Yo Vampy, you may try resetting your tablet's wifi connection and see if that does anything. Usually with a wireless connection, it gets iffy after a while and needs to reset.

With her last song finished, Claudia bowed with a curtsey of her dress and a glowing smile upon her lips. The crowd cheered her on, tossing more coins into her hat and clapping their hands in rancorous applause. "Thank you! Ah, thank you good people of Coven!". She laughed stringing her lute over her shoulder. "You've been a lovely audience, and if you wish to hear more, please stop by the tavern tonight where I'll be playing. As for now, I bid you all a fond farewell and may the gods bless you!". And with that, Claudia gave another bow before picking up her hat and placing the gold she had made into her coin purse.

"Quite the killing I've made off these people.". She mused with a wry smirk. After the crowd had dispersed, she went along her merry way, but as she did so, she couldn't help but notice the strange fellow garbed in dirty brown rags skulking about. He was of a nefarious sort to her, perhaps a brigand she thought. Instinctively, her hand rested upon the hilt of her rapier as she looked at the man once then turned away, momentarily glancing over her shoulder.
Hope this is okay ^^;

Claudia sat at the edge of a large fountain in the midst of the city, quietly humming to herself and fiddling with the tuning knobs of her lute, searching for just the right sound. Twas a lovely day she thought. The sun's golden rays reflected off the rippling waters of the font, culminating in dazzling speckles of light dancing across the crystalline surface. In the open, children laughed and played while their parents were busy crowding the many market stalls and booths. From such booths, a delectable myriad of scents, fresh baked loaves of bread, exotic spices and herbs, savory, roasted meats and fish, and sweet strawberries and apples ripe from the orchard.

Such a lovely day indeed, and one that was perfect for music. Once she had found the right pitch she desired of her instrument, she cleared her throat and began to sing. Gracefully, her frail fingers danced across the strings of her lute, every note, every sound of her siren voice weaving a tapestry of a tale of brave heroes long past. Not long had a small crowd come to admire her work, some dropping coins into the floppy hat beside her feet. Each clink of the gold brought a smile to her face, yet Claudia resumed to play. Once she had finished her song, she stood and took a bow. The crowd applauded with thunderous joy. "One more!". They cried for.

"Ah, one more you say?" Jovially Claudia answered. "Why not!". And with a beaming grin, she took up her lute and played once more.

For Claudia, there is no better life than the life of a bard. Born into nobility, her future was looking bright. Her parents were both high ranking members of the royal court, rich landowners who had a farm in the green hills. However, as Claudia grew from childhood to adolescence, she grew bored of the noble life and yearned for a life of adventure. Extravagant parties, men coming to court her, flouncy dresses and gaudy jewelry, it was enough to drive her mad, and so one day, against her parents' wishes, she decided to leave.

Life on the street was difficult at first. She had no money at all and what little she could gather to eat were just dingy scraps of bread and moldy cheese. She had thought she had made a mistake running away, until one night in a tavern, she heard a bard playing his lute and singing a beautiful ballad. The way his voice entranced her and the crowd...it was like magic. She had never heard such a lovely sound as he plucked the strings and sang softly. When the man finished his performance, Claudia approached him. She wanted to learn how to play just like him, especially after seeing how much gold he made afterwards. Lucky for her, the bard was besmirched by her natural beauty and decided to take her on as an apprentice.

Over the years, Claudia traveled with the bard across the land. He taught her the many tricks of the trade, such as how to play the lute and sing in a way that captivated the crowd. The bard was also an adept swordsman and taught Claudia the finer points of handling a rapier, should the need for one arise.

Alas, her apprenticeship with the bard would not last forever. While Claudia merely saw him as her teacher and a dear friend, the bard had deeper, more lustful feelings toward her. One night, after he had drunken too much wine, the bard forced himself upon Claudia. Claudia fought back, and in a desperate bid, she ended up stabbing him through the gut with her rapier. The bard, realizing what he had done, begged Claudia's forgiveness before he died with a look of regret upon his face. Claudia, though traumatized by his sudden advance, managed to forgive the bard and grieved his loss. She buried him then resumed her travels alone.

Albeit saddened by the loss of her mentor, Claudia enjoys the life of a traveling songstress. There are always taverns full of strong drink and plenty of lovely barmaids to charm, as well as an audience willing to pay coin for a song or two, whether it be a sweeping epic of battles long fought or a beautiful sonnet of love and romance.

What's the difference between a bar of soap and a Jew?

The soap doesn't cry when you put it in the shower.
