Just a heads up, it wasn't a lightning bolt that put the hole in the overlord, it was Drall's TK blast so there wouldn't have been a thunderclap.

And I am aware, Drall. :)
@TJ: I can absolutely understand that, and I hope you're able to work things out. It was a great idea, it just happened in the right place at the wrong time. :/

@People: Do the rest of you want to continue?
That would be up to Teo to decide. Though it would probably be better to have any other sparring matches in another thread.
Unfortunately, grabbing the arm wouldn't stop the punch. Not with that much force behind it and Ahmad having as little leverage as he does. David has a stable stance and is using gravity to his advantage, as well as putting the weight of his body behind the blow. I'm afraid there's nothing Ahmad could do that would outright stop it.
I actually have a character who's essentially tailor-made for this kind of fight. He'd need some editing to be more conducive to the prep mechanics of the duels here (when I made him I was unfamiliar with the system), but I would like to join Vordak in taking one of your bosses on.
Oh... uh, sorry. I tend to go into details that are perhaps a bit too graphic (depending on the audience), due both to the fact that it doesn't bother me personally and that I like to be as accurate as possible. But simple descriptions are absolutely fine with me if you're uncomfortable with more detailed graphic ones. And I apologize if my own descriptions are too much. Just let me know if that's the case and I'll tone it down.
My last post was an instance where you could have used your free hand to defend against my shove, as me writing out what I expect to happen doesn't mean that that's what has to happen. Just that it's a likely result if no counter is possible or used. It's always a good idea to write out the expected outcome of an attack, that way your opponent has a good idea of the damage it would do if left un-defended against (and can then more properly defend against it, if possible).
Ah, the bullrush. A tactic of desperation if ever there was one. Even before the slide became obvious, David began moving to his right, preparing to sidestep the rush and use the man's momentum against him. When it turned out he was sliding instead of a more conventional attack, David's right foot was already out of harms way and a simple sliding of his left foot removed it from danger as well. As the man's momentum carried him closer, David stepped forward with his right foot and dropped to his left knee, driving his left fist straight down toward Ahmad's stomach, allowing both gravity and his own muscles to power the blow.
I did realize while writing my post that there was one necessary detail you left out, and that was the footwork. The positioning of your feet is extremely important when it comes to both the power of your attacks, and the stability of your defense. Since you left yours out, I had to make an assumption based on the rest of your attack and go from there. As much as possible, you never want to leave things like that up to your opponent, as it then becomes very easy for them to gain an advantage.
The rightward lean would rob the counter punch of momentum as Ahmad narrowly avoided the jab, making the counter to the hook a fairly simple matter of blocking with his left forearm. As he did, he stepped forward with his left foot, hooking it behind Ahmad's leading right foot, then driving his palm at the center of the other man's chest once again. With his right foot obstructed by David's left, the result should be remarkably similar to the end of Ahmad's initial assault, if not identical.
