Current Wow three years since an update....well - I guess I've been busy. Finally getting back into real story writing instead of just editing and submitting old stuff.

Bio

I'm an adult with a family and responsibilities that take priority, as well as mental health issues that can cause me to not get on this site for periods of time. Just know I will get back to you - hopefully within a few days. Right now my schedule is in flux until I get everything figured out properly so I cannot make promises to respond quickly.

If you've come here looking to RP, please note right now I'm not accepting any new projects. Thanks for the interest, and I wish you luck on your quest.

I recently started working on getting published, and have self published one story so far. Check it out on Amazon - Into the Night by Alexia Wynd. You can also check out more of my work - short stories and the like - at my recently started Patreon: patreon.com/storiestocaptivate

The sprawling grounds of Anepool Academy for the Gifted lay just beyond the wrought iron gate and stone wall topped with wrought spires. The sounds of the city could still be heard, but the further onto the campus one walked, the more distant that bustle became. The main campus was freshly groomed; plenty of pavilions, trees, and benches decorated the open space to provide students with places to congregate. A large fountain, with water spraying inward toward the angel in the middle, sat in the middle of the turn around in front of the main school building. The different floors were dedicated to different aspects of academics, including floors dedicated to certain magics. Each were specially designed for containing the energy of the magic being used, but many return students would know these classrooms were more readily used during bad weather when using the outdoor space or annex buildings were impossible.

Behind the main building, connected by 2 different window lined halls, is where the dorms reside; the dorm buildings were separated by similar window lined halls. A well tended garden in climate controlled greenhouse filled the space between the halls and buildings; a handful of animals called these greenhouses home, and benches could be found scattered throughout the enclosures with quaint gazebos spread scarcely around as well. The greenhouse could be accessed from each hall in several spots, as well as the 3 dorm buildings, and had pathways throughout with signs to help students navigate to and from buildings without breaking the peaceful aesthetic. While the buildings offered interior space to learn, the sprawling campus contained annex buildings for various purposes including alternative locations for some classes, and even had external locations for classes that included an amphitheater.

Hiking out of the city was less about noting landmarks - though anything of note that would help her navigate her way around Grand Glory would certainly be memorized - and more about the fastest route out based on her map. Once the city was behind her and the open fields were finally around, she stopped again to admire the sights. Wild Pokémon, a handful of people walking to their own destinations, the kids playing whatever it was. It was after walking a bit further and realizing the forest nearby wasn't on her map - after pulling her compass out to double check she was reading it correctly - she stopped again. "Huh...That's weird."

Sage looked up at her and yipped, catching her attention. Faye looked down at her Eevee and shrugged. "It's just that, almost every forest in the region is marked. This one isn't marked though. Like, it's not on my map and it doesn't have anything posted..." She crouched and showed Sage the map she was referencing, despite the fact he couldn't read it. Yet. She'd eventually teach him that. She had lots to teach him anyways. "You know, now that I say that, though, I was reading up about the various areas of Evig. I'm from King's Cross so I know a lot about that area, and I know a decent amount about the Fenris City area from spending a lot of time there over the years. So I was making sure I was ready for getting you and getting started on our journey. Anyway, I was reading about the area, and I came across some old legends. If that's the forest I'm thinking of, it would actually make sense they would leave it off maps. Most people aren't foolish enough to wander into forests that aren't marked on maps....and from what I read it can be quite dangerous."

Still, she couldn't help looking over at it. If the rumors were true, that was a good place to go hunting for fairy type Pokémon. But if the rumors were true, that was also a very dangerous venture for anyone to take on, especially someone with their first Pokémon. There was an itch in the back of her head to go check it out. If the rumors were true maybe she would end up walking out of the forest almost as quickly as she ventured in past the tree line; or, she could end up being lost forever...on her first day as a trainer...right after getting her starter and an egg from one of her idols. However if the legend was to be believed, maybe it would let her go in and explore and be able to leave again without getting lost, if she had no intention of hunting any of the Pokémon there. Maybe. There was no thinking or consideration either way. It was just the itch to go check it out - feed her curiosity about it - and maybe, hopefully, get a picture of whatever the Pokémon of legend was that guarded but not mess with it. Or it would keep her there forever because she wanted to see it but not mess with it.

Another nudge and yip, and the purple haired trainer blinked herself back to her body. A soft laugh escaped her as Faye looked back at Sage. "Thanks. You know, you've got a big role to fill - keeping me on track - but you're doing a great job of that. Let's at least get some more teammates and hit that Daycare that Basil mentioned. Then we can go see if the forest spirit is real."

"Ee eev." Sage nodded his head. "That's my boy." She scritched behind his ear then stood, and put her map and compass away. They did have other things to be doing than wandering after fairytales.

