Splitting isn't exactly the best plan to move forward. Not that the young Hellions seem to have a plan that isn't simply moving forward. Still, both Yeeks and fellow humans could be just around the corner.

Lyun moves deeper into the branching path, scouting just enough to continue holding the corridor with his frame. Heavy steps on the rough stone below, wordlessly announcing his arrival.

Lyun moves 4 tiles to 5-24, readying his hand axe for battle.

Lyun: "Agh..."

His wounds sting to say the least, no point in acting like they don't. Despite that, retreat hasn't yet entered the brute's mind. Still... There are choices to be made. He is not alone in those ruins, and not the only one looking to better himself through adversity.

And so, with a single step, Lyun opens himself up as a choice for the band's two theurgs: rush ahead and get some healing training or stay back where it is safer. The choice is theirs, and he isn't one to make it for them.

Lyun moves 1 tile to 9-24 and attacks Yeek Warrior #8 with his hand axe. He hits and deals 16 damage, killing it for 18 EXP.

Lyun: "You, other side."

The brute addresses Gesties, pointing to the east-bound corridor before moving towards the opposite one. His bloody hand axe at the ready, Lyun blocks off the passage in its entirety, hoping to prevent further unwanted surprises.

Lyun moves 6 tiles to 8-24.

The Hellions find themselves thrown off balance. Flanked, wounded and uncoordinated to top it off. It would require a bit more waiting to find out if, and how much, they would pay for it. Between the theurg's pained spiel pushing them to action and the red bastard's gaze warning them to stay put, Lyun defaulted to simple offense.

He runs ahead, positioning himself behind Siris as he tussles with the massive Yeek ahead. His battle axe sheathed, one hand goes to move the young Hellion out of the way while the other one lobs his hand axe straight for the Yeek's midsection.

Lyun moves 6 tiles to 10-28. He equips his hand axe and attacks Red Yeek, dealing 14 damage and killing it, gaining 52 EXP.

The sounds of battle, muffled as they may be by the walls between the two groups, urge everyone to get a move on. Lyun steps up to the wall, once again, gripping his axe with both hands.

Lyun moves 3 tiles to 6-30. He then attacks the crumbling wall with his battle axe, dealing 18 damage and gaining 1 EXP.

The brute stays silent during their descent, focusing instead on his senses, trying to ignore the sound of their own steps while taking in whatever else could be heard. While the dim lighting obscures the smallest details, it doesn't take an owl to notice the crumbling wall in front of them. Lyun steps right up to it, sparing no time.

Lyun attacks the crumbling wall with his battle axe, dealing 17 damage and gaining 1 EXP.

He keeps moving, choosing to mostly ignore his allies' banter as he walks past them and to the left. Taking a breather and mending one's wounds he understands, but standing idly by...

They would learn. Once is enough. One ambush, one death, one regret. All rookies learn, eventually, provided they don't become someone else's lesson.

Lyun moves six tiles to 20-11, just before the first branching hallway to the left.

The brute keeps walking without much pause after the earlier kill. He gives Etor a nod in passing, marking the end of their interaction. Encouragement without snark is a rare commodity in the world of mercenaries and, despite not being talkative, Lyun has never believed tough love to truly work. The kid did his part and that is plenty.

Despite his companions easing up as most creatures lay in a pool of their own blood, he remains focused. His faster allies probably won't need his help. With nothing else going on, however, "probably" isn't good enough for him.

Lyun moves six tiles to 24-13, just past the pile of Yeek corpses.

He keeps running, trying to catch up to the action but also slowly being left behind. Cleanup isn't a role the man feels comfortable being thrust on him, but no other choice is presenting itself at the moment.

Lyun: "...-ood job." A couple quiet words can be heard as he stomps his way past Etor on that stairway, occupying a good portion of it with his bigger frame. One swing of his battleaxe is more than enough to kill the Yeek, who is fortunately more focused on the younger warrior in front of him.

Lyun moves five tiles to 25-19. He then attacks Yeek Warrior #6 with his battleaxe and hits for 18 damage, killing it.

Lyun: "..." There's not much to mull over at the moment, his allies are all ahead of him in their assault to the ziggurat and he can't help anyone until he catches up.

Lyun moves six tiles to 23-23.
