Trying to get back into the swing of things (for a 2nd time!)
Bio
Hi there I'm Rultaos, or simply Rult as some of my friends call me. I first got into RP'ing on two different sites back when I was in High School. The forums of the games Minecraft and Spiral Knights. Both had game-related RP's, as well as off-topic ones regarding fantasy and sci-fi. This was around 3-4 years ago. I wasn't really good at it back then, but I met a lot of great people and feel like I really improved since then.
For any of you who are curious, this was one of my biggest RP undertakings before I got into this site (My username also comes from this as a tribute to it!). It's not really a very well-written roleplay (or a very well-managed one for that matter). But it really meant a lot to me because of how far it went, how long it survived, and how it inspired my fellow players there. It always fills me with a sense of nostalgia whenever I glance at it in my bookmarks...
I got into RPGuild back when it was still using the old server (the one that got taken down after Mahz got behind on his pay and the providers ended their service without warning). I was pretty bummed when this happened because I was already actively participating in a number of roleplays, and I could only stay in contact with a select few guildmates on the Facebook group. Eventually, the long wait was over, and the site was given renewed life after a few bumps in the road that guildmaster Mahz faced in his attempts to resurrect this place. It was a good day for many including myself when this site slowly started getting more and more features.
2014 was my second year in college and was a very stressful time for me. Mostly concerning academics, with a few occasional problems regarding friends and fellow students alike. Because of this, I had to suddenly drop out of roleplaying for a while in order to have the time to get my real life back in order.
Now, I've returned to the site, and am hoping to get back into the groove of roleplaying and make more great friends and have even greater adventures through whatever huge universe your brilliant minds can think of! If you wanna invite me to play, or even just have a friendly chat about anything, send a message my way and I'll reply as soon as I can =)
For those of you who are wondering, my roleplay interests include: Sci-Fi, Military, sometimes Fantasy, a Fandom one if I'm familiar with the source material, heck I'd be willing to dabble in an Apocalypse setting as well. I'm also willing to try new things as well if it seems fascinating enough. So hit me up with an idea any time and I'd be happy to share my thoughts with you.
Well, I feel like I've used up enough for your time. Thanks for caring enough to read all this, and I hope you enjoy your roleplay adventures as much as I have in the past and the present ^_^
I've only ever been a co-GM twice before so I'm still pretty new to the whole thing. But thanks for the warm greeting fellas. I hope I can contribute a lot to this RP =)
@Diabolic Ah I see. Well again, just poke around the internet and see what you can find. Since this is an alternate-timeline thing for Star Wars, the info doesn't have to be perfect down to the last word. We have some degree of creative liberty. And besides, if you do make a mistake, it's easily corrected with someone saying so, and the press of the edit button
In addition, surprise is a major part of killing force users, I figure, so most targets, even if they can use the technique, may be caught unawares enough to be vulnerable.
Being caught off-guard is the very reason Order 66 was successful in execution
Ive seen all star wars movies, played a handful of the games. And seen a little of the shows, however my knowledge is not too great on the whole. SO if anything on my CS makes no sense, please fill me in. I am reading more into events in star wars that happened at X time so I Ccan make a good HISTORY section of my CS so mu cjaracter isn't boring as hell, however it is a challenge since my star wars knowledge is horrible. To a degree.
Don't worry too much man. MY knowledge is based off of the same things yours is. Movies, some TV shows (particularly the clone wars animations, the original cartoon and the 3d) and a handful of the games. How I make up for it is to check out anything unclear in Wookiepedia. If there's some info about something in particular that you're looking for, a quick search there is usually enough =)
”Why don’t you try shooting the enemy instead of just spotting them?” – Fellow clone commando regarding Spotter’s behavior during their first combat simulation exercise
Name: RC-4129 “Spotter”/”29”
Age: Accelerated aging has made his age ambiguous, though he looks to be in his late thirties
Resembles every other Clone in the GAR. Though he is bald. His armor is plain white, but has a red "third-eye" marking on the forehead of the helmet
Mental Description: Trained with his squad from his days as a child on Kamino, Spotter has a strong bond with them. He is willing to put himself in the line of fire for his squad, but he also believes them to be capable enough to complete their duties. Excelling in psychological analysis during his training years, Spotter is able to predict the behavior of both allies and enemies, and often takes that into account for his next move. As a Commando, he is hardwired to follow orders to the letter, and often will not care for the loss of allies as long as it helps get the mission done. However, he is also granted a mind slightly more independent than other Commandos to allow for advanced tactics on the battlefield. It is only when his squad is on the line that he begins to question commands. But like every clone, his loyalty to the Republic comes before any personal agendas.
