I'm definitely one of those people who never changes their avatar or signature and I'm 100% ok with that.

I'm not sure what I did to lure you here but I do apologize and I also would like to welcome you to my page. Now with the pleasantries aside, a bit about me.
I have been role playing for about 3 maybe 4 years now, I love writing and I spend a lot of free time doing just that. I also spend a lot of time that is meant to be for work writing but that's another story. I live in the American midwest (think great lakes region) so that should give you an idea of my timezone. That being said I am often up at many hours of the night, or morning depending on your point of view.
It's the second day, guys! I used Olivia to push it to the next day and she went to Isabella on the same day, triggering the assault on the New Sun Building! Also @Mass City you should make a new character or adopt one that's been abandoned! You seem to have no real involvement at all and we miss you, man!
Do you mean the third day, because the first day has already past so we were on the second day and now if a day has past then its the third day.
So this is kind of out of the blue but.... remember when I said I was going to make another character? Yep, I did it but the CS still needs a lot of refinement, I'd like to get this out here though to see if the general concepts are ok.
Name: Vince Ceilio
Alias(s): Heart String... Shut up its totally manly
Age: 26
Affiliations: none
Factions: Formerly MHLA (a long time ago) Currently Underground Movement
Description:
Vince stands at a rather intimidating 6 foot 2 and loves to use his athletic build to scare people. His casual wear usually consist of jeans and a button down shirt or a V-neck because he loves those, on missions he dons a black cloak and pair of dark cargo pants with knee pads and a dark shirt. Each is specifically tailored to fit him and made with special features. His Formal wear is of course a suit.
Powers: -Pheromone/emotion manipulation: Vince can influence a persons thoughts and emotions through 'powerful suggestions.' He can suggest feelings that aren't easily ignored, even by people who are emotionally controlled or guarded. He could plant a feeling of need for something that, with reinforcement, would become almost impossible to ignore. If Vince exerts too much influence over a person their brain basically becomes like putty and they are essentially mindless drones, sadly with out Vince's guidance they'll die because they will not attend to their own needs. This power is weakened when Vince tries to influence large groups of people, his influence will eventually fade and disappear after extended periods of time away from it. It is especially effective on normal humans and women. -Nerve Manipulation: He can accelerate his reflexes, speed, strength and other attributes and do the same on other people. He can keep up a constant 'boost' for 4 hours, any longer and he does nerve damage that even he can not fix. While he can not regenerate he can prompt his wounds to heal much faster, reducing the amount of time needed to heal by at least 75%, any pain caused by a wound can be suppressed due to the rate at which his nerves heal as nerves are the reason people feel pain. He, in theory, can control the movements of a person and essentially 'puppet, them but this is an extremely difficult and energy consuming task and he focuses primarily on creating or cutting out impulses or messages being sent to the brain. This allows him to make people feel pain among other sensations and prevent them from seeing or feeling things if he so chooses. Interestingly enough he can create nervous diseases or heal them but he can't really fix any other sicknesses. This power works best through touch and when applied through touch there is a lasing effect that can diminish if the victim goes out of range. Proximity works as well but it is not nearly as potent. It is similarly weakened by the amount of people he effects and works better on normal humans, however, there is no extra effect on either gender.
He can be killed like any normal person, his powers are not very offensive friendly so a face to face confrontation is a dangerous situation for him because he mostly has to rely on the weapons he has with him.
Skills: -Good Actor -Skilled in combat with both hand to hand styles and weapons -Multi-Lingual -Literary nerd (He reads Homer's Odyssey and Shakespeare for fun)
Equipment: Vince owns a number of 'goodies he stole from project VAULT. The 'practical invisibility' cloak which has a sort of chameleon function where people will subconsciously choose not to notice him unless he is pointed out or speaks to them. The 'Thief's Knives' that steal the life energy of those they cut and use it to heal the holder. Lastly the 'Ancient Blade' a niched up old sword that comes with an equally as old sheath and is kept in a black box, it only works for good but if he can't use it, no one can. It is supposed to be very powerful.
