Appearance:
Daniel is a wiry, athletic boy standing at about 5'11", with lean musculature that could be accurately called a swimmer's build. A shaggy mop of brown hair crowns his head, which hangs down messily no matter what he seems to do with it. Conversely, the rest of his body from the neck down is completely shaven, despite him passing the age where he started to grow body hair. He keeps his uniform fairly standard, though his tie's usually a bit loose and it's not uncommon to see the collar of a spandex wetsuit peeking out from underneath if he plans to head for the water immediately after classes.

Reputation:
Daniel is most well-known as a member of the swim team, given that he seems to spend every moment he can spare at the pool or by the beach. As expected of such frequent practice, his athletic achievement far outweighs his academic performance, though he still remains firmly average in that regard. He's affable and friendly, though he carries the harmless mischief of a boy who still makes ligma jokes in the current year and finds pointless gaslighting to be the pinnacle of humor. With men, anyway. With his female classmates, he's a notorious flirt, though he keeps it lighthearted enough that most can't figure out whether he's joking or horrendously down bad. The fact that he promptly turns down any woman that reciprocates lends credence to the former, but he is a horny teenager, after all.

Of course, anyone that somehow chanced upon the rumors from his old school would likely piece together the truth, but Daniel tries his absolute hardest to make sure no one knows about his life prior to attending Harbour Academy.

Background:
Until very recently, Daniel lived the life any teenager would dream of. He is - or rather, was - the heir to a wealthy imports company, accustomed to tropical vacations and lavish living. He enjoyed popularity at school, spent his leisure time with friends, wanted for nothing, was a star athlete - on track to compete professionally in swimming, even - and if that failed, he had a lucrative family career waiting for him. The boy existed without a care in the world.

At least until last spring. He was in an empty school bathroom, pressed up against the wall with a pair of lips working their way down his neck. They hadn't even meant to do anything indecent, just innocent schoolyard kissing, but someone walked in and saw. Daniel hadn't even considered it risky at the time. And it wouldn't have been, except the one sucking hickies into his neck was a boy too.

His life collapsed nearly overnight. The tale hit the school's rumor mill like fire hits a droughted forest; while he wasn't exactly treated like a leper by the vast majority of the student body, the public opinion surrounding him had obviously shifted. Daniel could tolerate the locker room being a bit uncomfortable for a while and whatever colorful rhymes of 'Danny' and 'dicks in his fanny' other students could concoct, but his parents learned of the incident shortly afterward. He went from darling son to embarrassment to the family in an instant. Why leave the company to someone that would never give them grandkids, after all?

After graduation, he was sent to live with his grandparents, in hopes he'd 'clean up his act' rather than drag the family reputation down. Wealthy in their own right, they immediately suggested an upper-class boarding school, that Daniel might learn how to conduct himself properly among esteemed personages. And, of course, to not disrupt their retirement with a child to care for. Harbour Academy's proximity to the coast drew Daniel's eye, though the irony of the school's acronym wasn't entirely lost on him. Fate had a funny way of working like that.

Misc:
He gets unreasonably embarrassed when people call him Danny, though he never actually insists people stop.
Daniel's parents recently stopped paying for his contact lenses, so he's taken to fumbling around half-blind most of the time. Woe be unto the person sitting next to him who he can pester into reading the board for him.
He's very much a 'touchy-feely/pat you on the back/throw an arm around you' kind of friend and often initiates physical contact without thinking, though a careful observer might note a flash of guilt on his face once he consciously realizes what he's doing.
All of his social media accounts are either private or under pseudonyms. He notoriously never accepts friend requests.
Daniel constantly tries to sneak snacks into class. That crinkling on the other side of the room that sounds like a bag of chips? It's him.
Despite his love of the water, he's not a fan of seafood.


They stood, pleading to be the first ferried across, and stretched out hands in yearning for the farther shore.
But the surly boatman takes now these, now those, while others he thrusts away, back from the brink.

A gaunt figure cloaked in tattered cloth and wielding an oar of petrified wood, whose only visible features are his desiccated hands and unkempt beard. He stands as a faithful guide between a life that can never be returned to and the new life waiting on the other shore, should one only be willing to pay his meager toll.

Moveset: 
Kharon commands Curse-aligned elemental skills, as well as mighty Physical attacks with the oar he uses to beat back the damned. As one who ensures swift passage across the Rivers Acheron and Styx, Kharon can also bolster his allies' agility.
