Bio

Hi! I'm Shade, a girl out of central California. Roleplaying has become a hobby of sorts for me, so here I am on this lovely website. Creative writing is a favorite pastime of mine, so exercising it with the help of other people brings me a lot of joy.

I have school during the day, so I'm usually active from 4-10 P.M. PST.

I'm going to go ahead and place some tentative interest here. I do love me some Fire Emblem.

Roxy watched with wide eyes as the woman hugged her clipboard to her chest, almost ready to bolt the second she admitted they needed help. She stopped, though, when she continued to talk about the ruins; it was all stuff that Roxy knew, until she mentioned "some group" that went tearing into the place. At that point, her eyes narrowed as she listened to the woman speak, suddenly feeling a stark change in mood: desperation to anger. The trainer hadn't realized how serious the situation was, but if this group was using some heavy duty machinery, then...

Well...that just wouldn't do at all.

"The Zamak Ruins are a government-protected historical site! They're thousands of years old! If they're messing around in there without Chromis Department of Natural Resources-approved equipment, then these idiots are breaking the law! If they so much as scratch a single column in there, I will have their heads!" She paused, realizing her outburst came out much more...violent than she'd intended, and the semi-frightened looks on her Pokemon's faces weren't helping. But she could faintly hear shouting inside, which meant that something bad was going on. Roxy suddenly felt her anger flare up again at the thought.

This wasn't just about the Fire Stones anymore.

"Where's the security out here?!" she demanded, fury in her eyes as she looked at the scientist in front of her. "If those despicable, grave robbing, disrespectful, uncultured abominations have the audacity to charge in there as they please, then they have got another thing coming for them!" Roxy slung her bag over her shoulder and stormed into the Ruins, hands clenched into tight fists as she stomped inside. Lucina and Aela exchanged nervous glances before rushing after her, once again struggling to keep up with her pace. She was about ready to murder these heathens; Arceus help them.

As the trio made their way toward the Ruins, Roxy couldn't help but pick up her pace. The Ruins were an archaeological wonder of sorts, and just the thought of seeing it in person had her hands trembling with anticipation. "Oooh, I wonder what it'll be like inside! I mean, I've seen, like, hundreds of pictures, but in person?" She was skipping now, giving Lucina and Aela a tough time keeping up with her. "Apparently the Ruins have a connection to the Alph Ruins all the way in Johto! Which is, like, wild since the Alph Ruins have to do with Unown. Rumor has it that you can find Unown deep inside the Zamak Ruins, though, which means the two are most definitely related in some way!" She paused momentarily, realizing she was actually a short distance ahead of her companions, and put her hands on her hips as she waited for them to catch up. "C'mon, guys, we gotta hurry!" Roxy was joking, of course...mostly.

Roxy noticed that Aiden seemed a bit...on edge? Zorex was also agitated to some degree, but all Roxy did was continue walking toward the Ruins with both Aiden and Novis in tow. Maybe Aiden and Zorex were upset about the food incident earlier? The trio eventually stood before the Zamak Ruins, which Roxy found to be utterly beautiful despite their obvious old age. She looked around at the tourists and scientists bustling about, and suddenly felt the same wave of anxiety that she felt when they were in the dig site earlier. Why hadn't she expected to run into more archaeologists? These were the Zamak Ruins, after all! Roxy stood very still, realizing that she actually recognized one or two people around here; maybe she'd read about them, maybe her parents knew them? Regardless, it was definitely putting a damper on this little archaeology adventure. Glancing down at Lucina and Aela, Roxy wondered why they were both on edge too; in fact, they were acting the same way Zorex was. Lucina's arms were positioned as though she was about to Force Palm something, while Aela was crouched down with her teeth bared.

"Um, hey guys, do you think something's-" Roxy was cut short when a horde of Mankey suddenly sprang on the group, seeming to come almost out of nowhere. She felt her bag being torn away from her as several Mankey shoved her to the ground. Lucina, furious at the sight of her trainer being attacked, used Force Palm and quickly managed to drive them off of Roxy. Aela immediately chased after them, delivering a nasty Bite to one of their tails. But the Mankeys seemed to be everywhere, and Roxy could hardly process what was happening; in fact, she'd since lost sight of Aela, while Lucina was set upon by even more Mankeys. Roxy's bag, meanwhile, had been tossed about six feet away, and a group of the little demons were hastily rifling through it. Inside, they found a couple brushes, and a strudel of Aiden's that Roxy had snagged before they'd left the rest site. They also found the Fire Stone, which they quickly discarded after realizing it wasn't food. The Mankeys did take the strudel though, and ran off soon after. Stumbling to her feet, Roxy shoved several Mankeys aside with her foot as she made her way through the horde. "Lucina! Find Aela, hurry!" Lucina nodded, forcing her way through the horde until she found her teammate and pulled another Mankey off of the Rockruff.