Ranking: B/A
Brief History:
Vince was born into part of Italy's wealthy class but his father got there with powers which led the largely Catholic community to believe he was some kind of 'Devil Spawn,' the way he could charm people into doing what he wanted was unearthly. Within a couple years of Vince's birth they decided that the child must be saved, the wife would never have voluntarily married a Devil's man or bear his child. These where fairly good intentions, Vince's father was a bad person to the core, but along the way things went wrong. A plan was devised to hide him away and raise him the right way, so at four years old he was stolen from his home. During the chaos that ensued, his parents house was burned down with them trapped inside. Despite the ruckus this should have caused the press was kept quiet and any documentation of the incident cite it as an accident, besides the official police report that is.
Vince's powers began to manifest when he was only seven, the towns people began to grow suspicious of him, the shop keepers inexplicably could not turn him down when he asked for sweets without paying. He was aware of his persuasiveness shortly after his powers kicked in. People began to distrust him in general and the feeling was mutual, he couldn't bring himself to even like humans and he eventually came to the conclusion that Humans were the natural enemy of Metas. Things were getting particularly bad when a traveler came by swiping him up in the nick of time. Within the week he became a member of the MHLA He was given a proper education and taught to fight, often along side a blonde haired girl who was close to his age. Unlike her he was often told that using his powers to get what he wanted was bad, he could make people do what ever he wanted and he was spoiled to the core because of it. Vince saw a much darker side of the MHLA, the side that put down Metas in pain and took the powers of those using them 'incorrectly,' a side the girl was protected from. These outings were meant to show him what would happen if he didn't use his powers for good. But the girl didn't have to see any of nightmarish things, she was the golden child and he was her shadow. Oddly enough the two formed a friendship, Vince had started blaming pretty much every thing on the MHLA. He was only ten so the thought process was quite natural, the higher power was always at fault but it had some logic behind it, the MHLA weren't the angels they appeared to be.
With time things got worse he found out about project VAULT and the Avarice and Mad Dog protocols, those programs being the worst of many. Yet with all this evil, he tried to see the best, to stick it through, for all the bad things they did there was still a lot of good being done and Vince appreciated that, he couldn't just leave after they showed him so much about his powers. He and the girl ended up spending more and more time together, she was highly resistant to his power and it was refreshing. They had a fling during a weird rebellious phase she had when she was 16 but that ended due to a tragic accident. At that point Vince was pretty fed up with the MHLA who blamed the bulk of the accident on the girl even though it was mostly his fault, as if they were trying to put her further in their debt. She had lost so much energy that her hair had gone gray due to the incident. They were playing a game Vince didn't want to be a part of. So he left, the girl, Cer, refused to go with him.
Vince was out in the world, naïve, 17, and spoiled; a recipe for disaster. His hatred for humans hadn't been lessened by the MHLA. He would control anyone who stood his way, no one could deny him anything so he got everything. But what he didnt account for was that a person with everything gets bored quickly. He became bored with the world, little things gave him a thrill anymore and he could only play so many games with a human's mind, they were painfully simple. That was where he found 'saving grace' in the underground movement. Their idea for a war on humans had him hooked, if humans were enemy number one than no one would care if he broke a few while messing with them. It was a match made in heaven. As shady as they were they weren't constantly in his face and business. The only thing that bothered him about them was how dramatic some of them were, the theatrics really aren't necessary when dealing with friends and not that obligatory when dealing with enemies. They liked to play their parts, psychotic child, diabolical leader, he unfortunately found himself as the bored puppet master. They seemed to love to put themselves in boxes, something he doesn't agree with.
In terms of current issues there are other negatives to the Underground movement. He regards the whole issue of 'Tree Baby Jesus' with annoyance because he does not support using it on anything that is not a meta. No human, no matter how 'worthy' they are should become a meta. It makes being a meta look like another thing they can take, like his parents or his rights. Despite this position he keeps his mouth shut and thoughts in his head because his loyalty comes before his beliefs.
