Hello, there really isn't much to see here. :^D

In case you were wondering, yes, I drew my profile image. Do you like it? I think it has a depressing sort of beauty.

Disclaimer: I can sometimes be a little too honest, and my standards might be too high. People don't like that. But let it stand on record that I also view myself with the same light. I would not criticize others if I am not willing to take criticism myself. Be mature. Don't hold stupid grudges. If you've come here to scope me out, to find some shameful detail or quench some personal spite because my honesty upset you in some way, -- I'm sorry but there is nothing here for your desperate attempt at self-validation. I will settle the pettiness with an apology. Sorry. Happy?

I can't do anything more than that.

Sorry for the lack of activity from my part... I've been outside the house a lot lately so that's been that. Might I hold a short roll-call for people still here? I'd like to get a reply post whenever possible, so if I knew how many people still stand, that'd be great. :^D
I was just going to be from one of the existing worlds, like Hollow Bastion or one of the main connecting worlds.
.
Sorry, it kinda took long. I was hoping to have it up much quicker than this. I might had too much fun drawing the character and went overboard on the sketch, haha... I suppose I still need to add a short description because I'm too lazy to put colors.

EDIT: Or like anything in the magic tomb she is holding, for that matter... Didn't even notice that until just now. Whoops. XD

Name: Raily Nightshade
Age: 17
Gender: Female

Appearance: Raily is petite red-headed girl, standing barely at a modest 5"6 ft. A bright orange and red color scheme is a staple across her 'witch' attire. Her eyes are a glistening jade in color, with little dotted stars as her irises. Her pale skin is prone to turning blistering red when she is embarrassed, much to her dismay. Her faithful companion, Dapper, has a sleek black fur coat and wears an eyepatch in the shape of a pumpkin. The rest is pretty self-serving.

Weapon of Choice: Wand

Personality: Raily is an optimist at heart. She dreams of a future where everyone can be happy and never relents even when it seems hopeless. Since a very young age, she took upon the mantle of a 'hero' to help the weak, pushing past the pain that threatened to swallow her at the time. The young witch often endures ridicule because of her lack-luster abilities and clumsiness, but she tries her hardest to improve every day. No matter the pain, she will keep on smiling, knowing that things will get better. She can also be a little overbearing, always volunteering to do things outside her reach, or causing trouble unintentionally. But call for her, and she will always be there, with a smile as usual. Helping Raily in her daily life is her black cat, Dapper, though the latter more often-than-not is being forced along. The eye-patch wearing cat may be a little fussy, but she assures people that he is kind at heart.

Backstory: She was the daughter of a powerful family of wizards and witches. But that wasn't for very much of her life. Losing her parents and the rest of her kin was the first thing she can ever remember, and with their sacrifice, she has been carrying the burden for the rest of her life. Since then, she has vowed to stop the Empire, dedicating her life into learning and perfecting her magical talents. It has been a struggle for her, but with her best friends and faithful companion, Dapper, she has managed to achieved the honorary title of full-fledged 'Witch'. From that point on, she has been putting all her efforts into stopping the Empire wherever she is able.

Magical:
Cure - Recovery/Magical - Basic
Same as in game.
Hex - Debuff/Magical - Basic
This is my own little made-up magic, since you said this is free-form and we didn't have to copy directly from the games. It would work as something like a minor armor/speed reduction. Single target.
Aero - Magical/Non-Elemental - Basic
Same as in game.

Notes: Likes pumpkin pie.
I Was just checking, since I found this rp from the casual tab and not the INT tab, so I didn't know if there was already an army of people coming from there. Well, since that's the case, I'll be making my character now. :^D
I'm down. I'm a sucker for this universe, is there still any room? :^D
@kagethekiller Ah, Happy Birthday! Mine was just a few days ago, and I was gone for a bit too. Don't sweat it. Sometimes short and simple is better than an overly drawn out description.

And thanks @ERode, I figured I should put some extra love in my little project! :^D

I wish I can color it, to make everything more clear, since I don't think the bits of armor fused into their arms came through that well... (I'm just so bad at that though). But yeah, they are kinda like overgrown half-tree ghoul things, at least how I tried to describe them. I imagined these people sitting around for a very long time, bein' hopeless or whatever, so the plants and flora just kinda grew into their bodies.

Might get some priest people sketches in there, maybe our little 'Patches' feller. I just draw for fun, so yeah, thanks for appreciating it. Being around awesome people just fills me with inspiration. :^D
For those who care, I drew a few concepts of the 'Twisted Ones', at least how I envisioned them. I kinda use Roleplaying as a platform for inspiration when I doodle. Pretty rough, but I think it worked out fine enough...

@Zombehs "Thought you could outwit an onion?" :^D

@Jerkchicken And I was thinking it being known as a person's 'Expression' or 'Radiance', something like that. Sounds pretentious enough to work in this emo-ass setting.
Appearance:
Sorry if you hate messy B&W drawings, I was too lazy to color it. Maybe some day.

