@KatherinWinterLooking down at the paper in her hand, she took several deep breaths to calm her nerves. The strange woman had jotted down the address to this so called orphanage of misfits in a hurry, so some of it was very hard to make out. Her eyes trailed back up to the building in front of her. Sadie had been keep watching for several days from the roof, watching as other children were being deposited at curb. It wasn't until they all filed into a van that she was able to catch sight of them all at once. They definitely had the feel of difference about them.
She had waited patiently for the group to return, not knowing if they would ever be back. Not having to wait long, the van arrived back a few hours later with the children carrying various shopping bags. The young fourteen year old had to laugh at her panic. She didn't know these people, wasn't a part of their group, and yet she was afraid they wouldn't return for her. Wouldn't be there to not make her feel so alone in the world.
Sadie waited until night fall to make her descent from the roof. She knew she had to wait until the next morning, when it wouldn't seem so odd or annoying for a random person to knock at the door. Looking over her ripped jeans and black tank top, she fixed her brown hair before venturing to the door. She raised her hand to knock and her breath hitched. Once more shaking away the nerves, her knuckles rapped against the wood of the door.