He has been acquiring objects from project VAULT on his spare time as they are very powerful but he keeps this under wraps because he can't promise anymore items as no member would tell him where they are kept. He believes that the VAULT items could make the underground movement change their mind about 'Tree Jesus's' importance.
TLDR: Vince hates humans. He has a bit of history with Cer and the MHLA that makes them uncomfortable. He has been collecting items that have been enhanced or created by Meta powers and doesn't like Tree Baby Jesus. (Killer of the MHLA?!?!?!?!?)
@Subject Zero Like Sapphire said, both Kuro and Jackson are over-dependant on their abilities, Kuro especially will have trouble without them. Bulking up their physical abilities, fighting style, and get rid of their habit of power reliance.
@Sapphire No problem, he's not perfect and does have flaws in his fighting style. He's 16 and still has room to grow, both physically and mentally. And the shock collar would be a very bad thing, as electricty was a very prominent torture tool during his time at Janus Corp, so yeah, any trust gained would be instantly lost if she did that.
Its such a horrible idea, I know. I don't think there's many things worse than that, other than killing him, that someone could do.
Good post and all but if Cer is teaching Jackson how to fight, I'm kind of wondering what Nate's supposed to do without just being repetitive.
Teach him to stop relying on his powers. I mean have you seen Kuro, little bastard can't go five minuets with out Zoning out. Jackson's pretty chill but Kuro.... Maybe Cer and Nate should talk about it or something because they're both teaching him.
Here's a really horrible suggestion, but a shock collar on him and zap him every time he uses his powers.
(I'm sorry Raijin I mean no offence to you or your character)
Jackson slowly woke up, getting up very drowsily as he yawned. "What round of torture to you have for me to day, electrocution or having that psycho telepath come and super-charge my senses as you use the needles again." Jackson said, clearly not aware of where he was. As he got up, his blanket fell down to show that he had variety of scars, bruises, and burns all over his upper body.
Rubbing the sleep from his, he jumped as he saw, not another scientist, but Cer. So yesterday had really happened. The revelation left him feeling both elation and self-loathing, though he did his best not to let it show.
"My apologies, I confused you with my old handler." Jackson got up, ignoring the state of his bed and walking into the closet to put on some form-fitting training clothes. After he was dressed, he motioned for Cer to lead him to the training area, still looking very tired, though still very aware of his surroundings.
Cer cocked her head, he was painfully nonchalant about his painful past though she was being hypocritical just by thinking that. With a simple head shake she led him to the training room which was empty, as was typical of this time in the morning. They went through some simple stretches before Cer said to get some distance between them.
"Okay, let's start off with something simple, explain to me how you access your abilities, if it helps you to use your power while doing this feel free to do so." She smiled as if there was a joke he wasn't getting quite yet.
"Okay, here goes." Jackson said, a look of intense concentration soon taking hold. Behind Jackson, the air seemed to fracture and crack, an intense white light shining from the other side. The light flowed around Jackson's form for a second, only to soon be dispelled with a pained grunt, causing it to all revert back to normal. Jackson took a few seconds to catch his breath before he walked back over to Cer.
"Before you ask, I have no idea what's on the other side of that, only that it supplies me and Mu with the energy to alter reality, except Mu can somehow maintain a continuous charge while I clock out at 15 minutes at the utmost maximum, and then I feel like throwing up blood. Kuro, however, doesn't seem to need to draw energy from the Reality Core, as the crazy scientists called it, I guess cause he's not actively altering things on a physical level, just their perception of reality."
"Anyway, I can charge about an hour's worth of energy instantly, and after 5 minutes, I'm good for half the day. That brings me to the specifics of my ability, which can be thought of as power replication, though it's more like application replication. I can't copy abilities entirely, only the way I see it applied, but I can distort the parameters of said application as well, making it bigger, smaller, or longer."
As he spoke, a spike of ice appeared behind him, followed by several more of varying lengths and thickness, If one were to look closely, they'd see that none of the spikes were touching the ground, but were coming from more of those strange white cracks.