As quickly as the horde came, they were gone, it seemed. Zorex drove them off with a nicely aimed Dragon Rage, meaning that the Mankey were gone. Roxy pushed a stray bit of hair out of her face as she turned to Aiden and Novis, panic still on her face. "Are you guys okay?!" she called, brushing sand off of her clothes. They seemed unharmed, at least. Lucina and Aela were also mostly unharmed, Roxy realized, with a sigh of relief. What on earth was that all about, anyway? Spotting her bag a ways away, Roxy quickly walked over to it and fished it out of the sand, huffing as she realized there were grains of sand everywhere inside. Not to mention that her Fire Stone seemed to be missing, in addition to her strudel. "I can't believe this! We just got jumped, and that stupid ghost thing stole from us too!" Roxy looked at Novis, confusion evident on her face. "Ghost thing? What ghost thing?" Regardless of what the 'ghost thing' was, it had apparently stolen their Fire Stones. Which, to be fair, they had also stolen, but...still! That was one hundred percent not cool! "Ugh, this sucks!"

It was then that Novis approached some lady standing over by the Ruins, who had evidently been a spectator to their little incident. Roxy had no clue who she was, though she seemed to be yet another archaeologist studying the Zamak Ruins. Novis mentioned a Yamask, which Roxy couldn't help but find...unsurprising. The Zamak Ruins were full of ghost types, among other things, so a Yamask wouldn't be uncommon around here. She continued brushing off bits of sand as she approached the lady too, exasperation practically emanating off of her. It seemed that a large group of tourists and scientists were flooding out of the Ruins, clearly scared off by something. Goodness, what else could possibly be going wrong today? The scientist lady was speaking to another person-likely a colleague-who appeared to be in distress. That...wasn't good, was it? Regardless, she apparently didn't want to let them inside, which just wasn't going to do. "Ma'am, we really need to get inside. That Yamask stole from us, and we're trainers, after all. We can handle ourselves!" Aiden came up behind them, also trying to persuade her to tell them what was going on. He was right, though; they were plenty strong together, right? Novis seemed eager to bash some heads in himself, and if there was something that could possibly damage the Ruins, then...well, that was more than enough reason for Roxy to crush some foes too.

Roxy smiled softly as Aiden seemed to feel a bit better after listening to her, which meant her mission was accomplished on that front. After all, the desserts were great, so it wasn't like the praise was undeserved. "I'm sure you will, Aiden," she replied before digging into another strudel. Roxy decided it would be her last one, seeing as strudels weren't the healthiest of foods. Lucina and Aela seemed to be about done with their food as well, which meant they could get going again. And boy, was she eager to keep going; the Zamak Ruins were an archaeological wonder comparable to the Alph Ruins in Johto. Roxy was desperate to get a good look at them, maybe write down what she found noteworthy? It wasn't every day that you get to see them, after all! With her last strudel done, Roxy reached into her bag and pulled out a brush, before looking at her Rockruff. "Hey, Aela, mind if I get some of that dirt out of your fur?" The Rockruff jumped into Roxy's lap, putting another smile on her face.

As Roxy began to gently brush the debris out of Aela's fur, Novis spoke up. His words were considerably more...harsh, than hers had been. She visibly winced, choosing to just focus on getting the dust out of Aela's tail. Lucina huffed a bit, admittedly jealous due to all the attention her new teammate was getting. "I'll get you too, Lucy, don't worry," Roxy murmured to the Riolu as she continued brushing her Rockruff. She glanced up at Aiden as he spoke, once again choosing not to speak, as the sharp tone he used probably meant he didn't want to press the subject further. To be fair, Novis wasn't exactly too kind with what he said. Roxy hadn't realized he could be so brutally honest...she supposed it was good to know, at least. At that point, Aela was clean, so she patted the Rockruff's head and gently moved her to the side so Lucina could get her share of maintenance. Lucina happily climbed into her trainer's lap, eager to get the debris out of her fur. There was much less in Lucina's, seeing as she was on the winning side. So, Roxy went to work, dutifully getting the bits of rock and dirt out of her partner's fur.

Aiden was somehow able to get everything cleaned up in record time, which made Roxy feel a bit bad for not helping him. She made a mental note to help him out the next time they sat down like this...after all, he'd made the meal for them. "Thanks, Aiden," she remarked before finishing with her impromptu grooming session of her Pokemon. She gave Lucina a pet on the head before putting the brush back in her bag and tossing it over her shoulder. Novis spoke up shortly after, mentioning that they should probably hit the road again. "I'm all set to go! You guys ready?" she looked around at her friends, then at her Pokemon before jumping out of her seat. Everyone seemed prepared to get going, with Aela and Lucina jumping off the bench and standing on either side of their trainer. Roxy decided to leave them out of their Pokeballs, since they seemed to want to stay with her for the time being. She waited for her friends to grab their things, rocking back and forth on her heels as she did so.
CS is coming along, should have it up by tomorrow.
@Zi Hm, okay. Thanks!
@Zi I plan on my first CS being a warrior, so no worries there. I'm just more concerned about the possibility of having other cats in the different Clans? Assuming we'll have more than one Clan, that is.
I'm gonna get started on my first character, but should we be wary of death? As in, would you recommend creating multiple characters in case one dies?

EDIT: Also, I have a very cruel tendency to create death fodder characters, so...