The giggling of kids playing caught her attention away from their objective again. She picked up her camera from where it hung against her side and focused it on the group of kids, using the lens to focus in and get a better look at what they were doing before snapping their picture. She then lowered the camera and headed over to get a closer look. Sage kept pace beside her.
Rules for RP Conduct

  • REAL LIFE COMES FIRST
I cannot stress this one enough. I have a family and being an at-home parent with a homeschooled student is pretty full time for me outside of responsibilities as a parent. I am busy with RL a lot. Git has a very busy life offline and cannot get on as often as others. I'm sure others in this RP have RL responsibilities - school, jobs, families - and that comes first. If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time, feel free to drop us a line. I will do what I can to make sure you aren't left in the dust.
  • Don't be a dick. We're all here to have fun.
  • Keep it PG-13. Aside from the forum stuff, we are playing kids in a school so sex and drugs aren't really going to be allowed on campus anyways. Swearing is okay, just keep it to a minimum.
  • Try not to spam. If you see you're going back and forth with only 1 person for a long time, maybe let it sit for a bit? If you and another want to do a whole solo scene for a conversation or whatever, maybe take it to our discord or in a PM then post the conversation IC? This isn't about not being inclusive, just not taking a full 20 post page for just 2 players.
  • Try not to leave anyone out. Tagging people is the best way to make sure they see you are interacting with them; if you see you were tagged, try to include them in your post.
  • If you have questions, concerns, ideas, whatever - contact me or @Gittarackur We're here to help.
While I still have more staff and NPC profiles I am working on to submit for you all to see, I wanted to let you know that I will be starting the IC tomorrow (pending nothing coming up; Friday at the latest).

I will post official RP etiquette rules in the 0th post of the OOC, but for now, here's some of the basic rules that govern all RPs on RPG are to be observed:

For anyone that doesn't check the discord, I'm still determining when I will be able to get the IC started (we had a headcold go through our house and it's taking me longer to get over it than the rest - but hey, it could be worse *I do know it's not the big baddie going around*). But for now, keep your eyes on the Characters Tab.

I already updated it twice now with staff members, and there will be more to come as I finish up their sheets.

Faye Wrexlyn

Compasses always spun a little before finding their way when one wasn't sure what direction to go. Now, it seemed Faye's had gotten on track. Route 1 was quite the good first step above Route 4 it seemed. While she already had a mind to go seek out her own Yamper for her fledgling team, being able to check out that Daycare was an excellent next destination. Aside from potentially being able to identify the egg, they could likely give her a better idea for what might be found on the route and more.

"Thanks so much. For everything." She blinked when his phone beeped and he apologized after checking it. Of course, you nit - you didn't even consider he might have other things to do. She caught the smile before it fell from her face. "Oh, I'm sorry. I - yeah - definitely head off.[/color]" She waved as Basil and Vex ran off. "Bye! It was awesome meeting you both!"

She let out a soft breath as she finally dropped her arm and looked back down at Sage. "I don't know about you, but I'm pretty stoked now." Her cheerful smile was back at full force. Kneeling down, she carefully put the egg case down and set her backpack on the ground in front of her. "And now that we have a better sense of direction, I know our next step. We'll head out to Route 1 and check out that Daycare. See if they can identify this egg. If not, we'll just wait and see what hatches. At the very least, we'll be able to find potential new teammates heading out that way." As she spoke, the purple haired trainer set about reorganizing her pack to fit the egg case securely inside. It was too bulky to carry with her otherwise, not comfortably anyways.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket, notifying her of a new alert on her social. She pulled it out and checked it to see it was just Basil responding to her tag. Heat pooled in her cheeks as she tried to fight back a bigger smile. That was so nice he complimented the picture. It wasn't even with her professional camera and he thought it was good. Wait until he saw the one she got of Vex. Of course, within a few minutes of his response - she saw her follower count explode. From the few thousand she had to over 100 thousand. The smile fell from her face and her breath caught in her throat. She fell flat on her butt to just sit staring at her phone. A handful of the new followers were even going back and liking pictures she'd taken around King's Cross. If people started asking to commission her....That would be awesome and put a time restriction on her goal of becoming the Champ for Evig. But was that so bad? Maybe she couldn't manage to do both - be a famous photographer and Champ of Evig.

Sage nudged her and yipped. He seemed to realize she was getting into a feedback loop of her brain. Not a great start then.

A few blinks, and Faye focused on Sage. A smile crept back on as she scritched behind his ear. "Yeah, can't be sitting here getting side tracked. We have a team to build and gyms to prepare to beat." She stood, picking her backpack up as she did, and got her pack settled back on her back. "So let's head out. Route 1 here we come!"
@sly13 Looks good. Sorry for the delay in response.