"So far, I have copied a fireball, a lightning bolt, these ice spikes, and a wall of earth. I can also choose where they pop up from, and mix them together ever so slightly. Finally, I can multiple their power by placing crack over crack, though that's rather draining, or create a loop between two cracks, making either an effective barricade of lighting and fire, or a deadly trap with ice and earth."
Cer smiled lightly, Jackson could use his powers; that was a step in the right direction. However there were some things she might have to reteach him, he looked almost pained when he called on the Reality Core which usually meant that something was being wrong. The Reality Core posed a bit of a problem, unlike her energy which was a part of her that she had access to, the Core was likely not a part of Jackson and he was summoning it and taking energy from it. It was like a hose and Jackson was trying to squeeze the water out instead of turning the hose on, but she was assuming that he was actually going about it the wrong way. Methods could be worked out later, if Jackson could perform fine using his way then there wouldn't be much of an issue. He would have to prove it though. She thought for a moment before grinning.
"Hit me." She took a couple steps back and crossed her arms. "While displays are nice, skill and functionality are measured better in a combat situation. I'll limit my power usage, bonus points if you copy and use what I can do."
Jackson nodded, circling Cer as he thought of how to approach her. Rushing in was not a good plan, as it would make him an easy target, so he'd go for ranged attacks and unorthodox moves to show his skill. Plan in mind, Jackson began to charge Cer, only to summon a thick wall of earth underneath him, lifting him up high above her. He jumped off the wall, causing it to fade away into the crack it had come from, and he landed on another wall he summoned mid-air, 3 cracks forming above him and sent out a small barrage of fire balls. Then he kept an intense watch on her, knowing he had limited air time. A couple more minutes, and gravity would break off the earthen wall from its perch in the crack.
Jackson had taken time to assess the situation, the odds of a direct assault were low and her surprise when he elevated himself above her was minimal. He had taken higher ground and tactically speaking, that was very smart of him. Though how long he could remain up there was yet to be seen, she wasn't sure how long the wall would hold up as the crack didn't really count as a physical thing for the wall to hold on to. The fire balls weren't a bad offensive move and multiple projectiles were a good idea, he had done fairly well for a fist attack. Cer dodged the fire balls easily enough, however the last one she reversed with a small blast of her own energy, sending it back to Jackson. If you had looked closely enough a small white flash went off in her palm as she did this.
Jackson brought up a wall of earth to block the fireball, already prepping himself for the power he saw. The information bolt into his head like a jackhammer, cramming it into his mind until he knew everything he could about that move. Okay, I got Energy blast, finally something good for close-quarters. After a break of about3 seconds, he formed a wall that curved all the way back down to the ground in a spiral, running down it and letting the wall he was on fall towards Cer. He also formed walls that looked more like meter sticks, being small, thin, and solid. He formed a condensed fireball behind them and fired them off in small bursts, aiming for her general area, but not actually trying to hit her. When he came closer to the ground, he erected a wall, only to blast it into dust with a barrage of fireballs
This gave him cover in the form of a thick smokescreen, which he used to switch places with Kuro.
Kuro 'zoned-out', becoming unnoticeable, and watched how Cer reacted to the onslaught with keen interest.
Cer stood her ground and as the earthen slab was about to crush her, she punched it. Using her energy to charge the attack the slab shattered while she started dodging the fire balls. She had style but that was one thing she couldn't thank her teachers for. Moving fluidly like a dancer the fire balls whizzed past, if she couldn't see them because of the dust then she felt the energy. Cer wasn't perfect, one fire ball flew by entirely too close to her left shoulder. She reflected a few but there wasn't much of a point as Jackson had likely switched to Kuro for whatever reason. Kuro was good, she couldn't even pin point the location of his aura.
When the dust cleared Cer had barely moved across the floor and she didn't seem the slightest bit tired. Jackson was better than she had hoped for, she would just have to crank it up to the next level.