History: Born and raised on Kamino, his role in the GAR was decided for him as he began commando training at an early age. He gained mediocre marks on many technical and combat exercises, and for a while they were unable to find anything special about him, other than an above average ability for psychological analysis. It was during his combat simulation training that he shined. He showed exceptional skill in locating enemy targets and points of interest. They tested him further, and very few objects managed to escape his heightened awareness. He excelled even further when put in charge of his squad for the simulations. His skills in psychological analysis were honed, and he managed to both predict and counter several tactics thrown against his squad. His ability to spot both physical targets and enemy battle tactics earned him the nickname: “Spotter”.
His and his squad’s first taste of battle, like many other clones, was the bloodbath during the Battle of Geonosis, after being assigned into the Special Operations Brigade (as many other commandos). The confusion of the hastily ordered attack on the CIS planet resulted in many casualties, but through skill and much luck, Spotter’s team, Kappa Squad, managed to get off the planet alive while completing many (though not all) of their objectives. A few superiors took note of their squad’s ability to be able to formulate and execute new battleplans on the field as the situation changed, and they found themselves being sent into quite a few high-risk operations throughout the Clone Wars. They fought behind the scenes in the liberation of Ryloth, sabotaged CIS ships during the Battle of Kamino, and saw action on the dark moon of Umbara.
Umbara was one of their few toughest battles. Facing an enemy that they had little to no information about, and working with no support from the main invasion force and jammed communications, Kappa Squad had to take in and use new information during every second of a firefight. New hostile weaponry forced them into hiding into any corner they could find and re-evaluating their situation. Once they had a new plan, they would start moving again, until another unexpected element stood in their way. Eventually, they managed to succeed in destroying an ammunition and weapon supply base, and weakened the enemy’s overall firepower to give the GAR a better chance to assault the capital. They managed to emerge from the moon alive, though they were both physically and mentally bruised, battered, and battle-weary.
They had a few other close calls, but somehow, they would always manage to get every member of the squad back alive. Now they are being called into action on Coruscant as it comes under siege by the CIS army that has become more powerful than ever before.
”Don’t worry, we don’t need a clear signal with him around.” Name: RC-4211 “Signal” or “Sig”/”11”
Role: Field technician
Appearance: Crew-cut hairstyle and wears plain white commando armor with an antenna on the right side of the helmet.
Mental description: Unlike most of his clone brothers, Signal always attempts to befriend and find a peaceful solution when dealing with intelligent races. However, his calm and friendly demeanor shouldn’t fool you; Sig is fully capable of engaging multiple enemies in both ranged and hand-to-hand combat, with or without his squad. Even in the heat of a fight, he speaks calmly and always attempts to relieve the nerves of his allies. To his enemies however, he can kill with stone cold efficiency. Showing a natural affinity for handling technology from an early age, Sig often tinkers around with any piece of tech he finds as a past-time. This has proven to be a great advantage for the team whenever they required someone who had extensive technical know-how.
Skills: As mentioned before, Sig is skillful in handling all sorts of technological equipment, from comm-links to control terminals to weapon systems. Apart from being the tech-guy, his job is to keep the squad updated of new objectives from superiors, and to keep them in contact with each other if communications break down and they get separated. Despite his affinity for technology, Sig is a surprisingly formidable warrior in several forms of unarmed combat. Even without his weapons, he is capable of disarming and neutralizing hostiles with his bare hands, and has once managed to defeat the entire squad in hand-to-hand fighting during their training days.