Faye laughed softly at the comment about the Hawlucha. She hadn't had the pleasure of photographing one before - she hadn't met anyone in King's Cross that had one, and she certainly hadn't come across one in the wild in her travels thus far - but now she kind of wanted to. She hadn't considered trying to get one for herself, but maybe she could schedule a shoot for his at some point? Surely they were just as photogenic as the Yamper. Though it also made her curious what others he had with him. She doubted they'd be the same ones he would use in the league, but she supposed there was a chance. Maybe some other time. Taking another picture of him with Vex was fine.

She supposed when she asked for advice, it might be tricky. Not giving some basic platitude and common sense advice was hard at this point. She had been looking forward to becoming a trainer since she was young, but that meant she started learning a lot about being a trainer too. Surely there was something he could impart that she didn't know already though.

The smile faded as she listened. It wasn't a matter of being more intense. More like, a renewed sense of determination settled in again. His words were a reminder to not give up despite the challenges. She always sought to overcome them, but between what her mother told her yesterday and what Basil said today - she was determined more than ever to ensure she pressed on as much as she could. Was it cliche advice? Yes, but sometimes hearing cliched advice was good. It reaffirmed that it was true and not just something people said. She preferred to take everything with a grain of salt and not just take an idol's word as gospel, but at least he was saying something everyone always said.

She smiled and laughed softly at the apology. "It's okay to give cliched advice. It just means it's true and not just an overused platitude." She was about to say thanks and take her leave - surely she had taken up enough of his time and the others must have gotten so much more of a head start than she did with her sightseeing - when he told her to hold on. And started digging around in his bag?

Curiosity overtook the excitement of the meeting, followed by awe at seeing the egg in the container he removed from a bag she wasn't sure could survive any more adventures. She'd never seen an egg like that - not that she'd seen many Pokémon eggs as it stood. When he held it out to her, she blinked. Several times. Surely he wasn't...

Faye's brain stopped working for a long moment. She just stood there, staring in disbelief.

"I, you - seriously?" She didn't wait for the answer before nodding, though. "Yeah, I mean, yes. I would be honored to raise it. This is - it's really cool you trust me to raise a Pokémon you were given. I definitely don't intend to do anything to ruin it. We'll take good care of it, right Sage?" She looked at Sage, who seemed excited as well. "Ee vee eev." He practically beamed with confidence at the prospect.

She took the egg case and carefully turned it this way and that - a little worried she might break it since this was her first time actually handling an egg case - to get a better look at the egg. Then looked back at Basil. "Do you know what kind of Pokémon this is? I haven't seen an egg like this before."

Faye Wrexlyn

He wanted to follow her! Faye managed to not squeal with delight, but only just. Thankfully, she managed to keep her composure roughly as well as she had been up until this point. She laughed softly. "You may think you're nothing special, but you do realize you're kinda an inspirational story for new trainers, right?" She shrugged lightly, but never lost her smile. "I'll try not to make a big deal about it for you though."

After a quick assessment of the area, she shrugged again. "As for where to do the shoot, just getting a selfie with you and Vex can happen anywhere. Actually, hmm....Sage, go right there - " she pointed to a spot, and her Eevee moved to the spot indicated. "Vex, if you stand right next to Sage, then - Basil, you can stay right where you are and I'll get on my tip toes." She did just that and flipped her phone's camera to verify she'd gotten them all into the right position, then took the picture. "Perfect!" She grinned to herself again as she sent the picture to her parents with the caption Crazy who you might run into in Grand Glory.

She wasted no time at posting it on her Twitter equivalent at Basil with a note Thanks for letting me snap a picture with you and Vex. When she turned her attention back to Basil, she was still grinning. "It will definitely be an experience to really confidently go out and get some good shots of Pokémon returning to their native habitats, for sure. I'll be posting some of it to my social, for sure, but only ones that are thriving. If you're curious about any Pokémon in particular, I can send you info directly if and when I find them if you want." She pulled a metal case from the inner pocket of her jacket and pulled a card out. She offered it to Basil. "This has my website, and social media info."

She returned the card case back to its pocket. "Did you want a picture with Vex and or any of your other Pokémon? I could take a professional picture and send it your way when I sit to upload the pictures from my camera before I set out from Grand Glory." If he did, she'd direct him where to stand and suggested poses to snap the pictures for him.

"Anyways, I was going to ask you - before the impromptu photo session - do you happen to have any advice you wouldn't mind passing on to a new trainer?"
@Silverstein sorry for the delay. Thought I sent this already. Accepted.