Kuro smiled as he came up to his teacher, one of the meter sticks-like walls Jackson had summoned in his hand. Even more were spread all around the area, some in pieces, but most were intact enough for him to use. But first, a little immaturity for immaturities sake was in order. He put his finger in his mouth a got all nice and drenched with spit, then he proceeded to give Cer a Wet-Willy in both of her ears, as well as crumbling up some of the earth wall to make decent sized pebbles that he tossed down her shirt and pants.
"This could be considered cheating, but I like I call it. . . .Ultra-cheating. And I must say, I never thought I could find a woman with grey hair to be sexy, thanks for proving me wrong, Cer." Kuro chuckled, knowing the woman wouldn't be able to hear him. Taking the earthen stick-wall in both hands, he made for hard strike to Cer's backside, leaving the 'Zone' as soon as he cemented in his mind that he would do it.
He instantly became noticeable behind Cer, but so did the wetness in her ears and ricks in her clothes, which probably made for a discomforting experience. The moment he made contact with anything, Kuro would release the tiny wall and go back into the Zone, becoming unnoticeable once more.
Cer didn't like how Kuro was taking his time, his aura was moving, she couldn't tell where he was but he was close. By the time she noticed him it would be too late, she had no idea what he was going to do. Then as if someone released a valve, several things happened at once. Single out what's important, Lesson 36. Kuro was behind her, she did a half turn and shot an energy blast at him out of pure instinct, aimed squarely at his chest, for his sake she hoped he dodged. Then she noticed what he was holding and it smashed into her hip, making her take a step back. It was at this point that she noticed the wetness in her ears and the rocks, well two could play that game. Whether he was injured now or not she put up an invisible barrier to be safe, "You were doing quite well, I don't know why you saw fit to ruin that but if you want to play games we can hire a baby sitter." She walked over to her bag and began to take off her shirt, "Dignity is not measured in clothing. Though removing it tends to embarrass most people." She smiled to herself while brushing the dirt off of herself. "However, since Kuro has a problem, touch my clothes again and you'll burn yourself." A shirt materialized on her upper half while she repeated the process for her shorts. The clothes she was wearing now almost glowed, energy constructs. This was normally a risky move because if she ran out of energy than she wasn't wearing clothes anymore and since it was so culturally taboo, she wouldn't be looked on kindly for it.
Calmly fixing her pony tail, a bubble-like sphere expanded to fill the room then shrank, trapping anyone besides herself inside whether she could see them or not.
Kuro was already on the move away from his teacher, taking the blast to his shoulder with a pained hiss, and was headed for the door to avoid the inevitable A.O.E. power that was coming. And he might have made it if not for one thing, he looked back right when Cer was in the process of disrobing, causing him to trip over his feet, as he tried to run and watch at the same time, his perversions earning him a face-plant, getting caught in the energy sphere, and Jackson yelling at him for being an idiot. I can't believe you, was that really worth it?
Absolutely, probably the closest we're going to get to seeing a girl naked, so enjoy it.
Really, you do know how pathetic this is?
What I know is that I got to see boobs, bot much cause underwear, but close enough. Instantly worth getting caught.
You're an idiot, you do realize this right?"
I realize you need to shut up and switch with me so you can get this power. Jackson did just that, quickly switching in to get the power, via another painful info dump, before switching back to Kuro, who was now noticeable. Looking at Cer, he could only shrug his shoulders, wincing a little from the pain in his left one.
"I figured every teacher needs a problem child, and since Mu is beyond problematic, and not a frequent user of this body, why not have it be me. Can you not lecture me about this, I'm already dealing with it from Jackson, oh, and thank you for the little show. It was much appreciated and kept me from running out the door, so please feel free to use it again during any of our sparring sess- Jackson if you fucking hit me, I swear to you, I'll do and say much worse." Kuro deviate from his current train of thought as his right arm rose of its own accord, looking as if it was going to strike him, but fell to the ground as soon as he made his proclamation.
