That's my stuff done. As you can see I am a roleplaying newbie as of this site. Nice to meet you :3
The Paladin found herself sitting beside Liliana but facing the two Servants from where she sat. Arms crossed and a brush of her silver hair made her think that war hasn't changed there will always be casualties. That isn't something for her to mope about however, she joined the war of her own volition so she had thought that Waver Velvet had done the same for his own reasons but failed in the process because of a Heroic Spirit, one with a higher rating above others.
"King of Conquerors huh?" She muttered to herself. She, Roland and Turpin were kingslayers... Saracen Kingslayers anyway, twelve of them fall underneath their sanctified blades so what makes this one any different? Of course she won't underestimate anyone, underestimating even the weakest of foes will only open a gate to your defeat.
"Young Rider, I'd rather you do not add the word: Simply we might not be dealing with just any ruler around here. If this person calls themself a King of Conquerors they're not bluffing. They are a Heroic Spirit after all." She turned back to Zhuge, trying not to look at Diarmuid.
As expected of the great Zhuge Liang... or any Caster with talents for that matter. Olivier made herself known to greet Raphael in full plated armor. "This is Saber reporting. I regrouped with this young lady and the Egyptian Caster's master, we were pursuing the young knight and if it weren't for Zhuge Liang guiding us here. We would have been stuck for hours in this maze he created. She turned back to the Chinese Strategist with a look of suspicion/
"That reminds me Sir Liang. If you are a Servant, who summoned both of you if not her or my original Master somewhere out in this hellish landscape?" She had every right to stay on guard. Just because someone is nice to you does not mean their intentions truly are.
Zhuge Liang, A Renowned Strategist that's worthy of Comparison to another, previous Chinese strategist: Sun Tzu. The fact that we've been thinking we were walking around circles... or at this point... blocks makes him a powerful individual even if not through the strength of his magecraft alone.
A Bounded Field? A Noble Phantasm? Who can say. To get lost in something like this is unexpected, at worst: A minotaur might greet us violently.
Olivier didn't loosen the grip on her sapphire grip, eager to stay tightened since he was just a random Servant. Sure he introduced himself, sure he gave his intentions but whether or not they are true is impossible to say. The Paladin wasn't a mind reader so it was natural to be on guard.
"I assume you mean the Rider that chased after your scout? I hope he didn't hurt him too much, it'd be bad if we lost our Rider in case Caster's Master is in a sea of enemies." And by Caster, she referred to the egyptian loli following her. If Zhuge Liang wanted to use the pharaoh's claimed leyline, would she actually be willing to give it? He simply was a man they just met and Olivier believed it'd be best if they held on to it for a bit.
"I shall take point." Declared the Saber Class Servant before jogging in the direction of where Gawain went on his horse, he'd been gone for a little while and since they leyline would have been connected to the Caster and her rightful Master by now the three would give pursuit.
Rundown buildings, rubble, hints of blood, smell of smoke, a bit of fire here and there and the only thing that seemed to show a glimmer of hope was the blueish blade of the Holy Paladin. Truly this is an environment someone like Caster's Master shouldn't be in but since she was close by and ahead of them where they can see and the Saber can reach, it should all be fine... right?
"Caster, do you have anything in that little noggin' of yours that can protect against potential ambush?" Saber asked with a slight chuckle, gripping the hilt of her jeweled shining sword in case any stalkers followed them. "Wouldn't want anything to happen to your Master now, right?"
"Sir". That was an honorific from Medieval times. She found it funny considering she was a lady.
Saber turned to Liliana with a strict gaze before looking back at the path Gawain took pursuing the man on a bright steed. She looked back at Caster who didn't seem physically capable at the moment, of course she doesn't recognize her since almost all Egyptian royalty looks adorned with black and yellow accents.
Nonetheless, she asked for the Master's opinion even though it is not her she formed a contract with. "If Caster can protect herself then we can pursue." She turned to the egyptian loli in question, raising a brow if she can handle herself against potential enemies already scouting their location. "Then again she sees you as her Master so whatever your decision, I will follow for the time being. I'm only here to advise after all."
She took a few steps in Gawain's direction, looking back at Liliana for confirmation on whether or not they'll try and find the young knight in this hellish scenario.
Aude's eyes are met with fire and ash, the ruins of a concrete building fell around her and her comrades. Her eyes scanned the area, turning to a little egyptian girl who has been dressed awfully boldly (@Love Detective) and a young knight who looked as if he were a knight she would recognize under her banner or perhaps another Paladin's banner? (@ERode) But no. She didn't remember anyone like that.
The Summoning System tends to change the appearance of a Hero drastically for a Grail War but her purpose for summoning wasn't for that. It was something else entirely.
Hatshepsut, the egyptian loli decides to secure the Leyline with her skill as a Caster and the young knight pursued the rather handsome man that struck her heart.
How odd. She had only eyes for Roland and yet a total stranger- a panicked intruder made her feel all gushy inside for a moment's notice. A skill perhaps? A Noble Phantasm? An inherent trait? One can tell.
