smile beneath his scruffy hair.

“Not a problem” Remus nodded, feeling a little nervous but trying not to show a lack of confidence or charisma, copying the way Sirius acted around girls. “So, how are you feeling?”
Righto. I'll see what I can do.
Nothing wrong with a long opener. Posts inevitably get shorter, especially with interaction etc.

I shall work on a reply shortly. Just in the middle of wrapping gifts, but it's getting very boring lol. I've also got washing up to do and tidying to do.
Lushness. I shall go read.
I tend not to be active at weekends, as I reserve them for family time.
Okay.

I wont be active tomorrow or again until Sunday evening, just to let you know.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