Cer raised an eyebrow, "You didn't play fair so why should I? The real world isn't some kids show. 'Villains' aren't a bunch of weirdos with hair brained schemes. They're lawless rouges or, if you’re unlucky, devotees to a cause more horrible than you could imagine. To beat one you must think like one." Her eyes fell on his shoulder, "I'm sorry, I put too much stock in my reflexes and reactions and you got hurt." She put a hand on the sphere and poured her energy into it which in turn healed Kuro, "Kuro the next time I see you I want you to come up with something better than childish tricks, you're power could be worth so much more than that." She lowered the bubble so it touched the ground and absorbed what energy was left in it.
Cer began to gather up her stuff, "I think that enough for today, I have a pretty good idea of where your fighting skill is at. If you have any questions or concerns or whatever, here's my number. Before you say anything, make a dirty comment and I'll pin you to the ceiling. I don't care if you're a hormonal teenager, there is no room for it on the battle field." She handed him a scrap of paper with a number scrawled on it. "Don't worry, pain's been our everyday friend for as long as we can remember, it was actually a bit weird to go without it for so long." Kuro said, showing a small amount of shock when Cer healed him, still not used to people being kind to him yet. He usually had to deal with these types of injuries naturally, as they weren't considered serious enough to use the rejuvenation vats that Janus Corp had invented in secret. Having someone care about him felt. . . . rather nice, but Kuro quickly locked up the feeling, not wanting Cer to see it.
When she let him go and gave him her warning, Kuro decided he'd tested her patience enough for this hour, and give till the next one to recover. Taking the slip of paper, he gave a wave before walking out of the room.
Why didn't you tell her we have no idea what this number is for? Jackson asked, already knowing the answer was going to be stupid.
Simple, you can be the good one if you want, but that woman's going to have to torture me before I admit a damn thing to her.
Idiotic pride?
Bordering on complete asininity Jackson argued no further, the back and forth lasting until they got to the door. Kuro stopped however, turning back with a cheeky grin. "See you later Cer, this has been the sexiest test I've ever had. I especially like the part where you showed your ass!"
With that last act of juvenile defiance, Kuro vanished into his Zone, leaving behind his ruined shirt, as well as his training pants, and screams of minor chaos as another unlucky teen found themselves stripped of all their over-wear.
Cer rolled her eyes at him as he ran off. He seriously needed a personality check if he wanted to keep his head out there. She silently thanked the assignment and Jackson for keeping her sane, she had little doubt that she would be in some sort of miserable state if the only thing she had to focus on was survivor's guilt and her twisted obligation to find the killer.
Sometimes a thorn in the side was a good thing.
Jackson and Cer spar and it's filled with awesome moves and stuff. Kuro steps in Cer catches him by stripping. The winner of the match is technically Jackson because he did as Cer instructed and landed a hit on her. Lots of technique nuggets if you're into that, more on Jackson's side than Cer's, overall ten out of ten would post again.
@Sapphire Hey, I'm waiting on your reply in the collab.
Yeah, I'm really sorry about that, my St. Patrick's day was really weird and I have graduation tests going on a school. I didn't think my posting rate would get all messed up by this or I would have told you. I'll get something up tonight.
I was planning on making the guy mostly responsible for killing the MHLA as a player character. He may end up being just a bad guy but what I've done with idea so far is very promising. You guys are going to love him or hate him, depending on whose side you're on.
I'm still really confused about the whole tree baby Jesus thing. Where did it come from? Who is the 'mom' in this case. Also, why does tree baby Jesus exist in general?
I'm not sure what I did to lure you here but I do apologize and I also would like to welcome you to my page. Now with the pleasantries aside, a bit about me.
I have been role playing for about 3 maybe 4 years now, I love writing and I spend a lot of free time doing just that. I also spend a lot of time that is meant to be for work writing but that's another story. I live in the American midwest (think great lakes region) so that should give you an idea of my timezone. That being said I am often up at many hours of the night, or morning depending on your point of view.
I am indeed a girl and she/her whatever works.