"Well you could use the protection, your Highness." Aude smiles at the little caster loli with a determined expression as one of the Holy Swords of Charlemagne's Noble Phantasm appeared in her hand as a vibrant royal blue, the mana converging around it in the shape of a sword. "Wherever this place is, none can get past me. The Paladin of the Olive Branch."
Ah right. There's been a little hiccup in my studies lately so I won't take part in the roleplay.
Sorry for not responding either because there's a personal problem in my household that I'd rather not share. It isn't dangerous. I'm sure. But it does relate to me flunking my tests.
I forgot about this place just weeks after I made my character because of that problem.
I could tell you more in detail but that's in PMs only. I'd rather not bum everyone out.
"I am your summoned Saber. Olivier of the Twelve Paladins. Hm? You thought I was a man? I guess that's my fault. In that case, my real name is...
Name: Aude de Vienne
Title(s): Olivier de Vienne, Paladin of the Olive Branch, The Fair Countess of Aix
Class: Saber
Gender: Female
Attribute: Earth
Era: Charlemagne and the Twelve Peers
Alignment: Neutral Good
Personality: Aude was often a contrast to Roland’s hyped up attitude. Hers was calm, analytic and would never go into battle without a failsafe or a backup plan in mind. She does not discriminate and will attack just about anyone if the situation and honor she upholds calls for it especially if they are already hostile when first encountered. During combat, she intends to study her enemy first before making up a decision whether or not to continue, as such she will transform her weapon if the situation calls for it.
When asked which weapon she prefers, she would prefer the sword.
Outside of gritty battle she is a known socialite and being the Countess of Aix, that helps for their family’s noble standing. She will talk about how she dislikes the lifestyle of kicking back while others fight a war for their land and beliefs and would much enjoy joining in the battle herself if it benefits both her and her Master.
Other miscellaneous traits include her having a problem showing a lot of skin. Whether it is herself or a fellow female compatriot (not Astolfo). It is also why she tells Bradamante to cover herself up with a coat while she enjoys the coverings of full armor.
Bio: Olivier was just a figment of the knights’ imagination in fact, it was nothing more than a mere title. Aude was the one behind the armor and fooled people before she revealed herself to the other Paladins when Bradamante was accepted into Charlemagne’s Twelve Peers.
Aude was the Countess of Aix, she had a sister, a mother and a father. Born from royalty she was expected to act like a lady of the court of Charlemagne. Posture, respect, manners, and the volume of her voice were the core ideals of nobility in the eighth century. It was supposed to be a good thing for Aude, an easy life where she wouldn’t have to be on the front lines fighting the Saracens and their armies knocking on their door. To her parents’ surprise, she doesn’t like the lifestyle, especially when soldiers are dying for nobles that are just sitting back and watching the chaos as if it were some piece of entertainment. Her pleas to join the military always end up in strong arguments. She was still young then, and she was very stubborn. An angel noted the courage emanating from her very being and promised her that all will be alright if she seeked out her Uncle Girart de Vienne and helped him reconcile with their Holy King. She took this as a challenge and set off in the night without her parents’ permission. It initially became a problem at first but they were able to work out a deal that benefited each other and shook on it. Of course her uncle had convinced her parents that Aude would have to be taught some manners in the court. It was obviously a lie to get her to train with him as Girart had no one eligible enough to be his champion.
Aude was considered her uncle’s best, beating even the men down in sparring. The girl-knight was asked to repay the favor by engaging in a short, waging war against Emperor Charlemagne and ending it with a battle between two champions. She asked him what would happen if they found out she was Aude since women were rarely given any chance of knighthood during these times and are respected as nothing more than court maidens and tools to gain political power. Her uncle, as cunning as he was, decided to give her a new name, a title, under the armor she donned. It was at that point, she was knighted as Olivier de Vienne under the service of her uncle’s faction. The chosen name reminded Girart of the tales of Roman Gladiators earning olive branches as a crown and symbol of defeating those around them, he found that same aura with her.
Aude sets off to challenge Emperor Charlemagne’s champion, Roland, as the decisive battle for peace between the two factions. Both Paladins fight, none of them holding back. Roland with his excessively strong and powerful swings, creating shockwaves which seem to stagger her with each hit only to miss each swing and is met with graceful thrusts and nicks as a response to his. It was nothing but a spectacular dance that lasted for hours until sunset. When the two finally admitted their stalemate both acknowledged each other as powerful fighters and as a gesture of peace did Aude bring Roland an olive branch from her uncle’s yard before the battle. Roland takes this as a sign of peace and invites Aude, or rather… Olivier as a member of Charlemagne’s Twelve Peers and as a gesture of peace, arranged a marriage between Roland and “Olivier’s” sister, Aude (unaware that he was fighting the very lady he was betrothed to) and in the process became best friends. She had sent a letter to her younger sister the night before to make preparations so that “Aude” herself was at the castle to meet Roland. Putting her careful plan into motion, her uncle and a loyal knights at their side decided to help her cause as well.
Battle after battle, Roland and Aude alongside the other Paladins of Charlemagne such as the Battle Bishop Turpin and fellow Paladin Gauthier received their reputation and renown as fearsome, chivalric knights of differing personalities. Aude’s weapon: Hauteclere even proved itself as one of the holy weapons that the Paladins possess. One that could send the dead to paradise, carried by angels.