“If you love being in the cockpit so much, why don’t you just live there?” Name: RC-4176 “Cockpit”/”76”
Role: Vehicle/Demolition Expert
Apearance: Hair is cut like a mohawk with no hair except going through the middle of his head. Wears plain white armor that seems to have a lot of oil stains in random parts. He also has a drawing of what appears to be a clone pilot’s oxygen pipe and tank running from the bottom of his helmet down to his chest (with the pipes leading up to the mouth part of his visor)
Mental description Cockpit was known as one of the more “adrenaline-fueled” clones. From an early age, he showed how at home he was in the driver seat of a vehicle. He has a love for fast and advanced starfighters and ground vehicles, even more so if they have an impressive arsenal of firepower. He is overconfident with his skills (though, he has good reason to be) and has a morbid sense of humor, often poking fun at enemies he kills (or he’s about to kill). He shows a very casual approach to death, and usually treats battles and firefights like fun games. However, he knows when things are dire enough to have to take seriously. Whenever he doesn’t have a grin, a laugh, or a joke being cracked in the middle of a fight, the squad knows it is a cause for concern.
Skills: Being the squad’s vehicle expert, Cockpit is familiar with, and capable of driving almost every vehicle and starfighter in the Republic and Separatist arsenal. He gained his nickname from being able to commandeer any vehicle he wished, regardless of whether it was currently occupied by hostiles or not. If faced with a vehicle he is unfamiliar with, Cockpit is known to quickly learn. On the ground, he is not very remarkable compared to other Clone Commandos. But in the driver’s seat, he can rival the skills of many pilots in the Grand Army. Aside from small vehicles, he is also knowledgeable in the inner workings of warships, and is often capable of guiding the squad through close-quarter missions inside Assault Ships. His vast knowledge of vehicles also makes him well-versed in the right places to damage when trying to destroy them.
“You act like you’re mechanical...” Name: RC-4231 “Mech”/”31”
Role: Sniper Support/ Medic
Appearance: Has crew-cut hair like most clones and his white armor lacks any distinguishing features other than a bacta canister symbol on his left shoulder (to denote him as a trained medic), and a sniper crosshair on the right.
Mental description: Mech could be classified as one of those “extremely-obedient” clones. He never questions orders from his superiors, and will follow them regardless of the level of threat he will be faced with. But most of the time, he gets it done anyway. True to his namesake, he acts like a robot whenever he tackles an assignment: Cold, obedient, calculative, and efficient. He is stoic, and very rarely speaks (usually only when he has to). His squad sometimes feels that Mech will abandon them if he was ordered to. However, Mech would much rather sacrifice himself than be forced to leave his squad behind. He may not always show it, but he cares deeply for them and honors the bond they have as brothers. His squad are the only people Mech would ever seriously consider disobeying orders for.
Skills: Mech has shown superior accuracy and better weapons handling when compared to his squad. His abilities in ranged warfare are impressive, and he has only ever been defeated in close-combat by Signal. His technical knowledge is in the field of weapons (where he is capable of identifying any kind of firearm and understanding how it works) and also droids (knowing the best place to shoot them to destroy them, and how to sabotage them). He also knows much about the anatomy of several species, and can use the knowledge for both healing and killing purposes.
On another note, I support the idea of having Anti-Force-user units being part of the GAR ranks. They could have been special units that were originally intended to be used during Order 66 but were repurposed by the new Republic government as anti-Sith measures.
Yeah I'm using my old character. Accidentally typoed "cold" there, haha. Anyway, here he is. Along with his squad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nariata, shall I post my character sheet here first and wait for approval? Because I don't know whether we should post in the character tab immediately or not. I plan on re-using my cold character(s) for this RP though.
It's because all of our characters are doing their own thing at the moment, when they meet up there will be less 'scenery' to describe and posts will get smaller.
^This^
It'll be more action and character interaction once we meet up. At the moment, we just let our creative juices run wild because there isn't another character there yet to keep us in check and make us stop for a moment to give them time to react. Once we've grouped up with each other, shorter posts with talking and team interaction will be more common than longer ones with independent actions and scenario drawing.
Will get to work on a post soon. The story really is interesting so far Laue (in the sense that I wish to know what happens next and what tiny hints of things allude to). My problem is time to get a post up in between my real life duties, and the creativity to actually write a post that isn't just simply "Vark saw this, then Vark did that, then this happened because of it"
I'll try to get a post up soon, but I can't give an exact time of when it will be (other than I'll try to make it happen before the next 2 days). And... I don't know how the school schedule in your countries work, but it's only been 2 months into the 2nd college semester for me where I come from.
