After watching Roxy make amends with her Rockruff, two things suddenly occurred to Novis: both he and Nier had forgotten about the injuries they'd taken from that fight, and he also forgot that he still had an angry Drilbur with him. Both points should be dealt with, but Novis opted to deal with the former before anything else considering that both Roxy and Aiden suggested they go foraging while the food's getting started. Making a quick salve from the Oran Berries would be much cheaper than blowing a few potions. As much as Nov loved his Growlithe, they weren't exactly wealthy at the moment.

Since Aiden was a blur in the kitchen, there wasn't much time to get berries if they wanted them to be in the meal, so Nov jumped up from the ground and looked around the area. Since Nier was busy messing around with Zorex and hovering around whatever Aiden was doing, Novis motioned for Roxy to follow and started over towards a nearby group of bushes. "Let's see here..." He muttered, as he crouched in front of the shrubbery. It took a bit of digging through the groups of foliage before they could find anything edible.

"See anything else good around here, Rox?" Nov shrugged off his bag and started plucking off some berries from the bush. While it was incredibly easy to distinguish an Oran Berry, any herbs or anything might as well be grass to Novis, so he was hoping she'd know more about it. He hesitated to take anything he wasn't sure about, but Aiden would know what not to use, so Nov also took a handful of what probably wasn't a grass and bundled it up.

"So," Nov started, already bored trying to decide what to get and how much to take. "Mind if I ask why you're out here, doing this? Everyone has a reason, no matter how dumb." He smiled to himself, but he wasn't quite sure why.

Everyone else seemed to agree with the notion of taking a breather, especially with the only thing between them and the next town was another route and Zamak Ruins. One of them was a little more excited than the others, though, as Aiden was practically already prepared to make a meal as they walked away from the eternal dust of the dig site, Nier precariously running circles with Zorex around him. Nov couldn't help but laugh at the unrestricted energy of their Pokemon. It probably wasn't a very good combo to have two balls of hyperactivity around, but what can you do.

It was a very short trip before they stopped at the part of the route where a bunch of other trainers were hanging around. The rest area was little more than just a significantly wider part of the road combined with some benches and worn plains, but it was on the half-way point and was sheltered by the wind by the surrounding hills of desert-esque knolls. Nov had no idea what Aiden was gonna do for their on-road lunch, though. Maybe he had a lot more than they did, but all Nov had was the remnants of a cupboard raid and the last few bites of a sandwich.

The team found a good spot to set up with ease, and while Aiden was messing around with all his travel equipment, Novis found little else to do but sit down on the ground and throw a stick for Nier. The little dog didn't return it, but instead found enjoyment out of showing the twig to Zorex. "Need any help there, dude?" Nov called out to Aiden, lounging back onto his arms. "Don't got much else happening, so if you're gonna cook for us, we'll do what we can. Right, Rox?" He looked up at Roxy, just to make sure that there wasn't gonna an odd person out of work.

The battle of attrition continued, as they fended off the shadows and everyone put up whatever buffs they had, but only until Ayano chimed in with the results of her scans on the enemy. Instead of just telling the team like Megumi often did, a holographic diagram of the boss suddenly appeared before everyone, displaying some important information on it: it had no glaring elemental weakness, and the prince and princess were separate entities. Beyond that, Sato didn't see much helpful on it. Was that really it?

The answer was no, Sato was wrong. Megumi quickly pointed out that it had a loose grip when it swung its sword, and hitting its hand while it attacked was, well, suggested. Doing so would hopefully disarm it, and even if it was temporary, having such an advantage would really allow them to launch a powerful offensive. Of course, who would do it? Healers obviously couldn't in case disaster struck, and breaking up the front lines was just inviting trouble into the vulnerable inside of their formation. So who wasn't doing either of those?

"Sato, you go."

Oh. Well, it was going to be a lot more helpful than just haphazardly throwing spells at it, so Sato unsummoned his persona and clutched his bow tied. He felt bad about completely ditching the formation, practically unable to assist anyone from a range, but they weren't gonna win with what they had going, and this was one of the only chances they had at the moment.

Sato felt a bit nervous about going into the fray when everyone else was holding the fort so well, but he reminded himself of both the healers they had and the defensive buffs that had set up on the team. With that, he ducked out from between the spaces between his allies on the front-line, quietly sneaking out into the corner of the room. Nothing seemed to have noticed him due to being pre-occupied with all the fights going on, so he nocked an arrow and prepared to summon his Persona when the moment arose. He flashed a thumbs up to Rui, and then all he could do was wait for the rest of the team to bait the right attack.