It wasn’t until Ganelon’s betrayal during the Battle of Roncevaux Pass. Had it not been for Roland’s hesitation to blow the oliphant, maybe he, the Archbishop and Aude could have stood a chance with minor wounds. Alas… it’s not his fault. She never saw it coming especially when a spear impaled her back by the dishonorable Saracen, Marganice.
Aude laid dying in her own pool of blood while he was forced to watch her companions getting destroyed by the ambush that number God-knows-how-many. This didn’t stop her from just letting go no. If she was going to die, she was going to take some down with her, even if it meant the person who struck her down. With one last breath, she pierced his skull wide open in one thrust, splitting in two as he fell beside her. The light in Aude’s eyes fading as the last of the rearguard fell. It’s sad really, the last thing she also heard was the sound of a horn being blown. After that, nothing. Regrets filled her mind before the darkness looms in to obscure her sight.
Weapon: Transformative Sword that turns into a Spear and vice versa.
Parameters:
Strength: B
Endurance: A
Agility: B
Mana: C
Luck: C
Class Skills:
Magic Resistance (Rank C) - Cancel spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals.
Riding (Rank B) - Most vehicles and animals can be handled with above average skill, even vehicles that did not exist in the time period one was alive in, for they are no exception. However, cannot ride the likes of Phantasmal Species such as Monstrous Beasts.
Personal Skills:
Battle Continuation (Rank B) - Aude was known to fight and defeat her enemies even while wounded on the battlefield. Her most famous feats were against Fierabras where she was still critically injured from the last battle and her sudden momentous execution of Marganice even after she was pierced from behind with his lance before dying herself.
Paladin of the Olive Branch (Rank B) - Through victory comes peace. Aude was one of the smarter Peers of the Twelve under Charlemagne and believes that striking the enemy’s cause of defeat can lead to total surrender. Aude had been doing this in campaigns with Roland and Turpin by killing several Saracen Kings resulting in them making peace. Of this rank, by killing off the leader of an army, their soldiers surrender to her without resistance.
Eye of the Mind - True (Rank A) - Capable of calm analysis of the abilities of the opponent as well as the battle conditions even when in danger and deduce an appropriate course of action after considering all possibilities to escape from a predicament. Aude has always been able to use her head when engaging against a formidable foe, this has developed during excessive training under her uncle Girart as a trade-in for freedom from a Noblesse’s duty.
Facade of the Fair Maiden (-) - A Skill materialized from her disguises since the impersonation of a person who didn’t exist (Olivier) and when disguising as a Saracen to teach Roland a lesson. It is a skill where she becomes someone else so long as her face is not shown and when Hauteclere isn’t materialized. Should both the former and latter remain materialized, this Skill is sealed.
Noble Phantasm:
Name: Hauteclere
Title: Through Victory, My Enemies Will Find Peace
Type: Anti-Army
Rank: A+
Range: 1~50
Maximum Number of Targets: 100~200
Description: A holy sword smithed in masterwork, handcrafted with a mechanism that extends into a spear-like weapon, it proves its effectiveness as a Holy Sword when baptized in Holy Water under the command of Emperor Charlemagne to a priest (who Merlin disguises as). Upon chanting a prayer to God. The sword flashes a darkish blue, held in a thrust position with one’s eyes closed. After finishing the prayer she thrusts the pulsating sword, creating a large beam that could eradicate armies as far as her eyes could see. The sapphire jewel in the sword acts like a catalyst from which mana gathers around for and the chants reinforce it before bursting out of the tip of her blade, strengthened by one of her skills: Being a holy sword it can also deal a tremendous amount of bonus damage to Evil-aligned Heroes, Anti-Heroes, and heroes of differing beliefs. Anyone struck by this would feel as if their burdens would simply wash away, their problems disappearing and feel as if they have accomplished something worthwhile and had given a good, fun fight, with a smile on their face. “Peace arrives in a worthwhile death.”
Her Noble Phantasm can also be utilized in the spear form where it is thrown towards the ground and creates an explosion similar to a hydrogen bomb. It would be called: “Hauteclere: Through Victory, My Enemies Are Given A Painless Paradise
Both variants of the Noble Phantasm will render the skill Facade of the Fair Maiden, null and void.
Name: Honored Peerman
Title: A Paladin’s Armiger Has Promising Potential
Type: Anti-Unit
Rank: A++
Range: 1
Maximum Number of Targets: 1~50
Description: When Aude fought Fierabras while wounded, she lost her equipment and was thought of defenseless by the giant. Of course, when she picked up the giant’s second sword, Baptism, she was able to use it to her advantage and fought back as if she still knew what to do with it. This is similar to Lancelot’s Knight of Honor where Aude can grab anything that is universally considered a weapon and use it against her enemies. The bonus modifier is applied if the weapon was owned by someone else and is struck against said person. Unlike Lancelot’s Knight of Honor. This particular Noble Phantasm works even when Hauteclere is drawn.
