The next day?!?!
Asoka "Mercury"
What an awful night that was. Not the sleep, no, the whole mess that occurred before she finally got to reach the merry world of dreams. If she were to be completely honest, seeing her past relatives could be considered a small plus, but interpersonal relations were always so volatile with Asoka that it barely even mattered. A dreamless sleep, perhaps, but a very soothing one as she awoke with a fresh face when her phone's alarm rang to indicate it was time to wake up. It'd be in the middle of the morning, on a school day mind you, but it appeared as though the small tyrant didn't have that in mind right now. Her slow and calm mannerisms emitted no sense of urgency or anxiousness whatsoever. Asoka would take a nice, warm shower before heading to the dining lounge of this makeshift hotel, dressed up with her plaid shirt and jeans from last night.
The remains of blood that was poured here, ghoul blood no less, gave Itsuki up. She could tell he was back, not that she expected him to be dead or anything. But it'd be unfortunate that she could not witness the stunt pulled by Hana on the male. If Asoka were there during said event, or heck if someone were to inform her, 'Dick eater Itsuki' would follow the poor lad for at least a month, or a year. Nah, let's not kid anyone here, it'd follow him forever.
"
Morning y'all."
There'd be no real enthusiasm in her greeting, her voice giving the impression that it was just a routine courtesy rather than her wishing her 'friends' a good morning. The female ghoul made herself at home and served herself some warm coffee from the machine every ghoul probably had in their household by now. A mug filled with cappuccino, not her favorite but whatever, she needed something to start her day up. Though oddly enough, she didn't seem to desire any form of nourishment. Having not eaten since yesterday night, it could warrant some worry from the more nosy of people that would be enjoying some breakfast. Or Brunch.
"
Issei Sagawa finally apprehended ... HAH! I knew he was a fucking attention whoring Ghoul! Someone's going to be buying me a new camera today~"
The sudden random claim made by Asoka would just be her reading the headline of today's daily whatever. It was a newspaper, and being the typical millennial, she only bothered with news on the internet, so the physical paper didn't mean jack to her. The crazy cannibal was finally arrested despite legal loopholes and was proven to actually be a ghoul. A glorified one too. Maybe the French were just not used to ghouls, or maybe that Dutch girl was more important than the shits ghouls ate on a daily basis.
She'd often check her phone, keeping an eye on the time as events flew by. She had a class later today, but for now she felt a bit too lazy to move or do anything productive. Though that wouldn't help her image as a freeloader.
Ward 5, Bunkyo, Tokyo
Our Good Ol' Friends, the CCG
At a far too familiar spot for our young heroes, the doves had laid their venomous nest on the remains of what was once a beautiful mansion that housed many innocent children. Just a few hours after the orphans had left the Hayasori building, the CCG had managed to find the place and declare it as an official 'crime scene'. No crime was committed, evidently, as no body or traces of well anything could be found. And yet, access to the perimeter was sealed off with a couple of run of the mill agents made sure to enforce the barrier while an investigator conducted their work.
"
So, why are we stuck with sniffing duty when a hot pot was detected down in Ghoul city?"
"
Hell if I know, but they moved more than one special class on that case. Knowing that, I'll tuck my tail between my legs and gladly pussy out over here."
"
Wow, the years haven't been kind to you, Tendo. I mean ... At least seventy bodies found ... Some are human, but most are ghouls. They don't know the details but aren't you at least a little curious?"
"
No."
The two officers were dressed in the typical armored uniform, looking a lot like local peace keepers. One was pretty young with long, blonde hair (most likely fake) while the other who was the least enthusiastic of the two looked middle aged with short, brown hair and a goatee. They weren't the only ones in the area however, as they only served as backup for the associate special class conducting this investigation inside the house. In reality, this case would be better suited for lower levels, but certain conflicts within the establishment ended up with the investigator in question stuck with bottom of the barrel cases like this.
Enter Shinji Hariyama Trusdale, child of a westerner married to a Japanese native. A young investigator in his mid twenties who has displayed great efficiency multiple times in the past. To end up in such a dead end job must be a result of heavy dishonor, a mistake that could not be easily forgotten. Nonetheless, he took it without ego and accepted it fully. He'd conduct his work as usual, paying attention to the finest of details. By the books but also a fresh new pair of eyes for the older special classes, he'd always be early on the spot with his reports ready for his partners' arrival. Speaking of which, he would meet his new assigned co-worker on this specific case.
"
Oi Tendo, he say anything to you?"
"
Sure did, one of their captives gave this place away real fast. Must've been some kid, because if I were in their place, I'd milk my time there as fast as possible. Once you spill the beans, well, you know how cost effective they are in those places."
"
Kids huh? Jeez, kind of makes you think how bummed you have to be during orientation day to end up here, aye?"
"
No."