Novis gave Aiden a "what the hell dude" kinda look when he shot down Nov's request for a(nother) reward, but Nov quickly bit his tongue when the scientist looked disappointed after rummaging through the bag Nov had handed him. With an uncomfortably stern stare, the man explained that because of the constant thievery they had been experiencing, they had no resources to spare for a prize and that the experience would be satisfactory for any trainer. Novis opened his mouth to say something, but before he could voice a single syllable, the man had already integrated with a small crowd of other excavators, leaving them literally in the dust.

Apparently that was all there was to it, though. The group of three trainers stood in a semi circle, and Nov just looked over at the other two with eyebrows high. He dug the Fire Stones out of his bag and tossed one to each of them. "Think the stones would've been the reward? ... Eh, whatever." The sun glinted off of the red stone brilliantly, the colors inside lit like fire. Either way, he was glad to have one for Nier... one day.

He surveyed the whole of the excavation site again; there wasn't much to do here besides bother the excavators, so Nov shoved his hands in his pockets and took a few steps back towards the main path, intent on ditching the site ASAP. But, when he couldn't hear Nier following, he flipped around to see the red dog head-butting Aiden and Roxy's shoes all while giving a few little barks and whimpers. He knelt down and held his hand out, to which Nier came running to quickly.

"You hungry, bud?" The dog yapped happily and did a spin. Nov was plenty familiar enough to know it was the meal dance, so the teen stood again and pointed over towards the small rest station a little ways down the route. "Let's take a break, guys. After that whole lil' adventure, we all could probably use a quick rest, yeah?"

I'm assuming new characters just kinda "coincidentally" meet up with a group, seeing as the main meeting place is long gone by now?
Cough cough.

Anyway, quick question: @Sho Minazuki I didn't sign up for contests at the lab as Nov had no interest at the time, but if he changes his mind, it's possible to sign up elsewhere, yeah? We could only sign up at the lab for the convenience of meeting people at first, right? Just want to make sure.
(...on that subject, anyone know a way to tell kanji to back the f*** off during the ski trip?) XD

Tbh I was doing everything I could to get him to back on and that got no where fast, so I have no advice for you.
That was so edgy I have to go to the ER for severe lacerations on my body
Hi there! I just started playing this series recently and this RP looks like a lot of fun!

Can i join in the future, or are all those tarot thingies taken?

As of right now, VIII Justice is the only tarot open, I believe.

EDIT: Hierophant is actually taken, sorry!
Sato was getting frustrating. They were obviously doing damage with their attacks, but it felt like they were getting nowhere with the battle as a whole, and Sato bet the shadows had more endurance than they did. If they couldn't figure out the trick to this fight, they would get overwhelmed by them sooner or later. Rui set Megumi to try to analyze the knights while they tried to take on the princess, so Sato braced himself for oncoming action. All he could really do for the time being was sling spells as best he could.

As the team went in for a powerful strike, the Shogun defended their attacks with relative ease. At the same time, the princess the shadow carried suddenly let out a harsh wail, resonating inside Sato's skull. The familiar dull pounding of over-exertion started beating down on him, his vision blurring for a second before he got used to the feeling. Looking around for a brief moment, Sato could see that it was affecting everyone-- the entire team wasn't exactly feeling it anymore. Rui ordered for buffs if possible, but Sato couldn't exactly do anything to mitigate feeling like shit.

Apparently Akane had something though, and Rui asked for that to be put up so he could go in to test Megumi's theory. Sato didn't really want to waste any strength he had in him for the moment, so after quickly putting up a Marakukaja in attempt to protect the debilitated team, afterwards unsummoning his persona and only used it if need be.

Roxy seemed particularly excited about the discovery of the Fire Stones, even agreeing with the notion of just keeping them for themselves. Of course, they then both looked at Aiden for a final answer; it wasn't going to work out if Aiden was gonna go rat them out about finding some rare stones. As expected though, he wasn't too excited about the prospect of technically stealing, but let them decide what to actually do.

With that discussion over, the prescribed mission was probably over, so the team called it a day and headed back out of the cave. Walking out was a much nicer experience, the glow of the outside world beckoning them from the depths of the earth. As they took their first step back into the sun, Novis had to squint his eyes for a few seconds before he could even look at anything, though Nier was already bounding around with glee about getting out of the tunnels, the small dog nearly taking out Nov in the process. The team headed over to the excavator they had talked to, and on the way their, Nov quietly shoved the stones into his backpack while keeping the bag they found in the tunnel on hand.

Aiden gave one final look to him as if to ask if he really wanted to go about it this way, and Nov gave him a subtle nod just before the scientist turned to the group of teens. The team relayed the information about the mission to the man. The Pokemon they found, and the bag they found. Nov handed it over, giving a slightly disgusted look as he smelled the mess of spoiled food one last time. "If you were gonna eat that today... don't do it, man."

"So," Nov started, leaning back a bit with his hands behind his head. He looked to the side with a bit of a smirk. "Now that we dealt with those wild Pokemon of yours, is that it? What's our big reward?"