Name/Alias: Minev, the 'Tell-Tale Witch'
Age: 22
Race: Amali/Draelni
Kingdom of Origin: Border Town - Caraxis, Nomadic

Short Background:

Death was more common than life from where Minev came from. All of her memories, every single one of her motivations were driven by the very force. The name of her old home doesn't really matter. For it doesn't exist anymore, nor do the people whom she once belonged to. Everything along the mangled border was swallowed by the black mists that poured from the heart of darkness. The price of greed, as it were. Made alone in the world, Minev was left to die. It was a wonder why she was spared from annihilation. Perhaps even darkness would not take such an abomination. She did possess a so-called 'tainted' bloodline. Or it might've been another force at play. Wandering in the nothingness, an old family of crones found her and took the girl deep into the nearby swamps. There, deep in the marshlands their coven lay in secret, guarded from intruders by a veil of dark and twisted hexes. They saw something in the little orphan girl, a gift unlike any others. It was something they could not allow to go to waste. They would teach Minev dark arts, forbidden things so that she may learn to harness her gift. She would memorize of curses and rituals to call upon spirits, bending them to her will. In her quickness to learn the intricacies of the craft, they would shower her in presents, praise, and tender love.

For once, she felt at home in the world. It did not matter what they asked in return.

When she reached a proper age, they approached her with an important task, one only she can fulfill. In truth, these old witches worshiped a forgotten God, who harbored them for their curiosity. Though whether it still existed remained a mystery. Their goal of reaching this 'greater truth' branded them as monsters, for their means, derived from feverish dreams involving the deity, could easily be misunderstood as evil and wretched. And so they waited for something like her, to finally 'set them on their path'. She had the potential to transcending all they could never achieve, and to do so, they needed to push the girl to her limits and beyond. She would need to make a sacrifice, for them. Without hesitation, she accepted this task bestowed upon her. Minev went along with the painful rituals, laying still as they seared magic into her very flesh, allowing them to torture her in countless ways to bring forth her inner promise. This was for the people she loved and whom loved her back, she would think. They were her family. It was rightful to make 'sacrifices' for one's family, and so she endured it all to see their wishes come true. It was a long and grueling process that lasted long months, maybe even years. It was impossible to tell. She was frequently left battered, not a single ounce of strength left but to cry from the aching and pain. Her mothers whispered sweet things in her ear to sooth the suffering. and so through it all, her love and body did not waver. It didn't stop until she heard a 'voice' that emerged deep within her, one that belonged to neither imagination or reality. Maybe it was just her mind breaking.

It was hazy what happened after, but when Minev awoke, she was alone again. She would leave the sunken library in the swamp, bringing only the knowledge they engraved in her mind. The young woman had nothing to follow but the voice in her head. She soon came across a dying animal. One much like herself. Try as she did, Minev was unable to heal it and the poor thing laying dying in her arms. In her desperation, the Voice spoke to her, teaching her how to use her dormant gift. Listening to the instructions of the Voice, she touched the corpse to draw upon the trapped spirit, seeking to lure the soul as she has done so many times before. But the effect was far greater than she anticipated. It was effortless, how she pulled the essence from the body. Instead of the black swirling mass of a spirit who died in pain, this particular spirit was milky white, wholly pure and cleansed of any qualms. Was this her true potential? It was unlike any of the mindless apparitions conjured before too, possessing a free-will and thought all on its own. This one chose to follow her.

The pale crossbreed was overjoyed to have a friend, to not be alone. She no longer required a proper vessel to contain and dominate spirits anymore, as she would come to understand. With her newfound power, Minev set out with a new purpose. She would find others to take along on her journey to reach 'the beautiful place the voice spoke of'; a place without death, a place of peace.

Like a family, she protected them and they protected her. She felt happy once more.

In her search, Minev would eventually be drawn to Altamea, where she would conduct her studies and experiments along the borders. Though she wanted to go about peacefully, she would quickly earn 'fame' through her odd habits, garnering the attention of the neighboring country for her odd expertise in the supernatural. Apparently, it came about in her conflicting viewpoint, being featured in many wild stories passed along by travelers. Her unnatural resistance towards the corruption, tied with her odd appearance, made people think she was some sort of demonic entity that took root in the region. A common story was that a mysterious pale girl would appear to those who are suffering, truly desperate to die, and 'free' them by devour their soul. Others tell of how she consumes the souls of beasts and people alike, a monster among monsters. Often, her arrival would be marked by tell-tale signs and strange trinkets, such as wooden dolls and oddly shaped shadows. The issue became so great that a group of Paladins were sent to deal with the rising panic. When they discovered her true nature, they had an opportunity like no other. Her ability to commune and manipulate spirits of the dead is viewed as taboo, being as it violated some of the principle laws regarding magical conduct established by Voy and Crux Redentor. Such an offense is punishable by death. But instead of killing her then and there, they offered the witch an ultimatum. Minev would act as their representative for the upcoming Ascension, but in reality, her purpose was to infiltrate the Architects and relay their secrets. They were tired of going unanswered. But this was not a mercy, as it seemed, she would be treated like a tool, like a slave.

Urged by the voice in her head, she smiled and accepted.
